Timeless Traditional home dates back to the turn of the century. Renovations have upgraded this fine 4-bedroom home that is also pet friendly and sleeps 10. Grand views of the Chincoteague Bay with large front screened porch and decks off both levels. Very quiet and serene location with good water views from the yard. Great home for larger groups or reunions. 1st level bedroom, fireplace and outside shower. Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid. If less, then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge, and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

we love chincoteague

it was great lots of birds and wildlife. very comfortable and enjoyable older renovated home, part of history. really enjoyed the screened porch, lots of time spent there. very close to downtown and assateague park (wish they allowed our dachsunds). the only complaint is the ant problem, they were very busy in the kitchen. need to get it sprayed, the dried out ant traps not working. but all in all we will return (with terro ant traps). we rally enjoyed our stay!

The property is cute and in a great location- unfortunately the carpets upstairs are very old, filthy. Urine stain on sheets on my bed. 2 doorknobs came out of the door and one guest was locked in the bathroom until I rescued her. This is very dangerous. Ant traps should have been placed before we arrived.

Overall nice, but ants!

The house was fine as listed. The steps are stepper and smaller than expected. Overall comfortable but some furniture needs updating (one chair broken, one with spring out). Biggestest issue was the ants. They are all over in the kitchen, despite multiple cleanings to deter them. Lost a good amount of food.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our experience was very good. Chincoteague Island is a wonderful place to visit. I have rented through harbor Rentals every time we visited the island. The vacation home was charming and in a easily accessible location. It was large enough to house the 7 adults that stayed in the home. Beds were comfortable all appliances worked well. Furnishings were serviceable and a bit dated and stained. Pots and pans were not in very good condition as the Teflon coating were pealing and not useable. Otherwise we enjoyed the home and the beauty of this wonderful island

It wasn't very clean and one of the bathrooms smelled like urine all week, even after we scrubbed it ourselves.

Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at A Summer Place ... love the location and spaciousness ... concerned about the maintenance --- only 2 of the burners on the stove work; the knob on the dryer is broken so we could not set it to spin a second time and the clothes was pretty wet after the wash cycle so we had to dry much longer; the handrail on the left as you exit the porch has a knob at the bottom that fell off when we touched it, which also happened the last time we were there, and I guess we didn't report it; I believe there was a portion of the lower screening on the porch near the table that needs repairing

We had a good time at A Summer Place. There is a nice water view out back, and a great screened porch in the front. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and the mattresses are comfortable. The kitchen has plenty of space and there is an abundance of cookware and dishes, as well as silverware and other kitchen utensils. The dining room table easily seats 8, which would be good for a large family. The check in process is not as easly as some properties, but only because you must stop and pick up a key rather than use a keypad. The air conditioner worked well, and there is a separate condenser unit for the upstairs, which is a definite plus. If I had to pick a negative, I would say the house is almost too bright. There are no curtains anywhere in the downstairs living area, and the upstairs also stays incredibly bright without room darkening curtains, so you are awake very early. The house is on the quieter side of the island, down past the high school

Property needs attention

Couches and chairs have stains, bathrooms were not clean, food was found in microwave upon arrival, kitchen door to deck was almost impossible to open. Lights in closet did not work, bed in downstairs bedroom was on concrete blocks. Overall this property was not inline with the rental price that was charged. We have stayed at numerous rentals and this was the most disappointing.

Avoid at all costs

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is roomy, I'll give it that. Other than that, this is the worst rental experience I've had on Chincoteague, and my family has been coming here for over 20 years. The washing machine broke on the third day of our stay, and no one called me back from the real estate, and when I called again it was too late to get anyone in to fix it. I lost a whole day of my vacation doing laundry. The dishwasher leaked. There were ants everywhere, and while I can understand ants in a kitchen or even the bathroom, I have never seen ants in a couch until now. The chair by the door in the living room is mildewed, and the door to the deck in the kitchen is broken. The pots and pans are old and dirty, and many of the dishes in the cupboard were actually dirty and needed to be rewashed. The trash from the previous tenant had not been taken, and the first two days of our stay we thought something dead was under the porch from the smell. The shower door in the upstairs bathroom doesn't close properly, and the shower door in the downstairs bathroom is moldy. The outside shower is unusable, and poison ivy is growing through the screened in porch. Other than that, it was freakin' great.

Shabby, Chic to the Max

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I hoped that this rental would have been the perfect place for a working vacation. There was room enough for my family and a screened in porch to enjoy outside time. But, I knew the moment that I entered the front door that I was going to be disappointed. The house smelled musty and mildewy and did not feel clean. Many surfaces, including the dining room table and floors, were sticky. We had to clean everything before we used it. There were dirty dishes in the cabinets. The carpets were very stained. Most of the furniture was worn and stained. The whole house is infested with ants. We could not get the tv to work; thank goodness he internet worked so that my husband could at least watch football on his iPad. Many of the windows did not have curtains or blinds, so we felt exposed when we were in those rooms at night. The screened in porch had holes in it, so we were not protected from mosquitos. The yard is not pet or child friendly because it is full of burrs, poison ivy and goose poop. I hoped to be able to go for walks, but the road does not have sidewalks or a shoulder so it was not a very walkable area. We were required to vacuum and sweep the entire house before checking out, but the vacuum cleaner was in pretty bad shape and it took two people over an hour to clean and vacuum. Overall, we were disappointed in this rental.

The location is good in that it is quiet and away from traffic. The rental management staff were very helpful in resolving an A/C issue with a previous rental property. If we vacation in Chincoteague next year, we will most likely consider "A Summer Place" or the availability of a comparable rental.

Fabulous Family Porch and Country Location

We just about lived on the screened in porch. It is a great vantage point for bird watching.
