The neighborhood was super friendly, and safe! We had a lot of fun walking around with the dogs, looking at the sea lions and experiencing the harbor.

The perfect weekend getaway from AZ heat!

First time in Oxnard and we loved it! Great location, perfect house, and wonderful hosts. Our teens enjoyed the pool table, and we loved riding the bikes to the beach. Would definitely stay again!

Ultimate beach getaway

We visited Ventura for the first time. Oxnard is where the property is, what a quite quaint place. It is within walking distance of the beach, beautiful weather and scenery from the home. Had great food nearby, a great little corner store for anything you forgot to pack. It was an amazing vacation. Would recommend staying here and would come back again.

The pool table was a hit! The location and natural light were great. The bathroom could have used a little more cleaning but our stay overall was comfortable and fun.

Very much appreciated our 1-night stay at this listing. The main room is very spacious and everything felt clean. Beach is a 5-10 minute walk away. Not sure if this is always the case but many seals were basking about, which we enjoyed.

Ocean views and proximity were much better than expected

I was pleasantly surprised by the views and close proximity to the ocean. Even though it was too cold for a beach day, I enjoyed the small 20 yard walk with my family to see all of the sea lions sun bathing up close. The house was clean and spacious with a big driveway. I would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Easy check in; comfortable home, and conveniently located within an easy walk of beautiful Silver Strand beach. Bikes, surf and boogie boards, kayak available for use; not super fancy, but comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. Large great room area connected to the kitchen, with windows all around—open and airy. It was just what we were looking for. Austin was helpful and accommodating.

Peaceful, safe neighborhood with one minute walk to the beach

This is the absolute perfect house for a family vacation. We could see the little harbor and the kiddie beach was literally across the street. For my "big kids" (8 -16) it was a safe street to cross and the beaches felt WAY safer than those in LA. The house was neat and had all the necessities. The stairs in might be a hindrance to people with a disability or small kids. But for us it was fine. I highly recommend the property and host for anyone who wants an easy vacation near a safe, clean beach.

Better than what we wanted!!

We’ve been coming to Silverstrands for several years and love the no frills beach life (we live near Newport and just TOO many people, so this is a perfect place to get the beach vibe ZERO crowds. Anything you need is within walking distance and anything else is within a few minutes drive. Host was awesome. Definitely worth it all!!

Beautiful Marina View

We flew into town for a family event and chose to find a place for us to retreat to rather than stay with family, and to make our travels a little bit of a vacation than just a family visit. We really enjoyed our stay here. The view of the marina outlet to the ocean was great. Up early for coffee to sit and enjoy the quiet morning or a short walk up the street to search for sand dollars at Silver Strand beach. The sea lions were a hit too! We saw several play along the outlet. The pool table was fun, and taught our kids a bit of the game and made up family rules too. The beds were very comfortable, but would have preferred more pillow options. There as a Mr. Coffee maker but maybe a Keurig would be a nice touch. Overall, would recommend and would consider for future family visits. If you have kids and time to plan ahead, there was a surfing camp right on the beach.

Disappointment

We arrived to at least 3 weeks of trash in driveway and 6 inch weeds in driveway. The property was not clean, the Towels were terrible, no ice cube trays, no bath mat, no screens on front windows. Sorry but stay here at you own risk

Solid home base in Oxnard/Ventura Area

The location and proximity to Silver Strand beach and surrounding area was great. Just a short walk to the beach, and you can see boats coming and going from the harbor from the upstairs living room. Highly recommend getting a breakfast burrito at The Strandwich.Property is pretty basic. Aside from the pool table and TV there are no other interior activities (books, games, puzzles, etc) so bring those with you if you want them. There are bikes and boards available for use though.We didn't really use the back patio area at all for a couple reasons: 1) Access is only available through a padlocked garage, so it's not convenient to get to. 2) There is a downstairs unit used by the owner, who was there at the time, and it felt awkward to use the space when we were right outside their window.The listing and communication says beach towels are available, but there were only 2. We used one for regular showers because we had 5 people and there were only 4 standard towels.The kitchen mostly had what we needed, but could benefit from having a few mixing style bowls.Overall it worked for us because we just needed a simple place to stay in between activities, but if you're expecting something more than that it may not be what you expect.
