Cottage au bord de l'eau avec couchers de soleil, bain Ă  remous et accĂšs au quai

Ce chalet est à quelques pas de l'eau dans la sereine Long Cove sur la riviÚre Damariscotta. Le pont et le bain à remous font face à la partie la plus large de la riviÚre (qui est en fait une baie large de l'océan) et au célÚbre coucher de soleil du Maine. Le quai et les rochers chauffés par le soleil donnent accÚs aux nageurs. Bien que autrement nichée dans les arbres, la maison possÚde une grande pelouse sur un cÎté pour croquet ou lancer une balle. Les roches de la riviÚre sont souvent couvertes de phoques.

Le chalet lui-mĂȘme est magnifiquement restaurĂ© - tout en bois Ă  l'intĂ©rieur et Ă  l'extĂ©rieur - avec un plan d'Ă©tage ouvert et des puits de lumiĂšre dans la cuisine. Presque tous les conforts de la maison sont fournis, y compris les draps et une cuisine entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e. Le bois est empilĂ© pour la cheminĂ©e toute l'annĂ©e.

Il existe un certain nombre de sentiers de randonnĂ©e Ă  proximitĂ©. Le lieu de location de kayak en ville livrera et / ou ramassera les kayaks. Vous pouvez louer en ville et faire du kayak au chalet; installation Ă  Biscay Pond et kayak Ă  travers les zones humides jusqu'Ă  Bristol; ou pagayez vers certaines Ăźles voisines avec un accĂšs public pour la randonnĂ©e, dont une avec une paire d'aigles Ă  tĂȘte blanche nicheurs. Ou apportez vos vĂ©los et colportez Ă  la plage ou au phare de Pemaquid. Il y a une grande casserole dans la cuisine si vous voulez acheter des homards Ă  la coopĂ©rative - ou ils les cuisineront pour vous lĂ -bas. La vie est belle au 'Marguerite’s Cottage'

Having stayed here a week in August with a friend, I understand why this cottage receives such stellar reviews--and I agree! The property's waterfront location is ideal - beautiful, woodsy, and private, while convenient to midcoast towns, attractions, with excellent outdoors and dining options nearby. Magnificent sunsets, peace and quiet day & night. Loved the deck overlooking the water, especially in the evening, and we appreciated the cottage's cleanliness and comfort. The varied birds and wildlife just outside its doors were an added bonus. A special place.

Great stay

Very nice property. Good hot tub. Enjoyed watching wildlife on the river, seals and a bald eagle. Would recommend as a vacation rental.

Lovely Cove side cottage

My dear collage friends and I have a yearly get away and this year we chose the coast of Maine. I found this lovely cottage in a protected cove on the Damriscotta River. Beautiful setting. The cottage was pine board and very cottage like. The kitchen had ample cooking supplies. My only word of caution would be is that the late afternoon sun sometimes makes it too warm to sit on the porch facing the cove. We would move the chairs to the side yard for shade. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay.

Amazing!

I was already longing to come back to this phenomenal spot before I ever left. It could not have been a better experience. Stellar view from the deck, as well as hot tub! All of my needs were met and exceeded, with a fully appointed kitchen. Not sure what else anyone could ask for with the rustic charm of this secluded gem in a fantastic location on the Mid-coast. With the solitude of an end-of-road location, I felt very much at peace, as well as safe. I hesitate to even write this review, as I truly wish for it to remain undiscovered. Can't wait to come back!

May getaway

I love everything about this property. It is right on the water and the beautiful views are maximized both inside and out. The cottage is charming, well equipped and very comfortable. The deck and hot tub are outstanding! There is no place I would rather be for relaxing with the tides, watching the birds and seals, kayaking, etc. I hope to go back many times!

Sweet Maine Cottage

This property is adorable and it has million dollar views. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen is great, and the sunsets are amazing. It is rustic and we loved that. No AC but the fans helped (only a problem in the late afternoon). The nights are very cool.

Peaceful escape

One of my favorite things about this rental was how quiet and peaceful it was. No noise from traffic, just the sounds of water and birds. The house was clean and provided all we needed to cook meals. Kirsten was very responsive to all questions I had. The view of the river is spectacular. Very reasonably priced for waterfront.

Excellent service and communication we cannot ask for more

We love the cottage very cozy make us feel like home. Just the right place to spend our anniversary tons of privacy. We were coming from Boston it was worth the drive. We recommend it. Beautiful stay in Maine!

This was our fist trip to Maine and the house was just perfect. Very clean, very secluded, quiet but only 15 minutes to Demariscotta where there are some cute restaurants and shops. We did a different hike every day and rented Kayaks from Mid Coast Kayak- they were delivered to the house for us. We paddled around and watched the seals lounge around on the rocks outside the house. Just a fantastic week. Thank you!

Perfect Maine vacation

This was our family’s first vacation to Maine, and it was everything we imagined. Kirsten’s property was ideally located, secluded, yet close enough to civilization. The house was rustic, yet spotless, well-stocked, and very comfortable. Our favorite parts of our trip were the view, the huge fireplace, the dock, and the central location on Maine’s mid coast allowing us to take day trips. Kirsten was quick to respond if I needed to ask a question. We will definitely return.

Perfect vacation

My husband and I have been coming back to Maine for many years every so often we love the property it was beautiful for the dogs . We saw a couple eagles. we saw the whole island of seals. the places we went for food and shopping were excellent and I have always loved Maine for the beautiful preserves and hiking trails.I slept better at the cottage than I did at home. Would love to come back to the cottage again .thank you.

Exploring Damariscotta

This was our families first stay in South Bristol. We wanted to explore mid coast Maine with our family. This area did not disappoint us. The cottage was clean, and had everything we needed to make the stay enjoyable. It was the perfect home base for us to explore the area. There were multiple hiking areas nearby for all levels of hikers in the family. The dock allowed us to enjoy our kayaks without having to travel with them. We loved watching the Damariscotta River birds, fish and seals from the cottage. The deck and dock have the most spectacular sunset views. Our hosts were exceptionallly hospitable. We had the most amazing stay and I cannot say enough about how grateful we are to have found this cottage. We will be staying here again!

Maine at it's Best!!!

Our stay was just wonderful. Everything we needed or wanted was there. Our last evening when using the outside shower was the best. I think we were hearing seals either fighting or mating. The amazing, scary groans and moans we have ever heard. But it was the fall equinox so who knows. Nature at it's best. A very friendly grey heron was often visiting nearby. Thank you very much for sharing your special place with us.

Perfect Anniversary Week

From the first step into the cottage I knew we had found a special place. As some one else said the pictures don't do the cottage justice. Very clean and welcoming. The deck is fantastic and you get the wonderful ambiance of being on a boat. Best of all for me was being a part of the wonderful creation of God. A Great Blue Heron comes and goes throughout the day and calls out to let you know this is actually his home. The harbor seals colony on the rocks out in the river woke me one starry night with their splashing, diving and calls. It was heavenly for me! Thanks you Kristen and family for sharing your wonderful cottage with my husband and me. Can't wait to come back soon!!!

Best cabin we’ve rented

This place was everything as promised. We woke up every morning and sat on the deck and watched the seals playing in the water and sunning on the rocks. Every night we had beautiful sunsets. We loved having the windows open and taking in the sea air. We had our 2 dogs with us and to the left of the cabin was a clearing that they loved running around and exploring. We have been coming to Maine for 18 years with our dogs and this was by far the best cabin we have had. If I could change one thing it would be that we wish we found this cabin sooner. There are tons of hiking trails nearby. The app All Trails helped us find the best ones. The south Bristol co op provided us with a delicious lobster dinner for a reasonable price. Thank you for allowing us to stay and we will definitely be back! Christie, Rob, Scarlett and Valor

Our family has lived in this area forever. Our granddad attended the one-room schoolhouse down the road and his father logged a good chunk of the peninsula (selling the land for a buck an acre (!) when he was done swinging his axe). So, this little slice of paradise has always been near and dear in our hearts.
