You'll love staying at Hidden Trails Retreat where relaxation is easy in our quiet and peaceful neighborhood. It is a short walk to Rumsey Park where you will find baseball, basketball, pickle ball, and tennis in addition to our hidden hiking/biking trails. We are also in the heart of Payson with great access to a variety of restaurants, bars, entertainment, and everything you need for a great getaway!

Amazing property. Comfortable stay all the way around. My only complaint is the knives in the kitchen were a bit dull, so if you plan on cooking most nights like we did it may be nice to get a decent knife. Other than that it was all great. Host was very communicative and laid out the town well in their guest book. Will for sure stay again.

The host provided very helpful information prior to our arrival and responded quickly when we had questions. The home was very clean and the mattresses were very comfortable! They had a terrific coffee/tea station with many options as well as a snack station. The only draw back was the fact that we did not have control of the thermostat and although the host responded quickly to our requests, it was less than ideal. I still would highly recommend staying here!

We had amazing experience here! We wanted to come to Payson for a short weekend trip to hike with our dogs and we were not disappointed. We felt very at home here, they go above and beyond with accommodations, and provide many different things that your pups might need! We will definitely be back

This house definitely feels like a home! Wonderful neighborhood with walking distance to a nice hiking trail, and every little detail was thought of to make the home entertaining and welcoming.

What an absolutely magical stay! From the moment we arrived, we felt the holiday spirit everywhere – the entire house was beautifully decorated for Christmas, with twinkling lights, two beautiful Chritmas trees, and the sweetest personal touch: stockings hung for grandkids visiting us for a day AND our puppy, each filled with treats and little surprises! There was candy everywhere (peppermint canes, chocolates, festive goodies) and our grandchildren were literally bouncing around like they’d walked into a real-life candy shop. It was pure joy watching their faces light up.The hosts were incredibly warm, child- and dog-friendly, and went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. The home had every comfort we could possibly need (and more!), and whenever we had a question the hosts responded almost instantly and took care of everything. This place made our trip extra special and created memories we’ll treasure forever. We can’t thank you enough and can’t wait to come back! Highly, highly recommend.

The fully fenced yard was the main feature we were looking for. There were lots of things to explore in the back yard for our dog. First time traveling with her and house /property worked out perfectly for us. A 9 x 13 baking pan would be a good addition to kitchen. Everything functioned and it was nice to have garage access for the car Jon was super responsive to our questions. Great new coded entry system. Thanks for having us!

10! Great cul-de-sac location, comfortable, so well stocked with everything you could want, dog-friendly, kid-friendly. Inside wonderfully decorated with something for everyone. Outside front porch my favorite spot, backyard multiple seating areas all were used for eating or quiet time. Host was great! Overall great rental! Will be back!

Amenities were awesome! The kitchen is full stocked.The fridge even had a Hot Sauce section. Shower was large and stocked as well. Backyard doggie friendly and very decorative. Neighborhood quiet with lots of birds. Neighbors were very friendly. Dog park was right down the road in walking distance. Easy access to all the stores, restaurants, etc from property.

The property was very inviting. Our stay was short but sweet. Very cozy and clean. We loved the unique touch of a snack basket. Internet worked wonderfully for us to work a little away from the office with a great connection. The rock painting was a very nice touch that I’m sure many families would have so much fun doing. There were many small touches that didn’t fit our needs, but were thoughtful and creative to add joy to many others stay! This rental would fit anyone’s Payson get away! Best part for us was the cool weather and the backyard lighting and ambiance.

Payson Trip

We had a very enjoyable stay at Hidden Trails Retreat. The home was very thoughtfully stocked with many items that you don’t often see in VRBO rentals. Very clean as other reviewers have mentioned. Our dog loved spending time in the backyard and the neighborhood was residential with friendly neighbors and we felt very comfortable going out for walks. Close to shopping. Jon and Sharon are wonderful hosts.

While this was great for just 2 people this house would also be great for families and larger groups. Very well stocked with games, puzzles, books, hiking picnicking and cookout gear etc. Nice quiet residential neighborhood yet close to shops and restaurants.Great communication with the owners.

Great Stay!!

We had an amazing time and couldnt have asked for better accomodations. Great location, quite neighhorhood, and close to everythjng Payson has to offer. As a bonus, the backyard was very enjoyable and our digs absolutely loved it. The fact that everything in the hone was useable was a huge plus too. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be returning if were ever in the area again.

My husband and I enjoyed our 2 week visit - looking for a getaway from a very hot Tucson! The home is in a lovely residential section, close to shopping, the public library, beautiful Green Valley Lake with hiking trails and tours of an extremely well done Rim County Museum and Zane Grey cabin, and short drive to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park. The home is clean and well supplied for cooking your own meals. The owners are excellent at communicating prior to arriving, during the stay with information about local events, and upon leaving.

Wonderful House

My husband and son in law work the rodeo every year so my daughter, grandson and myself came up too. I instantly loved the porch!! I spent most of my time with my grandson there. The house was very cozy, clean and had everything that we needed. Jon was quick to respond when we had questions. We appreciated the welcoming basket and the fudge! The beds were comfortable and all appliances/electronics that we used worked perfectly. I highly recommend this house and would stay there again.

Payson is the largest city with the best access to all parts of the Mogollon Rim which is known to some as a mini Grand Canyon for its beauty in nature. Our house provides unique access to the back country as well as every amenity in Payson. The physical house is set up to be perfect for entertaining and comfortable and relaxing. We have tried to provide every single amenity so that you do not have to waste any time shopping for anything but food. (and maybe propane) Our back yard is private and completely fenced so that you may enjoy your time with your family, kids of all ages, and your furry friends.
