Hello, it is very unfortunate that you did not find the location acceptable. The area did experience one of the worst hurricane's in US history and there is still homes being repaired. The area has done an incredible job with the repairs, but of course it will take some time until everything is back to 100%. The open land across from the house was also used to collect tree debris. Fortunately, they are almost done with the removal of that tree debris. We were fortunate that this home did not experience significant damage and we have been able to fix everything that was damaged before we began renting it out again. What you saw on the lamp post was not a city inspection report. It was a permit for the new roof. The roof has been completed; however, in Florida, new roofs require a city inspection. The inspectors in the area are running a bit behind and we are required to leave that sign up until the final inspection. Fortunately that inspection has been completed. My husband did leave you a message on the day of your arrival with his cell phone number, but you decided to leave instead of returning his call. You had also stated to us that you had contacted VRBO to report the situation. We are happily refunding your cleaning fee (which by the way we did pay to our cleaning crew since they were already scheduled), but were not willing to do so until we had gotten confirmation from VRBO that they were not stopping payment. You should see a refund for the full cleaning amount you paid. You say we can't rent in less than a week notice; however, at the same time you rented, I had 3 other rentals for the rest of the month of April and most of May. These months are typically booked a few years in advance, but given the hurricane, it was not the case this year. We hope you enjoy your future VRBO stays and are disappointed this home was not what you are looking for.
