Welcome to your mountain escape in Crestone, Colorado! Our modern 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom cabin is not just a place to stay; it's an experience waiting to unfold. Nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, our cabin offers the perfect blend of tranquility and modern comfort. Immerse yourself in the cozy ambiance of our beautifully furnished living spaces, designed for relaxation and rejuvenation. Our cabin offers panoramic views, free WiFi, and all the essentials to be your base camp for a quiet getaway, spiritual revival, Dark Skies odyssey, or adventures to the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Baca Wildlife Refuge, Joyful Journey Hot Springs, and Crestone’s many spiritual centers.

(Note: please add your dog to the reservation so we can charge the $50 pet-cleaning flat fee. If you do not and you bring a dog, we must bill by the hour for the additional cleaning, which at a minimum will be $50. Thank you!)

Perfect place to stay in Crestone

Such a beautiful house located the perfect distance from Crestone. We have stayed at several places in Crestone, and this one is by far our favorite.

Great VRBO

We had a great experience and the managers were attentive to our needs. Cleaned and cozy and the fireplace was a huge plus. Only thing to note is although it’s close to the dunes as the crow flies it still takes about an hour to get to driving.

Great Place

The house was very clean and it was in a great location by the mountains. We loved the quiet area. The hosts were in constant contact and answered all our questions in a timely manner. Highly recommended.

Nice place to stay for the night. Only downsides were no fan in the bathroom, and no TV. Otherwise, a very nice stay!

Great little place to stay!

The only demerit I have is: While, yes, the house is Minutes from the Great Sand Dunes, it's a good hour to get to the actual visitor center. The access they mention is to the back side of the dunes. Still amazing and let's you avoid tourist crowds, but my goal was to hike the tallest dunes which meant I had to drive to the other side.

Easy, comfortable getaway

The property was clean and well maintained, and the view from the back deck is gorgeous. There were a few minor things missing (pot holders, spoons), and the driveway is a bit rough to get in and out of, but overall a lovely place.

Cool place

It’s a drive to get to the house but well worth it. House is clean and furnished nicely. We cooked steaks and veggies on the stove and finished the night on the porch having a great time. Will recommend for people.

Excellent getaway!

This property is exactly like the pictures, except the night sky viewing is SO MUCH MORE than a picture can show! The house has everything you need for a relaxing getaway, including anything you may have forgotten for your dog. Every detail has been thought of. We enjoyed staying here!

Peace and Serenity

This little retreat is just as illustrated on the site. It is so peaceful and quiet in this location, and the views from the living and dining space is beautiful. The owners were gracious and communicative, and went out of their way to deliver two items we inadvertently left behind, for which we are so grateful! It was the perfect place for a short getaway to slow down, avoid screens and steep ourselves in peace and quiet.

Cozy and Clean

This home was well located in a nice neighborhood. Great location if visiting the sand dunes which is about an hour’s drive. Beds were comfortable. Beware in warm months…the house gets VERY warm and did not cool down at night. Washer was smelly/mildewy, so we decided not to take advantage of that amenity. Overall, a good stay.

Amazing dark sky experience!

If you are looking to get away from it all, unplug, unwind, or just see the millions of stars, this is your place! Being able to bring our 2 dogs with us was just the bonus we needed to book. The price, including all fees was reasonable and beat out other homes we looked into. Ted communicated all the details we needed before we even left home. He answered questions in a timely manner. Everything we needed was provided! Board games, card games, soap, shampoo, appliances, cookware, even a washer and dryer. 15 minutes to 2 different grocery stores. 1 hour to the Sand Dunes or Alamosa if you need some bigger city items or entertainment.

Relaxing time

The property was updated and well maintained. The windows are a major plus as they enable a fantastic view. Property opener was very responsive to our inquiries before arriving. All communication was timely. We did have a difficult time with mosquitos. We were there the first week of July. Local merchants indicated this year was the worse they ever experienced. This difficulty had nothing to do with the property or the owner. It simply was an environmental inconvenience. However, if you are planning to experience the Great Sand Dunes, there were zero mosquitos while sand boarding.

Hi! I’m Ted and together with my wife, Karen, am your host in Crestone. We’re Midwesterners by birth, and mountain-lovers by spirit. We met while trekking the Gobi desert in Mongolia and have moved 1,000s of miles ever since, usually following my job as a Marine Corps Officer, but always trying to locate near a great hospital for my wife’s career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We currently live and work in Baltimore, MD, and are still a few years from leaving the hustle of the city and the 9-5 (8-6!) to settle in our mountain home. So until then, welcome to our home and please enjoy the mountains, clean air, Dark Skies, wildlife, temples, and wonderful small-town vibe of Crestone!

We chose this relatively modern cottage for the cozy and home-y feel that its open concept and intimate family space provides — and for the views! We could just sit and stare at the peaks for hours, and hope you find it as inspiring and relaxing as we do!

We hope you will especially appreciate the interior paint scheme, rich flooring, and the swaths of natural light that bathe the house in brightness. We want to be attuned to nature, and the wall-to-wall windows and vast green space surrounding 3708 provide solitude and privacy. We plan to enhance the outdoor space with a privacy fence to the West, expanded patio and outdoor seating, and eventually a hot tub! So bookmark us and book us again as we continue to enhance the amenities and experience! Namaste!
