Charming cottage in Saint Remy de Provence, 4-5 people with pool and garden

Welcome to our beautiful cottage, located in a very quiet area of Saint Remy, at the end of a private street, 10min walk from downtown, 3min walk from the Convent “Saint Paul de Mausole” where Vincent Van Gogh spent some time while painting the area, and 5min away from the heart of the Alpilles for all of your favorite outdoor activities.
We've been hosting guests at our other property nearby for 15 years, and can't wait to host you in our newest cottage!

Saint Rémy de Provence is a typical Provencal village, located close to Avignon and the famous village of Les Baux de Provence. Take a stroll in the village and enjoy its stunning architecture, local lifestyle, delicacies, traditions and delicious restaurants. On Wednesdays, make sure to discover the Provencal market, one of the best in the area!


Inside The House:
The house has been fully refurbished in 2021 (including the pool and landscaped garden). It is very comfortable (no stairs!), and features a living room with a wood stove, a dining room for 6 people to eat in… or work remotely.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need to make your stay feel at home: a large fridge/freezer, oven and stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, iron, coffee maker, expresso maker, boiler, toaster.
There are two bedrooms with a sleep capacity of 4 people, and the sofas in the living room can serve as a bed for a 5th person if need be.

The first bedroom is South-facing and has a Queen size bed, a wardrobe for your personal effects and a little desk. The second bedroom, facing West, offers either a king size bed or two twin beds (depending on your sleeping arrangement needs) and a large wardrobe.

The bathroom is typical of French houses: we separate bathroom from toilet (due to our much smaller spaces, most likely!). You’ll be able to enjoy the large shower and plenty of cupboard space for your personal effects.


Outdoor:
What we love most about the house are the large French doors that open onto the South-facing patio. Bask in the sun or enjoy a barbecued meal on the plancha. Would you happen to prefer the shade in those hot summer afternoons, you’ll find a table and chairs to the back of the house, out of the kitchen.
Take a dip in the swimming pool (5x5m ) that has secured access, and lounge on it's long chairs. The landscaped garden is planted with an olive tree, lavender, rosemary, and flowers. A gardener takes care of it on a weekly basis.


Access:
You access the property through a private lane and there is enough space to park two cars. The house is a short 10-min walk from the village, which will make each of your trips very convenient.

This is a lovely cottage in St Remy. Nicely located near local attractions yet tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. This is also a great home base for broader area attractions. The pool and yard are well kept. We kitchen is well appointed for cooking meals. Host is responsive. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly located property for the town of St Remy. It felt like it was a in beautiful oasis of peaceful quietness, but was literally 10 mins walk from the centre of St Remy de Provence. We felt so privileged on Market day when so many visitors were trying to park and we just walked into town as locals. The house was very well furnished.. much better than with we've been used too. The beds were really comfortable.everything worked well and it felt as though the hosts had pushed the boat out to make sure that we had a quality experience. We will definitely come back to this property in future.

Fabulous property.

Fabulous property. It was lovely, quiet and very Provencal. It was perhaps the best equipped house in terms of kitchen implements that I have ever rented so this made having some meals in very easy. The beds were comfortable as was the living area. The owners say you can walk to town, but it would have been quite a hike. Maybe when we were younger...We had the good fortune of seeing one of their cactus flowers open for its one day, one more special memory of this place.

Slice of paradise

We stayed in this lovely house created by Anne-Sophie and Neil with tasteful decor and comfortable furnishings. We hated to leave, especially after experiencing the magnificent garden coming alive in spring. The web site does not do justice to the garden. The kitchen is perfectly outfitted for people who like to cook as we do. We really could not be happier with the arrangement and hope to return next year.

Sehr schönes Anwesen, toller Urlaub!

Das Haus liegt in einem schönen und sehr ruhigen Wohngebiet am Rand von St. Remy. Durch das automatische Tor fühlt man sich sehr sicher! Der Garten mit Pool ist wunderschön mediterran angelegt. Das Haus ist zweckmäßig - ohne Fernseher - eingerichtet; man vermisst absolut nichts! Die Matratzen in den Betten waren super! Der Check-In und Check-Out sind grandios einfach. Die Kommunikation mit den Vermietern war ausgesprochen nett, Anfragen wurden per Email oder Telefon umgehend beantwortet. Radfahren in den Alpillen war ein Highlight. Ausflugsziele wie Camargue, Marseille, Nimes, Luberon, Pont du Gard, Roussillon, Avignon usw. sind in ca. 1 Autostunde gut erreichbar. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen!! Vielen Dank an Anne-Sophie und Neil!!

Jolie petite maison de Provence

Jolie petite maison bien située à 15min à pied du centre ville de St Rémy. Très calme dans le fond d'une impasse. Bien équipée avec une très jolie piscine et un jardin très agréable. La procédure d'entrée est classique : boite à clé, la maison était très propre rien à redire. Très bonne communication avec Sophie. Quelques petites améliorations seraient bienvenues : le wifi ne capte pas à l'extérieur de la maison et le réseau classique est très faible, il n'y a pas de TV et pas de clim, nous avons eu un peu chaud la nuit :). Il y a néanmoins des ventilateurs... Bref tout cela est surmontable surtout dans un aussi bel endroit que la Provence. A réserver les yeux fermés.

Idilic stay

The house is located a short walk (15 - 20mins) from St Remy’s lovely restaurants and cafes but is far enough for you to enjoy some peace and quiet. The house was brilliantly set up with everything you could possibly need. The garden and pool were perfect and enjoyed all day sun. Highly recommend staying here!

Our stay in St Remy

Loved our stay in this house and loved St Remy and the surrounding area. The kitchen was fantastic and very well equipped. We also made good use of the outdoor grill which was easy to use. The bathroom has a great shower but it is starting to look tired. All in all we had a fantastic time.

A charming cottage in St. Remy

The house is lovely, and we enjoyed eating dinner outside in the garden. Cooling off in the pool after a day of sightseeing was perfect. While we did have dinner in town one night, the cottage’s kitchen and grill are perfect to cook a fresh, delicious dinner.

A little slice of heaven

St. Rémy was the perfect home-base for our week-long sojourn in the South. The whole town was beautiful and everyone we had encountered were warm and friendly. The cottage was amazing; the pictures could not do it justice. My guys and I looked forward to hanging out in the yard or to swimming at the end of a very long day. We love St. Rémy and the cottage so much that we will definitely go back.

Wunderschönes Haus in top Lage!

Ein tolles, liebevoll und stilvoll eingerichtetes Haus mit allem was man braucht. Insbesondere die Küche hat lässt keine Wünsche offen. Der Garten, sowie Terrasse und Pool sind ebenso toll gestaltet und in einem top Zustand. Insbesondere für Familien ein tolles Haus. Die Lage, fussläufig ins Städtchen oder auf eine Wandertour in die Alpillen, ist einfach super. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und jederzeit erreichbar.

We are Anne-Sophie and Neil, a French-Canadian couple. Anne-Sophie has been vacationing in Saint Remy de Provence for the past 25 years and introduced Neil to it when he travelled to Provence for the first time in 2015. He immediately fell in love with the area and when, in 2020, we had the opportunity to purchase what we affectionately call “Le Petit Saint Rémy”, we jumped on it!
We spent 2021 renovating the house, building the pool and planting the garden (the last project will be a new and improved bathroom for the Fall!). While we have 10-year experience with hosting a larger nearby rental (up to 10 guests ), we are ready and excited to welcome our first guests in our charming cottage !

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

We love everything about this area of Provence! The light, the smells, the markets, the Alpilles, the culture, a short day-trip to the sea ,… It truly has it all!
Besides, the house is perfectly located: thanks to a little walking path, we are 5min away from walking under the shaded trees of the Alpilles, and we’re only 10min walk from downtown Saint Remy (which is highly convenient on these crowded market days!). Being at the end of a private lane in a private street, it is very quiet and in the evening you can enjoy the famous starry nights!
We love the size of the house, which is comfortable for a couple or a small family, that encourages some lounging around and makes moving around to go see the area very convenient.
Finally, Saint Remy is lovely and lively, traditional and modern at the same time, cultural and gastronomic,… It has it all! Conveniently located 20min drive from the train Station Avignon TGV, and 1hr and 2hr respectively from Marseille and Nice airports, it is ideal to access.

The open-air provencal market (on Wednesdays in Saint Rémy): this regionally well-known market will offer you a varied choice of fresh products, provencal fabrics, locally produced olive oil. You will be amazed by the profusion of colors and scents which will submerge you!
You will love to prepare decadent boards of beautiful fresh produces, or cook them, provencal-style, in the fully-equipped kitchen.
The Alpilles Hills: Only 5-min walk from the house, these hills are an outdoor-enthusiast paradise! Hike, mountain bike, run, climb, you have it all. Road bikers also enjoy the unique landscapes of Provence and can bike from the challenging Mont Ventoux to the flat Camargue.
Walking from Saint Rémy to les Baux de Provence: Walk along the “route des crêtes” from Saint Remy to les Baux de Provence (2hrs), where you’ll enjoy an amazing view of the entire region. Perfect for photography enthusiasts! Once in Les Baux, don't forget to visit the Cathedrale de Lumières, a unique sound and light show located in former quarries.
The Golf courses: There are several beautiful golf courses in the area, such as in les Baux de Provence (18 holes: Domaine de Manville) or Mouriès (18 holes: Domaine de Servanes, our favourite, a magical place)
