Cozy cottage within walking distance of almost everything
Come and enjoy yourself in our semi-detached cottage during your stay in the heart of Amish country. Located close to everything while still being on a quiet street. Enjoy your morning coffee on our newly constructed covered deck located at the back of the house or take a quick walk down the street and allow the Bluegate Restaurant to make it for you. We are close to multiple playgrounds, miles of beautiful paved walking and biking paths, downtown shops and of course the flea market. There is a full service kitchen including a replica vintage stove. The master bedroom is located on the main floor off of the kitchen diner. It contains a queen bed and en-suite with both a shower and stand alone tub. While located on the first floor the master bedroom does a have a slight 2" step up. The second bathroom can be found at the bottom of the stairs just off of the living room. There is a queen bed hidden in the sofa. Up the stairs you will find bedroom #2 with a double bed and bedroom #3 with 2 twin beds. While these bedrooms are not connected with the central air system, each room has a window a/c to make sure that everyone sleeps comfortably even on the hottest night. Through the kitchen we have a recently renovated laundry room.
House was clean and the location is good. Linens were musty and the sidewalks and entrance to the house were icy and a bit dangerous. There was no salt available to put down.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and two blocks off the main road (state road 5) close to the Blue Gate restaurant. Very quiet and plenty of room for our entire group. Both bathrooms on the main floor which was a little challenging for the ones that stayed in the upstair bedrooms but worked for our short stay. Definitely would stay here again on a future trip to Shipshewana.
This place was perfect for our mother daughter getaway. It was clean and comfortable. Beautiful outdoor space. Loved that we could walk all around town. Owner was helpful and quick to respond when I had parking questions.
Cozy but spacious, especially living room and two dining areas and a large covered deck area looking over the lovely flower garden; well supplied and clean with good communication from host.
The bike trail and shopping are so close. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with a great outdoor space to relax after a full day. The host is very responsive.
We enjoyed our stay here. It was quite spacious and you canât beat the location. A beautiful back porch and garden area. Very clean. Very quiet except for the occasional soothing clip clop of horse hooves. We did a little food prep and everything was there we needed. Thereâs a keurig that brews a pot or k-cups. Weâre not complaining only suggesting mattresses could use an upgrade! My friend and I love books especially The Good Book and we loved the selection of books on the shelves! Two dining tables was nice. Thanks for sharing your grandmaâs house with others!
The location was perfect for all the downtown shops and attractions! Very quiet street and neighborhood. The property was so clean and cozy! Highly recommend!
we loved our stay here. If weâre ever in Shipshewana again we would want to stay here. It would have nice to meet Jessica. But in spite of the rain we had a good time.
Very nice home, worked well for six adults.Really enjoyed the covered deck in the back that we could plan our day in the morning and relax and recall in the evening. Our only concern at first was parking on the street but it was no problem.
Raised in Shipshewana, I have loved exploring this town and the surrounding areas. I actually attended the elementary school located just down the street. After getting married I moved to a town nearby but love to take our 3 young kids to "Shipshe" regularly.
This cottage was where my grandmother called home for 30+ years. It is filled with so many fond memories for myself and my entire family. It is our hope that this house can continue to fill many other hearts and minds with wonderful memories of times shared together.
