Being a guest at Villa Mara is an unforgettable experience. The view over the coast between Olhão in the east and far into the west is breathtaking on a clear day.
Almost countless places invite you to linger and marvel. Already in the morning from the bed, during breakfast at the dining table, in between on the roof terrace, with a snack at noon by the pool, in the afternoon on the Boules court, with a barbecue under the pergola or on the veranda into the night - you always have these wonderful view.
The property is in an exclusive location on a hill on the edge of the highest mountain in the Eastern Algarve, the "São Miguel". The various terraces are not visible from the neighbours and so you can enjoy 100% privacy with a pleasant rest. Many trees and shrubs typical of the Algarve surround the stony land and provide a natural habitat for birds, cicadas and geckos.
The well maintained house has the living area on the upper floor. You enter the villa on the north side. The spacious hallway leads to the well equipped kitchen as well as the utility room with washer and dryer.
The bright living room is of course in a preferred south facing position. The cosy sofa set by the fireplace and the large dining table can be found here as well as the "conservatory", which was once the terrace and where you can now use all year round the various seating for reading, listening or philosophising. Of course, overlooking the blue Atlantic.
In the side wings are bedrooms and bathrooms. To the left of the master bedroom with en suite bathroom and to the right two bedrooms sharing a shower room in the middle. Two of the three bedrooms have a terrace access and sea views.

An outdoor staircase leads to the pool area via the 45m² veranda with two electric awnings and a round dining table. The large saltwater pool is well maintained and offers all around moorings and seating, either in the sun or in the shade. Here in the basement is also the fourth bedroom that can be booked with occupancy of more than 6 people. It has its own bathroom en suite.
Holiday at Villa Mara is as attractive for a couple as for a group of up to 8 people. Each guest will find their favourite spot to linger and, if needed, meet at one of the many tables for a meal or a game, a game of bowls or a dip in the pool ... This is how vacation goes!
For shopping you have the choice between the friendly town of "São Brás de Alportel" in the hinterland (9km), the smaller towns of Estoi and Moncarapacho (5 or 9km) or the bustling port city of Olhão with its famous market (10km). Faro also offers a variety of shopping opportunities both in the city centre and in the surrounding area.
Beaches are reached in a star shape all over the coast (for instance Praia de Faro or Praia da Fuseta (17km each).
The nearest golf courses are "São Lorenço" at Almancil (about 25km) or "Benamor" at Tavira (about 30km).
