I made these reservations thinking it would be a nice time with my immediate family. My father has been sick and passed on December 6, so just a quick little getaway after Christmas. It was a mess right from the beginning. We were informed by the cleaning staff that the âbrand newâ hot tub (as advertised on VBRO) was not working. Upon walking it, I immediately noticed the shabby towels, no wash clothes, and the Big Lot furnishings. Later realized we had no water. Apparently it was run out when the cleaning staff attempted to refill the hot tub. We had no water the first 24 hours and it dribbled after a couple of showers or after running dish washer. The host stated they were coming to refill reservoir (seriously). Never happened. Every closet door was broken off and stuck in closet. There was no front panel on kitchen sink. No blinds or curtains on any of the windows (yes, three neighbor houses in close proximity). The screening on porch has been removed but the wood is still on the floor. The fireplace does not work. The hot tub was never operational, although the owner stated a hot tub technician was onthe way. Technician never arrived. There was no smoke detector. The air vents were filthy. Half the lights did not work. Very poorly stocked pots/pans. One pot holder. Just pitiful. The âhostâ told me he was not the owner, although his last name is in the cabin. This was by far the biggest VBRO disappointment ever. Now I know why no recent reviews.
