Escape to Our Dog-Friendly Cottage in Washington Depot!

Charming rural cabin in beautiful Washington Depot, Connecticut.

This property is situated high on a hill above the road. The cottage is recently remodeled from top to bottom. It has lots of vintage charm but combined with a modern stove, fridge and bathroom.

There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and walk-in closet. The second has a queen bed with a washer and dryer in closet area. Both have dressers, night stands and plenty of space to stretch out.

The kitchen includes a coffee maker (French Press), toaster, electric tea kettle and all the pots and pans you might need.

The town of Washington Depot was the inspiration for "Starry Hollow" on the show Gilmore Girls, and it's the quintessential New England town. A large percentage of the town is dedicated to open space preservation, and there is a beautiful lake and river in town.

This is about 2.5 hours drive north of New York City and about 3 hours from Boston. The best train route is the MTA Harlem line to Brewster, although it is a 40-mile drive from there.

Darling cottage on a charming property with horses and a beautiful barn

This cottage was wonderful for me and my son to stay in while visiting relatives close by. It was quiet and on the most lovely property.

Beautiful cottage

The property was beautifully maintained and bathroom and kitchen looked recently renovated. We had plenty of space for 3 of us, making it possible to spend a relaxing July weekend for Litchfield Jazz Festival.

Peaceful and perfect

Krissy’s property is exceptional. The cottage was very comfortable and everything you would need for an enjoyable stay was provided. Washington is a quaint town with lots of local color and plenty of things to do. We would love to stay again.

A most beautiful cottage in idyllic setting

This 100+ year old cottage has been renovated with love and care. The details are beautiful and the space is warm and welcoming. The setting is lovely. The host absolutely delightful. Unfortunately I was not able to stay more than one night because I was not aware that the beds were very high, and I am short and have a back condition that makes climbing up into a high bed difficult. For an individual, couple or pair of couples without any mobility issues, this would be a perfect setting. The stone stairs leading to the front door are tall and challenging to manage if you have any mobility issues, but there is a work-around that enables walking just a bit further across a bit of lawn to get there without stairs, so it's definitely manageable. If I had ease of movement (or were a lot taller!), I would return there in a heartbeat. One of the most delightful VRBO's I've ever stayed at!

We had a very nice few days here. Nice, comfortable place with deer wandering through and horses nearby. We loved it!

Breath taking

We were truly amazed by this property, Waking up to the sunrise , absolutely priceless. There is a gorgeous walking trail just behind the property . Loved it . The host was super nice and sweet , Definitely had everything we needed and then some . We will definitely come back
