Wonderful experience with terrific hosts. If you want to stay at a place with great internet connection this place is not for you, but if you are looking for a quiet place close to the park to unplug and enjoy the scenery-it is perfect. Don't forget to check out the night sky--the stars are spectacular. Thank you, Laurieann and Gary!

The entire stay was wonderful. Gary was helpful in every way. The fresh farm eggs waiting for us in the fridge were a very pleasant and welcome surprise. The views of the San Juan Mountains and surrounding areas were incredible. The property is off the beaten path and was so peaceful and quiet. The only downside to our stay was that we weren’t able to stay longer!

Nice little cottage located on an old working farm with horses. Beautiful view of the valley, farmland and mountains. The cottage was simple and comfortable. We especially enjoyed building a bonfire and enjoying the evening outdoors each evening. The hosts were welcoming and joined us around the bonfire one evening. The wooden staircase to the bedroom was doable. Location was four miles from entrance to Grand Canyon of the Gunnison NP and 25 minutes from Montrose, CO.

Overall the cottage is very cute. We enjoyed the horses. Things we didn’t realize was no TV or wifi. The hosts are super nice and helpful to anything you need.

Our three nights at the cottage were relaxing and enjoyable. The location was exactly what we were looking for when we explored a booking in this area. The ride to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison was very short and a day trip to Ouray was a beautiful drive. Everywhere we went the scenery was “WOW”. We also got lucky that the East Portal Road to the bottom of the canyon opened back up two days before we arrived. We found out the day we entered the park. That is an awesome drive and it was a huge plus for that adventure.Gary was very personable, polite, and funny. He offered us a lot of helpful information about places to eat and also a scenic drive back to Durango that took us by Telluride. He was available each day as he did his chores around the ranch, but was not at all intrusive.Although being unplugged for the most part has its advantages, the Wi-Fi was at times nonexistent or unreliable. The best place to stay connected was the middle of the driveway. With today’s technology that’s an easy fix. So, if you’re looking to get away from the bright lights and to be unplugged, this would be an excellent choice.

Relaxing stay. Gary and LaurieAnn were so friendly and the location was incredibly peaceful. Convenient location for visiting the south rim. Great views of elk on the western ridge and San Juans to the south.

Home on the Ranch

Fabulous place. Wonderful stay. We were looking for some quiet time off the grid and this place fit the bill perfectly. Best part was how close it is to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
