Hi Subba! I apologize that you had to pay for the damages that you and your friends caused to my property, but unfortunately that is what happens when items are destroyed and need replaced/fixed. Bed spreads, sheets, throw pillows, cooking utensils, towels, wash cloths, rugs, and a new stove top all had to be replaced due to the condition that you left the camper in. Not to mention, there was extensive cleaning that was required after you checked out. Fortunately for you guys, you were not required to cover all of damages. For example, one of the costs that I didn't charge you for is the $150 service technician call after you avoided using 3 rolls of toilet paper (that were provided and later found in 4" of water in the bathroom trash can) and opted for napkins instead, which nearly caused a replacement of the entire toilet as you know. When you rent someone's property you agree to take care of their space per VRBO guidelines. By going against the guidelines that you agreed to when creating your account, you are responsible to cover the cost of damages caused during your stay by you and your guests. While I know that it is unfortunate that you had to cover the majority of the amount of your damages, it is not fair to make me, the host, pay for your damage and replacements due solely to neglect and disrespect. To avoid having to pay for any damage while renting someone's property in the future, I would recommend treating someone else's property as you would expect them to treat your own. Lastly, the camper is located in a family friendly campgrounds with seasonal renters. All renters pay to be there and the campgrounds is family oriented. While this is the first that I am hearing about someone knocking on your door, if this did occur I am sure it was a misunderstanding as the campgrounds is extremely safe and under management. Not to mention, 80% of the seasonal renters have been there since the campgrounds opened over 20 years ago. I heard no reports of this behavior from the manager or the neighboring RV's.
