I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. I was in touch with you as soon as I could be and I refunded part of your stay at a personal financial loss to me, despite my clear cancellation guidelines, and this review is what I got in return. When windows are left open, which one was, bugs will come in the house. We stayed at the home ourselves this past week and had no issues with bugs. There are window air conditioner units in the home due to the condenser for the central air that is failing and struggling. They actually work better at cooling the house than the central air did. The home is two levels and one zone and the central air always struggled to cool the upstairs bedrooms. We previously had asked the cleaners to leave condiments behind so renters could take advantage of an almost full bottle of ketchup, but we will no longer do that which is unfortunate because it feels wasteful and now renters will have to buy all new or bring with them. The neighborhood has four private beaches, all walking distance, one is along the main road, one is along a side street, and two are down the bluff and completely away from the road. Like most beach communities, the homes are close together, and while that is true here also, there is a large private backyard, and plenty of parking for up to 4 cars at the front of the home. It’s disappointing to me, as an independent home and business owner trying hard to keep this going, that even after I allowed you to check in early and refunded you a portion of your stay at a personal loss to me (I remain responsible for fees, cleaning, utilities, property taxes, a mortgage, and hotel taxes in the town even though you chose to leave), that you chose to write this review that could impact me more than this experience already has. Parkwood is a special place, and my family enjoys our stays here as have every other one of our many guests over the years. Experiences like this are very disappointing and feel unfair. Again, I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay, but I do not feel I or my home deserve the review you wrote.
