Cozy Home nestled in the heart of Leelanau County

An all seasons getaway nestled in the heart of Leelanau County. It is the perfect location between Glen Arbor, Leland, and Suttons Bay. Bohemian Beach on Good Harbor Bay is a short car or bike ride away. Adventure seekers will have plenty to do with numerous nationally acclaimed hiking and mountain biking trails nearby, golfing, and a pick of smaller lakes to fish and enjoy. Sunset beach walks and daytime dune climbing are close as well. After a long day relax on the patio or enjoy a campfire!
The space
Renamed "Heroes Lodge" this home was originally built for the Maple City American Legion. This space holds fond memories of comradery and celebrations to our Local Heroes. The main floor is open and airy with a mid century Americana nod. Original warm oak floors and unique furnishings give a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen and dining area are open to the living area with the master suite on the main floor as well.
Two bedrooms, a full bath, and entertaining/game space on the lower walk out level. The well equipped kitchen is bright and a cheery with some of the original fixtures that give it the an "upnorth" vintage vibe.
Guest access
The home is on 3 acres of wooded land. There is plenty of parking for cars and boats. The laundry is located on the lower level for guest to use. We use this as our personal cottage as well and our camper and boat are on this site when not being used.

superb rental house.

The house was even better inside than expected. The stay was very comfortable and would enjoy another trip when we could explore the area better. There is so much to do in this area of northern Michigan.

Amazing place in an amazing place

We have been vacationing Up North every year and love the people and the places. This wonderful, comfortable, interesting and exceptionally beautiful house was the most delightful we’ve ever visited. Absolutely unique and absolutely special; 3 great bedrooms, gorgeous baths, convivial dining space, fantastic outdoor space- we felt at home and hated to leave. One of the most memorable vacations ever in this special place. Thank you so much, Rebecca and Ross!

Close to Homestead

We needed a place to stay for 6 adults for a family wedding at the Homestead. This place is 10 mins away! It is the most beautiful home we have ever rented. Tons of space! So much better than renting at the Homestead.

Super cool house in a great location

We loved staying at the Rebecca's home. The house was extremely comfortable. It stayed extremely cool in all the bedrooms and the mattresses were amazing. We spend a lot of time outside, biking, walking and mostly beaching so this was wonderful for our family of 5. We grilled every day on the back porch. It was a great house!

Beautiful stay in a beautiful area

What a wonderful trip at such a unique location. Rebecca and Ross have done a great job updating the American Legion while maintaining the history. The space is way larger than in the photos and everyone had plenty of space to stretch out and have their own area. Communication and graciousness with Rebecca has been the best out of any rental we have done in the past. Already looking for 2024 dates.

Maple City Magic

We had a wonderful stay in Maple City. I’m the house was very clean and updated. There was plenty of space for the family to relax. Also, Rebecca was very communicative and responsive. We had an issue with the dryer the first day and within 24 hours there was a new one installed quickly while we were at dinner. I would definitely recommend this property again.

Heroes Lodge could not have been more perfect for a weekend up north! Absolutely loved it! Place was super clean, stocked with anything one may need. The fact that it is a renovated American Legion lodge just made it even more cool! The old ledgers, notes, uniform, helmet, flag, etc was so interesting to see! Would absolutely stay here again.
