I don’t really understand why we have such issues on this app. For anyone who is reading this, I would encourage you to visit our cottages on the other app. I can’t name it here, but I’m sure everyone would know which one I’m speaking of. On it we have over 50 reviews from people who have had incredible experiences staying with us. We are a guest favorite and have been for years I understand that we all have different ideas of what we want for “our happy place” and I get that. That’s ok. And obviously this was not the right fit for this gentleman. But we had to wait almost 8 months for that sod to be placed. We have had to do a lot of restoration since the hurricane. No manure was put down. He was smelling the fertilizer from the orange grooves that are all around us. I’m sorry the timing was off for him, but to verbally abuse me because we had not mowed the sod we had just laid is not ok. Our landscaper asked us to wait a week before mowing. To let the sod get established. These cottages have been in our family for over 60 plus years. We have painstakingly restored and remodeled them while trying to maintain the integrity of the original cottage vibe. We love them, and we love to share them with people who feel the same. I know that opening the back door of this cottage and putting your toes in the sand, and listening to the water lap up on the shore, that is our happy place. It’s a place where God shows up, and allows us to recharge our souls. Under the great oak trees planted nearly 80 years ago we find our peace. It’s not a perfect place, it’s quirky and filled with treasures I’ve collected in my travels around the world. And it is “our happy place” And for those who are still here reading this, I encourage you to message me. I’ll make sure you have a great experience at an even better value. People can be so flippant and cruel. With a keyboard and a few moments, they can try to destroy something beautiful that we have spent years building. I encourage everyone again to visit the other websites and read the reviews, before listening to the voice of one person.

Sorry that you felt the need to write such an inaccurate description of you time at our property. Unfortunately, after I had to confront you about the mess you left for the cleaning crew, the extra fees I was charged to clean up after your family, the complaints charged against you from the other guest about stealing his laundry detergent as well as floats for the lake, as well as spices missing during the inventory checklist on the cottage you rented, and physical proof from the other renter that he did not leave his dog droppings in the backyard, I would say it was not a pleasurable experience for any of us to have you or your family at the lake, and we will definitely not be having you back. I would caution any potential owners against having you at their properties in the future as well.
