4-Bedroom Townhome with Beach Access and 300ft of Private Beach!

Southbay by the Gulf #11 is 3-story unit with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The 1st floor bedroom is set up like its own apartment with a dining table, access to the Patio/Community Pool, and a large living space. The main level features the Living Room, Dining Room, and Kitchen. The 3rd Floor features 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. This unit is on the North side of the lake and is a short walk to the beach.

Southbay by the Gulf is a quaint little townhome community located on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This secluded property offers such a variety of vacation homes; you will be drawn back, time after memorable time. Southbay has 2 swimming pools and 2 kiddy pools; we heat the south pool seasonally. If it's tennis that you love, we have that too. Our grounds are made for walking so park at your front door and enjoy a stroll through the property while feeding the birds, fish and turtles.

Sunshine & Relaxation

We had a great stay at the Southbay property. It was nice that there was a cooler & a wagon to take to the beach everyday. The walk to the beach is maybe 10 minutes. You don’t have to worry about traffic because it’s though the Southbay property and other properties bordering it. If staying here bring your own beach chairs. The chairs are quite pricey at the beach. The gentleman who we rented the chairs from on the beach said some units have complimentary ones, he said ours did not. The pool was nice that was right off our back deck but it wasn’t heated so it was quite chilly. It was fine to sit poolside though. The other pool located on the Southbay property is on the walk to get to the beach is heated. The Destin/ Ft. Walton Beach VPS airport is a half hour drive from the Southbay property. The airport that is stated as being a 4-5 minute drive is a private airport. There are many things that are in walking distance for entertainment, places to eat, get groceries, shop, etc. We would stay here again. We enjoyed that it was low key and we could all relax.

Close to everything

This property worked great for our family. There was room to gather to eat, play games and watch TV on the main floor and then quieter bedroom areas on the lower and upper floors. It was nice to have a balcony and the walk to the beach is very reasonable for adults (maybe a little trickier with small kids). The front bedroom had some noise at night from the road, but otherwise we were close to all the stores and restaurants which was nice.

Beach vacation

Great place to stay, clean and stocked. convenient for shopping, and eating places. Beach was farther away than expected . Con - no bathroom on main floor. Appreciated the games for the kids.

Not what I expected

It’s a beautiful area. But I miss understood so much about the property. It was very well stocked, located very close to stores. But the picture of the property online is somewhat deceiving. The access to the beach was not easy to find, it was not explained to us . This unit is number 11 the farthest from the beach . There are at least 132 units that I saw. So our unit was farthest from the beach. You have to go through gates to access the beach . The codes had not been changed so we had a hard time getting in the first time. Then in our unit , there is no bathroom on the main floor where the living room and kitchen is located. You have to go up or down stairs every time to use the restroom. . The downstairs smelled bad all week, like mildew. . All the furniture is for tall people. I’m 5’e and all the chairs were uncomfortable, even with pillows to support your back. Over all I think this unit was misrepresented, it was not at all what I expected from the picture of the property you represented.If I ever go back I’d want the unit 131 it’s right on the beach!

2024 Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay! The property was easy to find and in a great location on the strip. The property had enough room to accommodate 10 people. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities! I would recommend adding more lighting to the swimming pool area.

Townhome for the perfect family getaway!

I looked at a lot of places for our week long stay in Destin and decided on this townhome. My family consisted of myself, my husband, my parents, 3 teenage girls and 2 younger girls and this rental provided enough space for us all to spread out. The townhome is older but well kept, and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the charcoal grill came in handy when feeding a lot of people. One thing to note is that there is no bathroom on the main floor. This was not an issue for us, but could be for those who can’t do steps. This unit overlooks one of the pools (non heated) so we were able to sit on the lower level deck and watch the kids swim. The pool is big and goes to 8 1/2 feet. Location wise, this set of townhomes is adjacent to the private beach, but this specific until is street facing at the front of the complex. We enjoyed being near the street for easy access to the stores/restaurants next door and having the pool directly out back. The 5-8 minute walk to the beach consists of walking across a beautiful bridge that is well lit at night, past the heated pool, and through a parking lot - all part of the same property. The beach wagon and chairs provided were very useful. All and all, it was perfect for what we needed at a great price. Would stay again.
