We were there for only a short time - chose this VRBO over hotel so the 5 of us could stay together while traveling in to Kansas City. Nice place.

Perfect getaway

This house was full of charm. Spacious rooms and bathrooms and near downtown Mt Vernon. It was a quiet location and perfect for a getaway to rest and relax. The house had everything one would need to make them feel at home. Will definitely book again.

Perfect stay

Our family travelled from all over to attend a funeral that was held at Hughey Funeral Home which was actually in walking distance from the house. Shopping and visiting other family members living in the city was convenient. The house had huge clean rooms and the kitchen was stocked with the necessities. I will definitely stay here again.

The property was advertised as having access to a washer/dryer. There was no access to a washer/dryer. Other than that, it was a clean place.

Great Stay

We enjoyed the home and all of the little touches to make us feel welcome. We didn’t realize there wasn't laundry on site, but that is because we missed looking for that in the listing. I think having that would make this home complete.

Hot Air Balloons

We met with family for the Centraila hot air balloon festival. We also were celebrating my sister who is in the final stages of her cancer fight. Just spending time with her was so sweet and it was a beautiful home to share memories in.

It was so homey, all that was missing was patio furniture, maybe a swing chair in the front porch . Something outside would have made it rememberable , and definitely new carpeting , due to the old smell, would definitely stay there again

I came to visit with family for an early christmas. All of the decor was pretty much exactly as expected. An retro style home with a comfortable little setting

Spacious and Grand

We played pool, walked around the neighborhood, and chilled out on the couch. We all drooled over the retro kitchen, the paneled Billiard room, and the lovely rooms. I kept forgetting we were in a 1950 slab except in the kitchen. We would have enjoyed some out door furniture and a swing to relax in with our morning coffee though. If we ever need to stay in Mount Vernon again we know where to go!!! Thank you so much for this wonderful stay.

Visiting Son

We were only there mostly to sleep and shower. The one shower head wasn’t working properly and the only other thing was that I lost an earring and had to look under my bed. It was caked with dust and hairs. If I would’ve had a long duster I would have cleaned it. Thank you for the chips and water!
