A lovely home, an incredible back yard and pool that made for amazing family time, and so well equipped for guests, including children. Shona and Barry are very gracious and took so much care to make our stay easy and special.

First of all, our host couple was very friendly, helpful and accommodating to our needs. The house was as described and lovely. I truly enjoyed all the historic details without sacrificing comfort at all. Everything was clean, neat and all amenities, especially the kitchen were updated, fully equipped and quite easy to use! We enjoyed our stay immensely and of course La Jolla is just beautiful and downtown San Diego only an Uber away! Thank you Shona and Barry

Great place for families staying in La Jolla

Great location, super nice pool especially. Owners were very helpful providing good recommendations for the area and lots of amenities for our 2 young kids.

Loved this house for our one-week visit to San Diego! The home, although a historical gem, has all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay. We took advantage of the short walk to the beach as well as to the shops and restaurants in La Jolla. Highly recommend!

Relaxing Family Weekend

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful historical home in La Jolla. It was incredibly relaxing—super clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The amenities were fantastic, especially for families, with plenty of kids’ toys and beach gear. The pool was a highlight, and the beds were very comfortable. A perfect spot for a restful and fun getaway!

Amazing Location, Fantastic Home, Incredible Hosts

We were delighted with the property, location and experience for our getaway. The home and property are amazing - we enjoyed cooking in an incredibly well equipped kitchen, playing in the pool and walking to the beach. Perfect location for our family vacation. Many things to do, restaurants to choose. The house was perfect size for three couples to spread out and enjoy their own space, by the pool, den, study, garden.

Amazing house

We had a wonderful stay at this La Jolla home. The house is beautiful and well kept. The pool and backyard garden area is exceptional. The location in La Jolla is really great. The hosts were very attentive and eager to help if we needed anything. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay

We had an incredible stay at Shona’s house. It was so incredibly well stocked- from pool toys to kids books to beach equipment to everything you would ever need in the kitchen. Shona was such a kind and courteous host, even volunteering a tour of the neighborhood. The location is great, with great restaurants and beaches in either direction. We loved the house and will absolutely consider it the next time in La Jolla.

We had a lovely time celebrating our 50th anniversary in this lovely historic home updated with every imaginable modern amenity. Great for relaxing at home, neighborhood walks, and visiting local sites. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property, exceptional hospitality

This property was perfect for our family, including our young grandchildren. The house is spacious and contained everything we needed and more. The gardens and private pool are beautiful. The host, Shona, was so kind and responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for a fun vacation. We hope to return!

Beautiful Week

Loved our stay in Shona’s beautiful home. It is so well appointed and spacious. Super comfy beds with high quality sheets made for great sleeping. The pool is huge and so enjoyable….water temp perfect. We are already planning a return trip!! 5 stars all day for this host and her home!!

Great accommodation for a family. So much space and very well equipped not only kitchen but toys for the children. Shona was a great hostess always ready to answers any queries we had. We loved the pool which was perfect for the children to play in. We had a great week and would highly recommend.

Beautiful stay

We had a lovely time in La Jolla staying at Casasol - it is a large well kept property with a beautiful yard, close to great beaches and the aquarium. I wish it was warmer so we could have enjoyed the pool more but other than that it worked well for 4 adults and 1 child and we were able to cook many meals in the well outfitted kitchen. Shona and her husband live next door when were very responsive to any concerns we had. I would highly recommend staying here.
