Situé à South Maui, le long des rives de la magnifique baie de Makena, le Makena Bay House est une résidence privée de deux étages située dans une ßle paradisiaque. La taille et l'emplacement de la maison Makena Bay en font un choix idéal pour les couples à la recherche d'une escapade tropicale!

Récemment construit en 2005, le Makena Bay House dispose de toutes les commodités modernes pour des vacances sans soucis. Le rez-de-chaussée dispose d'une cabane extérieure dotée d'un coin salon, d'une télévision avec lecteur DVD et d'un magnétoscope, d'un bar avec réfrigérateur, d'un barbecue à gaz et d'une salle de bains complÚte. Il y a aussi une douche extérieure chauffée et un bain à remous dans un endroit parfait pour profiter d'un magnifique coucher de soleil à Maui.

L'intérieur de l'étage a beaucoup de touches spéciales, y compris les plafonds voûtés, le granit, les sols en bambou, les robinets haut de gamme et l'éclairage d'accentuation. De grandes baies vitrées coulissantes s'ouvrent sur deux ponts, l'un de la cuisine et l'autre de la chambre, avec vue sur les ßles voisines de Molokini, Kaho'olawe et Lanai. La chambre principale a un lit queen pour accueillir confortablement 2 personnes.

Depuis la propriété, vous pourrez observer les tortues dans les vagues à quelques mÚtres et pendant les mois d'hiver, vous pourrez voir des baleines à bosse qui migrent le long de la cÎte. Certains des meilleurs sites de plongée et de plongée en apnée sont directement en face de vous. Une nuit claire vous permettra de contempler d'étonnantes étoiles. Vous pouvez profiter des meilleurs restaurants de Maui ainsi que des boutiques et des spas de classe mondiale à Wailea; golf, tennis et plages immaculées sont à proximité. Makena est considérée comme l'une des plus belles régions de Maui et il n'y a pas de meilleur endroit pour découvrir Maui que le cadre paisible et époustouflant de Makena Bay House!

Excellent small home, ideally equipped with kitchen necessities. Location can’t be beat! It’s a walk up the driveway and maybe 50’ to the beach. Whales from the lanai with Kona coffee
amazing. The gourmet markets are within 5 min drive. Excellent layout with the ground level shower, hot tub and covered terrace hose off areas. Upstairs main level offers a gorgeous deck. Never tired of listening to the myna birds! Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing Stay

This place is fabulous, we loved everything about it. We really enjoyed the spa, nice bonus. The kitchen was very nice had everything one needs to cook meals with. Even had sharp knives! True to the advertisement it is very clean. The location was perfect, we saw so many turtles! Great spot for snorkeling. For us it was the best place to stay.

Exquisite location - best vacation!

This is my 5th time vacationing in Maui. I have stayed at high-end hotels and luxurious condos in Kaanapali, Lāhainā, and Wailea — all but one of them had oceanfront rooms. Yet I had no idea how private and comfortable this home in Makena would be - the photos and details in the listing cannot describe the beauty and peacefulness of the location. I am definitely coming back.

Paradise

The location is absolutely breathtaking. The place was beautiful and comfortable. The owners were very nice and responded to any questions or concerns we had. The house manual had great information for throngs to do and shopping nearby. It was tropical paradise and we didn’t want to leave. Anyone who wants a nice secluded place with privacy to enjoy a special occasion would love this place.

Amazing Second Stay

Luckily this was our second stay at this AMAZING property on the Bay in Makena. The house is clean, unique, and fully stocked for an extended stay. We love all the patios and the outdoor space downstairs— including the hotub that has a great view of the ocean. The house is tucked away and very private. The neighborhood is nice and a short drive to resorts and restaurants. The communication with the owners is easy and prompt. We would love to stay again in the future.

Magical, spectacular A plus plus

This is a majestic location, right on the oceanfront, gorgeous views of the ocean, sky, lava rocks, birds singing and beauty everywhere. The cottage is updated with everything you could ever want and more. The bed was so comfortable, plenty of drawers and closet space, wonderful kitchen fully equipped with everything you could want. We felt at home. The peace and beauty of nature lives in us now. Best VRBO/Air B and B we have ever rented!

Wonderful place to stay!

This home was an awesome base location for our 7 days in Maui. The place was very clean and the host was a superb communicator. Best of all is the location. Awesome ocean views from the upper deck and the grassy area. The place is also outfitted with all the toys - beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie board, many sets of fins and snorkels, big beach towels, etc. We really like staying in the Makena area. It was away from the hustle and bustle of the big resort areas and huge condo complexs. Yet we were able to easily walk to nearby beaches. I completely recommend staying here and would do so again on a future trip to Maui.

Wonderful!

This is so worth it! It’s difficult to leave to go do things, to be honest. But, if you have to leave, the place has everything you need for a beach day, several of which are super close (short walk or drive). Short drives to grocery stores with anything else you might need. Great communication with owners! Loved it - will hopefully get to be back. Our thoughts and condolences remain with all those affected by the wildfires

*The things we liked: the view from the deck, the outdoor lanai with the hot tub and tv area and it was quiet most of the time. *The things we disliked: the home wasn't the cleanest - for example there was layered dust on the bedroom fans and sconces and the bathroom could use an upgrade for sure We also needed a light blanket on the bed (the comforter was heavy) so we found two blankets in the bin in the living room and they were musty smelling and stained (I washed them myself). The bug exterminator came and was in our parking spot and wasn't very motivated to converse or move his truck. The landscape guys came one morning and were loud and it was awkward to be outside with them there. Trivial but annoying - one cold beer mug and one wine glass - do people come there and stay alone?? Lastly, for a property listed for over 2 MILLION dollars if you wanted to purchase it, we expected a nicer place. Everything is so dated and the place really could use an upgrade. We did enjoy Maui and will come again but stay elsewhere.

Perfect Maui vacation house - turtle town

Makena Bay House is oceanfront with amazing pano ocean view of the bay. It’s right next to the Makena Landing, with abundant coral reef, fish and turtles on both sides. We snorkeled in the bay and swam w turtles every day. South Pacific Kayaks drops off kayak rental right there. We rented one for half day to kayak up to Wilea, saw several turtles swimming next to us. The house was stocked w everything you need. I used the life vest, snorkel gear, reef shoes and fins. We had breakfast and dinner on the lanai every day watching the morning light and sunset, listening to birds chirping. The outdoor shower and hot tub makes cleanup and relaxing convenient and scenic. We have been to Maui five times. This was the best time we had here. Cannot wait to come back!

Great property, amazing views

This is a great property in Makena right on the water. We spent the days outside watching the turtles swim and boats coming in and out with guests wanting to snorkel turtle town. The makena beach park is less than 100 yards from the house and beach access even closer. What a great place to snorkel or just watch the waves come in. Some of the warmer days we turned the air on in the bedroom but the rest of the house didn’t need it and it’s really handy to be able to do that rather than cool the entire house down. The owners provide everything to need for a beach day so no need to by a cooler or water toys/gear, it’s all here. The place is perfect for two or a small family with kids. Two full baths and plenty of room to have a space of your own outside. There is no oven but the microwave is convection so you can even cook a frozen pizza in it so no problem. Love this place and highly recommend due to the location, private parking and privacy in general. Wonderful hosts. Thank you.

Didn't want to leave

Our trip into Maui, although a direct flight, was tiring. After driving down to South Maui using the excellent directions given to us by the proprietor, we reached Makena Landing. The first impression is deceptive. There is actually an enclave of 4-5 cottages nestled together. Makena Bay House is tucked slightly back and to the left. First look through the house shows that the space is used very efficiently; you have everything you need but not a lot of extra space. Couch facing the lanai that has a wonderful view of the ocean, waves washing over the lava rocks. Very workable kitchen. Bedroom off the living area with just enough room. I like the Foodland in Kihie; we got food and drink. Get the Hamakua tomatoes. Back at the cottage, lunch and a beer in my belly, feeling better, it's time for a snorkel. Off the beach to the right of the house we head in and around the rocks. Oh, my God, is that a VW bug? No, it's a turtle! Huge! Damn, there's her bigger buddy! 6 feet long! And lots of fishies swimming around; yellow ones, blue ones (haven't a clue what kind they are). Finish the swim and it's time to rinse off in the outdoor hot-water shower. Dry on the chaise lounge chairs by the water. By now the sun is getting lower and it's obviously time to get some serious pu pu's together for cocktail hour. Blue cheese, salami, goat cheese, bread and yes, the Hamakua tomatoes sliced in half with Lawry's Salt sprinkled liberally. Bushmills and water for me, Kettle One in a stemmed wine glass (ice with 3 olives) for the bride of 25 years. I'm starting to get it. Food, dirink and the setting sun. Superb. Followed by 6 more days and nights of the same. The Wailea Gold and Emerald (resort-type) courses nearby; we played them both. Saw Warren and Annabelle in Lahaina (a highlight!) and bought a cheap Fuji underwater camera (forgot ours) at Costco to take pictures of said Turtles. Met the neighbors. Cocktails with same. Walked to Makena Beach and on to the Black sand beach further down. La Perouse Bay (get there by 7:00 a.m to beat the wind). Started to hate myself for not having the many millions of dollars necessary to buy one of the homes being built on the point above. One week is not enough time at this oasis. Yes, I really get this place now. We have been to a lot of beach vacations; this place is worth the money. If it was mine I'd never give a discount. But, damn, after tomorrow it's not mine. It's back to reality. Ugh.

This is an ideal spot for a couple! Quiet and feels like your own little secluded paradise but is close to restaurants, shopping, etc. Great beach just a few minutes walk down the road! Saw turtles swimming in the rocky area just in front of the property!The house had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Wailea-Makena - beach equipment/towels, washer/dryer including laundry detergent, and a fully stocked kitchen. We loved hanging out in the outdoor cabana/hot tub area! It was nice to have the a/c in the bedroom at night. There is also an a/c unit in the main living area but we didn't end up needing it this time of year. We loved this home and hope to be back someday!

Amazing Vacation Home!

We rented the house for our 25th anniversary. We had the trip of a lifetime! This home is in a perfect spot for privacy...and the views...WOW. The turtles, the sound of the ocean, it just could not have been better!

Hidden Gem in a great location

We weren't sure what to expect, but were blown away with this home. It is truly a hidden gem that has amazing views, is close to a desirable snorkeling spot (we saw a lot of snorkeling boats coming in the bay), close to restaurants and shopping, and allowed us to take morning walks through adjacent neighborhoods. The home has just the right amount of space for 2, with lots of outdoor seating on the upper and lower deck. Great home in a great location!

Perfect location to relax and unwind

Great sunset views either from the balconies or your own spot on the shoreline. The property itself has everything you could want and the multiple decks let you sit in the sun or find shade at any time of the day. Communication was great, both before the visit and with a quick check-in that everything was going well mid week. Morning swim sessions from the sandy beach are less than a minute slow amble down the quiet road, and afterwards you can smile at the tour boats that come in for short visits, knowing that they will be gone leaving one of the prime snorkeling locations in all of Hawaii to enjoy at your leisure.

Absolutely amazing!

The property was amazing, exactly as described. Was very private, clean, had everything we needed and more. We watched whales right from the lanai, could watch turtles feeding right off the grassy area all day and breathtaking sunsets every night. We snorkeled off Makena Landing and hung out at Maluaka beach, both very nice beaches a short walk away. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Felt very privileged to be able to stay at the Makena Bay Cottage. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
