Aspen Lodge: with Dark Skies near Area Attractions

Aspen Lodge is a 5-star property on the mountain between Galeton and Germania. Enjoy a wrap-around deck with gas grill, covered porch for dining and sky views from our open deck. Just off the deck you'll find a firepit, chairs, and firewood. Surrounded by woodland, we are situated on several acres with open grassy lawn, nicely landscaped.

Upon (keyless) entry, you'll first see our full kitchen with separate dining area and rustic yet modern decor. The indoor gathering area boasts a spectacular cathedral ceiling. From the gathering area, access the loft Queen bedroom with a view, and an oversized recliner. A first floor double bedroom is adjacent to a nice-sized bathroom - shower with built-in seat. Lower level bunk room is adjacent to a second bath with shower.

Overall, our convenient yet private layout at Aspen Lodge has three bedrooms on 3 floors with 6 beds and 2 baths. Note : Two beds are a bunk configuration in the bunk room. The other two beds in the bunk room are singles. The bunk room bath also offers a large shower with built-in seat. Overall, we have four recliners and 2 smart TV's, perfect for napping or streaming your favorite programs. Enjoy Pandora for listening pleasure. Free high-speed WiFi with private work space is available to you. Close the door and work, nap or meditate.

Peace and Quiet Under the Stars

I loved the cabin and its location. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe here. I also enjoyed the quiet atmosphere where I could watch the wildlife and look at the stars. It was a real pleasure to be able to take advantage of the wonderful surroundings of northern Pennsylvania.

Weekend getaway to see the stars

We had a great stay at the house! Everything was well stocked. The house was comfortable and the views of the stars from the back deck were great! Kay was super responsive and even had a snack basket waiting for us! We had 4 teens that loved the basement bedroom! No complaints at all! Would definitely stay here again when exploring all the state parks in the area!

A Wonderful Long Weekend

This property offers a tranquil escape from the day to day grind, and truly prompts reconnection with nature. Surrounded on the immediate premises by wildlife (hummingbirds love the feeder on the porch, birds, squirrels, and chipmunks are abundant--and we even awoke to a bear in the yard!) and beautiful woods to explore, the house also boasts proximity to the PA Grand Canyon and the star gazing fields of Cherry Springs. Kay was so helpful from the moment we checked in and very gracious as we checked out! Thank you for a truly splendid weekend!

Kay and Jack both enjoyed careers in sales and service, and find that hosting is an extension of those years of experience. Kay is your host and will be happy to answer any questions you might have. In her retirement, she volunteers locally, gardens and travels with Jack when she can get away! Your comfort is our priority.

Aspen Lodge is located near Cherry Springs, well-known for PA dark skies. Our guests say they have enjoyed the dark skies without ever leaving Aspen Lodge, and we have everything they need right on our property! Cherry Springs and AtV trails nearbhy are popular attractions. Within driving distance swim in Lyman Lake, shop in Wellsboro or hike the trails around the Grand Canyon. A bit further but still easily a day trip, you can enjoy seeing herds of elk near Benezette, PA or visiti the many wineries near the Finger Lakes (explore the wine trails from Watkins Glen, NY).
