Ocean view cottage with vintage charm and easy walk to the beach!

This raised 1930s carriage house is absolutely adorable and the perfect cozy getaway for a couple or a private escape for one looking to work, read/write, or surf! With relaxing ocean views and the beach access just 25 yards away (less than a block) – this 1 bedroom house has a queen bed, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, and a porch perch to provide all the comforts of home. You'll spend your afternoons in the sand and surf, with a heated rinse off in your own private outdoor shower!

What's Nearby:
The heart of Folly with quintessential beach stores, locally-owned restaurants and bars lies a short 30 min walk or 10 min bike ride away (12 blocks). Within 5-6 blocks you'll also find access to basketball, pickle-ball & tennis courts and the “wash-out” surf destination. One end of the island boasts the Folly beach County Park, and the other holds pristine views of the historic Morris Island Lighthouse. During your stay, take advantage of the many outdoor activities & lessons offered on the island, including fishing, surfing, biking, kayaking, boating, and much more. A 12-mile/15 min drive will take you to historic downtown Charleston, where you can enjoy all that the Holy City has to offer.

Fiddler Crab is strictly non-smoking, not pet-friendly, and is a family vacation rental. Free Wifi provided. Outdoor shower for easy cleanup after a long beach day. No grill. We provide 24-hour emergency on-call staff. No events allowed that exceed the maximum occupancy of the home. Must be 25 years old or older to rent, no exceptions. Please contact us if you have any questions, or need assistance booking. Our local, knowledgeable staff is here to help. We hope to see you soon on Folly Beach!

**HOUSE SUPPLIES**
This property is managed by a property management group. We provide a complimentary starter amenity kit to get you settled. Guests are responsible for replenishing supplies as needed during their stay.
Two rolls of paper towels, 1 sponge, 1 dishwashing liquid, 3 trash bags, 3 dishwasher tabs, and 2 kitchen towels in the kitchen. Each bathroom will have 2 toilet paper rolls and at least 1 bar of soap. Full bathrooms additionally include kits with travel size products: 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 lotion bottle, and 2 makeup wipes

Best Beach Retreat

The Fiddler Crab is the cutest cottage in the best location on the island. Steps from the beach and close to town but not too close to be bothered by the crowds. We definitely found our new favorite beach house and can’t wait to come back.

Awesome 4th of July Trip

Went for a quick 4th of July weekend. This place was great for my wife and I. Right next to the beach, a quick bike ride to all of the bars/restaurants

Anniversary stay.

We had a wonderful time at the beach. Folly restaurants are awesome too. It was just a short walk to the beach. It was perfect for us on our 10th Anniversary. We were married here on the beach.

Pros and cons...Pros - close to beach, great a/c, water pressure Cons - LOUD traffic noise all the time. Floor has a serious tilt - watch your footing. Place needs love overall (or a tear down) - trim falling off and see note about floor.We still had a good time - just don't expect more than a beach shack and you'll be fine

Perfect for our weekend getaway!

The lovely bungalow was the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday! With beach access just steps away and restaurants/shopping a walkable distance...the Fiddler's Crab was a good choice. The kitchen was apportioned to make an easy breakfast and lunch. Lots of hot water for showers; comfortable bed. Occasional traffic noise, but an easy trade for the great location. Charleston was a manageable drive away. Also enjoyed a 4 mile walk through James Island County Park.

House is small but nice. Close to the ocean and an overall good stay. Only complaint with the house itself was that the carpet is very hard and uncomfortable to walk on. As for the booking, I ended up paying an extra 82% over the posted price in random fees and taxes. I feel this is predatory and dishonest. I might consider staying in the house again but definitely not at the final rate that I payed after the made up fees and taxes.

Perfect home base for a couple

We spent ten nights at this delightful home. It was a return visit to Folly Beach for us. Contactless check in worked perfectly, and upon entering, we found the house in pristine condition - totally clean with linens and bath towels presented tastefully. The kitchen was generously equipped but not cluttered. Sitting area was very comfortable and the two collapsible snack tables hidden at the side of the frig added plenty of surface area for dining or snacking. The shower is huge and amazing after a day in the sun. Can't go wrong with this little gem barely a block from the beach entrance. Home is within walking distance of the center of town but definitely suggest doing so on the beach. The roads are very narrow with little space for walkers, and cars speed by without regard. If using a golf cart, be advised parking and use downtown is heavily restricted as are hours of use. Only thing we would suggest to make it even more perfect - a couple of beach chairs and an umbrella. Also, area rugs in the bathroom and kitchen area seriously in need replacement. We heartily thank the owners for sharing their home!!

Old cottage and great location

Small cottage, fantastic location to beach access and overall area of Folly Beach. Cottage is old. Not for more than a couple. Myself and two young adult children stayed together- it was cozy but we are used to cozy. It has some wear- lots of sand under rugs when we arrived, rugs are worn torn, Furniture is very worn, and I vacuumed several times with the small vacuum. Not much in the way of dishes as far as storage containers. I bought some, washed and left them behind. Overall it was a good stay. I would stay again in hopes that some things are updated slightly. This cottage allows pets so you can’t expect things to be high end, but could be reasonably new- indoor/outdoor rugs, coach. The bathroom and walk in shower is great! We kept our dog crated except when we were there- windows allow for many distractions for dogs so need to be quick in raising the window shades.

Great Fall Getaway

We loved Fiddler Crab
super clean, the bathroom was spacious with a huge shower and two vanities, which is a plus! Great location for beach time. Two things that would make guests feel more comfortable would be putting blinds on kitchen windows, door, and side living area door and changing the lock on the side living room area so that the door can be opened from the inside. We can tell Fiddler Crab is a well kept place, and we would love to come back!

Great location on a great island

We've stayed here numerous times and appreciate the recent updates & new furniture. It had everything we needed, the location is in perfect proximity to the beach and is enough away from the crowded center of town. It's in need of a deep clean, however (hair & dust around the nightstands and urine spray on the wall near the toilet, presumed a splashed from those who stand to do their business) As with many older beach homes, the air quality is moldy, but stayed cool. The Vacasa staff was quick to assist with resetting the WIFI and were great communicators. We look forward to returning next year.
