A 4-acre, family and group friendly retreat venue in the heart of Puerto Jimenez

Chosa Royale Retreat and Event Center sits on an exotic, 4-acre tropical property where wild animals live on site, and others traverse twice daily, once in the morning and again in the afternoon. The retreat is a camouflaged collection of modern cabanas, suites, and rooms supplemented by raised trail ways, bridges, open-air lounges, and ponds. These comforts are strategically located for viewing animal activity that occurs 24/7 on the property.

Chosa Royale Retreat and Event Center is an excellent transitional point in and out of the intensely tropical Osa peninsula. Our accommodation offers simple & authentic experiences. We're only three hundred meters from the rich Pacific waters of the Golfo Dulce and within a short drive to world-class beaches great for surfing (Matapalo) and Osa’s primary travel destination: Corcovado National Park. We strive to vigorously maintain a healthy level of cleanliness and comfort amidst this primeval Osa jungle and the wild tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean.

The Retreat Center can sleep up to forty guests, but some guests prefer solitude, so it's occasionally rented by individuals, couples, and small intimate groups looking for privacy while at the same time being on a large property in a small beach town at the end of the road. It has four lounges, sixteen bedrooms, twenty-two bathrooms, three kitchens & a tropical restaurant and a bar to name but a few of its many attributes. Chosa Royale Retreat and Event Center offers onsite parking for up to twenty vehicles. We have hotel, restaurant, bar, and event center licenses to accommodate all your needs. Event planning and catering are available upon request.

Nuzzled in a strip of jungle-land which pierces the neighborhoods of a small, travel-friendly beach town, the large grounds are part of a main diurnal and nocturnal through-way for a diverse collection of exotic animals. A stay here is a true jungle experience but within a 5-minute walk from the Osa Peninsula’s human center, Puerto Jiménez. Visitors routinely report that they see more wildlife here than at many other Costa Rica locations including national parks.

We're a 2-minute walk to Puerto Jimenez airport, the National Park office & several car rentals. A 5-minute walk to town-center (large grocery, various small stores, tour operators, banks, gas station, bike rentals, boutiques, bus station, taxis, etc.) An 8-minute walk to Puerto Jimenez beachfront (sandy beach, main boat dock, several restaurants, bars, boat tour operators, kayak rentals, mangroves).

Wifi is available in most of the rooms and communal areas of the property. We offer a large open-air kitchen as well as another smaller kitchen, a tropical hardwood bar, expert local advice and arrangement of jungle guides and tourist services, several open-air lounges, night lighting, an internal walking trail, a parking lot, a tour office, wake up knocks, safes in many of the rooms, lock up facilities and bicycle parking.

Chosa Royale Retreat and Event Center is a true birder’s paradise - you don't need to leave the property to see impressive Macaws, Toucans, Tanagers, Flycatchers, and numerous other varieties of exotic birds playing throughout the gardens. There is a small internal perimeter trail and a few unique chill spots, so you can view a lot of wildlife. Make sure you walk the paths with your cameras ready. Common wildlife sightings on the property include four species of Monkeys, Kinkajous, Raccoons, Coatis, Anteaters, Sloths, Armadillos, Raptors, Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, Crocodiles, Lizards, Snakes, Hummingbirds, Iguanas, many other Birds, Insects, and Reptiles. All terrestrial animal photos on this website were taken on our property.
