The "Akai Beach House" is a beautiful 5 bedroom 4 bath home that sleeps 14 with ocean views, a pool, air conditioning and a large game room in the garage. Enjoy ping pong and foosball, or relax on the couch and watch TV in the game room. Magic Sands Beach - the best sandy beach in Kona - is an easy 5 minute walk from home offering swimming, sunbathing, boogie boarding and beach volleyball. (Note: Magic Sands Beach gets it's name from the fact that if there are large storms/waves the sand may disappear from time to time and then comes back.) The home has two full kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs with two separate living rooms. It is like renting a full 3 bedroom and another full 2 bedroom house.
Perfect for multi-family and/or a multi-generational stay. Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen and living room. Downstairs, there are 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen and living room. There is a washer/dryer both upstairs and downstairs. 4 bedrooms have spacious California King sized beds and one has a queen. Additionally, there are two double/queen sized futon couches in the upstairs living room. Further, we offer several padded cots for guests to use throughout the home. Great ocean views and sunsets from the upstairs living room, dining room, bedrooms and pool. Watch the sunset while lounging around the pool! Pool has a nice deck area with a bbq for family cookouts. Great snorkeling and surfing are only a half mile away at Kahaluu Bay, just south of our home. Vast shopping and dining options are only 2 miles away at downtown Kailua-Kona to the North and 1.5 miles from the Keauhou Shopping center to the South. Accordingly, you can quickly access grocery stores and places to eat. You also can walk to Magics Grill (at Magic Sands Beach) for cocktails and dinner, with amazing ocean views. The house has ample parking and is located on a quiet street. We have plenty of beach toys such as boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and a wagon etc... for guests to enjoy. The house was remodeled in October 2022 with new flooring, AC, interior paint and many new furnishings.

We had a great time staying here. Our teens especially loved having a house to themselves downstairs. The adults loved the views from upstairs. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Lots of chairs, umbrellas, snorkels, wet shoes and bodyboards. The pool was nice and clean.

I’ve stayed at several properties over recent years. This one had the best amenities of any (fluffy bath towels, beach towels, lots of beach toys, beach chairs, etc.). The house was excellent for our family of 8. Pool, house very clean.

I stayed in this property with my son and his family and had such a great experience I brought my daughter and her family. It’s large, the pool is great for a dip after going to the beaches — magic Beach is a short walk (check the Guide on the kitchen counter for the easiest walk). There is lots and lots of gear so we didn’t need to bring his historical or beach towels, etc.Should be vacation again in Kona. I would definitely seek out this accommodation.

The house was very nice and in good shape. We had 10 adults and 4 kids and we fit very comfortably. The pool was a hit with all. Most impressive was the AC for the house, it is set up perfect and we actually had to keep turning it off or adjust the temp up to upper 70's because it was so effective. Great location, just a short walk, (5 minutes) to Magic Sands beach.

We had a wonderful stay! The property was spacious, beautifully maintained, and stocked with all the little extras that made our vacation so comfortable. We especially appreciated the ample supply of paper towels, bathroom essentials, spices, and other thoughtful touches that are often overlooked.The host was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The beds were amazingly comfortable, and the location couldn't have been better.. just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and local attractions.The pool was fantastic, and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves. Overall, the accommodations exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this property and would happily stay here again!

The owner and property managers were easy to communicate with. Very helpful. We loved the pool, the large kitchen and living room. The bedroom sizes were great as well as the bathrooms. Nice view of the ocean and sunset. Great size for our party of 8 adults and 2 toddlers.

Everything was great. The only thing that was problematic was that you have to go outside from the basement portion to get upstairs, but we already knew that from the description. It wouldn’t be a problem if it wasn’t raining. We would stay there again!

What a fantastic house! This VRBO has more than you can imagine, the most well stocked rental I’ve ever stayed in (beach towels, spices, laundry soap, toys, chairs, coolers, etc). We had a group of 5 adults and 3 kids (10. 12 & 17). Great location, the kids loved the pool, very comfortable beds. I can’t say enough about this rental and all the thoughtful amenities.

The quiet location was wonderful! Nice to have a pool and be within walking distance to a beach. The beds were super comfortable. Only issue was the air conditioning unit in the main part of house was not working. We were able to work around it by opening up windows and doors at night to cool it down. Would recommend staying here nonetheless

One of the 7 ductless AC units went down the day the guests arrived. The other 6 (including 3 upstairs in the bedrooms) all were working fine. The AC company came out the day the problem was detected. Unfortunately, as we are on an island the part had to be ordered and took a couple weeks to arrive. The unit has subsequently been repaired. The unit is less than 4 years old.

Wonderful stay! Ten adults stayed at the house for a race and it was the perfect space to come home to and relax in/by the pool. There was so many water toys (floats, water shoes, masks) that all of us were able to use and snorkel nearby! Recommend this house if you have a large group staying together!

We picked this house because you can walk to Magic Sands Beach. We are often at the beach playing volleyball in the afternoons. We also loved the view and how quiet the neighborhood is.
