Peaceful Farmhouse & Rural Views

Candace and her guest informed me there was an issue with a smoke detector in the house on the morning of their check out. All of the smoke and CO2 detectors were less than a year old and had a 10 year battery life. When I arrived at the house after they checked out, there was no issue with any of the smoke detectors - all of which had been permanently disabled by Candace and her guest. However, there was a monitor in the kitchen that was chirping. This detector also was less than a year old and had a new battery. There was a strong odor of smoke in the living room which was not present before Candace moved into the house. It has taken extensive measures to remove the smoke smell they left from all of the upholstery in the living room. Additionally their dog left a mess on the carpet. After multiple times cleaning the carpet in an attempt to save the carpet, I will have to replace the flooring in the living room due to the mess that was left. The house is thoroughly cleaned in between each guest and was clean prior to Candace moving into the house. The house is on well water, but it has a water softener. This can cause water spots on shower heads, but in no way was there an issue with the shower heads not working as she claims. The house was completely renovated in the fall of 2022 where the shower heads, smoke detectors, carpet, washer and dryer, dishwasher, all kitchen appliances were updated.
