Welcome to The Hydeaway—secluded, pet-friendly, and surrounded by nature. Unwind in the hot tub, gather around the fire pit and cozy up by the fireplace. Come enjoy simple living and time away from it all while making lasting memories.

Tucked between the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Nantahala National Forest, The Hydeaway offers privacy, nature, and easy access to the Fontana Recreation Area. You’ll feel tucked away—yet perfectly located for adventure or rest.

Inside the Cabin

This rustic retreat comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests and blends cozy charm with modern comforts. Inside, you’ll find:
• Vaulted ceilings with seasonal mountain views
• Fireplace, central heat & A/C
• Smart TVs (log into Netflix, Hulu, etc.)
• Washer & dryer

Sleeping & Bathrooms
• Main floor private bedroom: 1 queen bed
• Upstairs open loft: 2 queen beds
• Hybrid memory foam mattresses throughout
• Two full bathrooms (one on each floor)

This was one of the best stays we have ever had on VRBO. The owners of this property were so responsive and kind, the property was beautiful, the house was clean and well stocked. There were so many little personal touches, little conveniences and thoughtful inclusions that made our stay memorable and easy. Our teens loved the loft space and the fairy lights at night by the hot tub. This made my daughter’s “senior trip” experience so special. We ate dinner one night at the Tapoco restaurant and highly recommend giving it a try. The view and the food are well worth the short drive. Thank you so much for a wonderful visit!!

Very secluded house, loved the privacy and the backyard setup! The house was great for us and our dogs, very dog friendly which we appreciate! Also enjoyed using the fireplace and the hot tub, great things to have at a mountain house. Hosts were very communicative and helpful, especially clear with the directions to get there which was great. House had all the little things too that you might need. Overall had a great visit.

Our stay here was amazing! Right after booking, the host sent us a very well done digital brochure about the home, activities in the area, and local amenities. The home and property were incredibly clean. The bathroom, linens, and kitchen were all well stocked. It feels very private and secluded, truly a delightful getaway from it all! The hosts went above & beyond- their response time was very quick in answering any questions and they were also quick to help when I forgot a beloved clothing item there. We would happily stay again & would very much recommend! Thank you!

It’s 1 bedroom not 2 ! Bedroom means room needs to have doors and privacy ! Many bugs and totally they didn’t do pest control ! Bed so uncomfortable ! Very hard to find the address and so dangerous road !
