Charming Vashon Island Cottage - Just 3 minutes from the ferry.

Enjoy peace and quiet at the Cottage at Useful Bear Farm. Vashon Island has lots to offer year-round: beaches, hiking, biking and bird-watching. Conveniently located near the north-end ferry and close to town where there are wonderful shops and restaurants. The cottage has full kitchen, bathroom and living/dining room on the first floor. Upstairs is a large sleeping loft with queen bed separated by a divider and a trundle bed and sleeper sofa. A portion of the proceeds from the cottage go to local housing programs. Please note, all the beds are on second floor so guests need to be able to use stairs. No pets, please.

Highly recommend this wonderful place. Close to downtown (but not too close), chickens and deer roam freely, cottage was modernized and very clean. Debra welcomed us on arrival, which was appreciated. We would definitely return next time we visit Vashon.

The cottage was very comfortable, particularly the beds. You have to be prepared for the for the bathroom being on the lower level and the lack of television but otherwise it was very nice.

We had a wonderful stay at Vashon Island. We really enjoyed the cottage and local hospitality. The nature and scenery were beautiful. We hightly recommend a visit to the troll and surrounding beach. The Thai Restaurant in town was delicious.

We had an amazing time in this home , my kids loved the place and the atmosphere around this home is amazing , they have chickens in their small farm my kids loved the country feel there and they wanted to stay more time but we spent only one day and the host Debra was really awesome , co-operative and very generous she offered of some eggs from the farm to my kids . Great place to stay .

To celebrate a 25th Anniversary, we decided to stay on Vashon Island. We could not have made a better decision or a better place to stay.Before we arrived, I was able to correspond with the owner of the property, who responded quickly to my questions.When we arrived, she was on hand to welcome us. The owners of the property do live right nearby, had we any problems. But problems? None!The space is large with all the amenities, washer, stove, great towels, fresh eggs(!) and multiple places to sit, read, and think.Even better, scattered throughout the space were wonderful books to browse and read. We made lists of their offerings - "Find Momo" is a wonderful discovery! All in all, this spot was a superb spot for us to start our next 25 years.
