KVI BEACH HOUSE STUDIO! Directly Above Vashon's Favorite Beach!

KVI Beach House Studio Apartment is directly above KVI Beach, (or Point Heyer), which is the heart and soul of Vashon! Facing the sun and Mt. Rainier, this light-filled studio has a private entrance, outdoor space with a BBQ, firepit, patio with furniture, and a gazebo-covered picnic table. Inside is a large-screened TV, full kitchen and bath with shower, dishwasher, W/D accessible, and lots of A/C. Just steps to the beach, SUPs and Kayaks are available for guests' use, it's the perfect place for a couple or family of 3 to spend time on fabulous Vashon Island!

Vashon is a sublime rural refuge set in a sea of urban development. So it is accessible to Seattle, Tacoma, and the Kitsap Peninsula by car or foot ferry boat only, and is a favorite summer destination for fishing, crabbing, beachcombing, clamming, art and music festivals. Our Strawberry Festival is in July.

Our studio sleeps 3, with a single couch bed and a queen in a large studio apartment with a private entrance and one parking space. There are black out curtains, A/C, available laundry, outdoor BBQ, outdoor camp stove, firepit, wood, view, picnic table, large screen tv, and an easy walk to KVI Beach, a sandy, driftwood beach locally known as KVI. Sealife abounds here. Guests have seen orcas, an elephant seal, seals, sea lions, jellyfish, numerous types of clams, geoducks, octopus, and of course eagles and raccoons, deer, and even an occasional coyote.

Vashon is a summer wedding destination so make sure to make your reservations in advance of Strawberry Festival or any weddings you may plan to attend.

Stayed for a couple days and cooked breakfast dinner while we were here. Kitchen is well equipped, comfy bed, and plenty of entertainment options (movies, table top games, backyard seating with fire pit). It was perfect for having a game night with a couple friends. Absolutely stunning views, would love to stay here again in the future!

The location is great, very private and relaxing - near a mellow beach. The house was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. Host was helpful and friendly, but not intrusive at all. Highly recommend! Would stay again.

Clean, cozy place to stay with great views of the beach. Was a bit disappointed to see the condition of the kayaks and paddle boards (full of pine needles/dirt, and the paddle board full of water) and find out that the beach wasn't as accessible as we had imagined it would be. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay, and walks on the beach.

Relaxing Sanctuary

Beautiful location, darling studio with amazing views of the water and Mt.Rainer, access to beaches a just quick serene walk down the hill (or a 1min drive) Property owner highly accommodating and responsive to inquiries and needs. Highly recommended and will definitely be booking this gem in the future

Peaceful Getaway Surrounded by Nature

Such a lovely location—peaceful and immersed in nature. The beach is walkable, but you’ll want a car to get to town or do any major shopping. That said, the house has everything you need, so just make a grocery stop on your way in.The bed is cozy, the space is warm and inviting, the kitchen is incredibly well-stocked, and the outdoor seating area is perfect for relaxing. The owners are wonderful—I’ll definitely be back!

Wow one of the most beautiful properties I have stayed at. So full of nature and a overall scenic views! Communicating with Nancy was very seamless just message through the Vrbo app. We had a few hiccups with the power and Nancy was very helpful and understanding. The whole property felt like an oasis and I felt so at home there. I will definitely be back it all surpassed my expectations. Thank you so much for this slice of heaven.

Location was perfect for my partner and our pup. Property offered nice fenced yard and we enjoyed the short walk to kvi beach in the mornings and evenings. The outdoor space is wonderful and great for lounging which we did much of. Location was perfect for us - short drive to town or south the other attractions. Kitchen is well equipped so that we were able to prepare most of our meals. Only issues for us were the inability to control the thermostat (controlled by owner in upstairs unit who did work with us on temp) and couch which was really uncomfortable. Fortunately, the tv rotated so that we could watch movies from the bed which felt extra luxurious

Nancy was a wonderful hostess

The view is priceless. The walkway along the property reminds me of a fairy tale. Its adorned with beautiful flowers, trees, and bushes. The patio area is extremely spacious and has umbrellas for the summer sun. The whole rental is very spacious with a large TV. The kitchen is extremely open and has lots of appliances to make almost any dish.The beach is a very short walk away. Nancy was extremely welcoming and her communication was great. She had many wonderful ideas and even let us borrow a fold out chair for the fourth. She let me know where to go to get the best view and even how to position my vehicle, so we can get back at a decent time. My boys and I had a wonderful time.

Surprising....amazing... beautiful!

The beach studio took our breath away the moment we walked in and the surprises just kept coming. It has everything you'd ever need and more. As the sun started to go down I sat quietly in the garden....birds flew in to eat from the birdfeeders....then two squirrels came to eat the seeds the birds dropped. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better a hummingbird came and hovered in the flowers on the table right in front of me THEN a tiny chipmunk popped out to eat the birdseed with the squirrels!!!!The bed was comfy...the air-conditioning was so good we had to ask for it to be turned down and then it was perfect. The people from the island are very friendly and helpful.The only downfalls were there was nowhere to hang my clothes and we could hear every footstep from upstairs which went on all day during our stay and was a bit annoying.We absolutely recommend staying here you won't regret it.

Our stay in this unit was delightful. The space is cozy, comfortable, and well stocked. We were not guests until the end of October, so the weather didnt allow a lot of use of the lovely patio area with a spectacular view of Rainier, when she could dodge the clouds! The temperature was warm in rhe unit and is controlled by the owner's thermostat, but Nancy informed us of adjustable vents which helped the situation. She also promptly came to our aid for a TV remote issue for Netflix. We thoroughly enjoyed three nights on Vashon at this site!

Orginally from New York City, My husband and I moved to Vashon in 1978 to find a place looking at the mountains and sea. Vashon was perfect, accessible only by boat, the size of Manhattan but with only 11,000 people!

I love doing geneology, scrapbooks, and traveling. My husband is a retired geologist and I am a retired social worker. We met when I was a VISTA Americorp volunteer on a remote Indian Reservation in Nevada. We have adult children in the neighborhood.

I have triplet sisters and we are gold star daughters who travel to the French village of St-Gregoire and the city of Rennes, France, every few years to meet our village friends there who take care of our father's memorial and honor the sacrifice of the American soldiers who died there for their liberty.

We commemorate the liberation of Rennes on Aug 4, 1944 with them as their so-called "Sisters of Liberty."

We are proud and honored that the picture you will see hanging in the studio hallway of our father looking at his newly born daughters hangs as a permanent exhibit in the National World War II Museum's Liberation Pavilion.

KVI Beach and the Ellisport neighborhood is the heart and soul of Vashon. The Beach is alive all times of the year, from dog walkers to beachcombers, from clam diggers to sand dollar collectors! The kids love to go under the bridge during the incoming tide to collect hermit crabs, and during the summer there are many SUPs gliding around Tramp Harbor in front of the house. Kayaking is done all times of the year. Neighbors are friendly and we often meet up for drinks and sharing news from the island grapevine.

Each water view is different, and we have a 180 degree view of the East Passage, Tramp Harbor, Mr. Rainier, Maury Island, Portage, and we face the sunrise and have sun all day long( when the sun and mountain are out).
