For guests seeking space, total privacy, and long-term comfort near State College, The Maid’s Quarters is an ideal home away from home. Perched on the second floor with its own private entrance and porch, this sunny, 900-square-foot apartment features windows on three sides overlooking our vibrant native pollinator gardens. Inside, you'll find a peaceful bedroom with a comfy queen bed and generous closet space, plus a light-filled living area with a full futon sofa—perfect for traveling with kids.

Designed for total independence, the apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen with appliances and tableware, a spacious bathroom with a tub-and-shower combination, and convenient on-site laundry. We gladly welcome your well-behaved pets for a small fee, and maximum occupancy is up to 4 adults.

Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or an extended winter retreat, The Maid’s Quarters is ready to welcome you. Special weekly and monthly rates are available from January through March, as well as weekly rates throughout the year. Please inquire for pricing and availability, as rates may vary or be restricted during peak special event dates!

Great place to stay in a beautiful historic PA town

This is a gorgeous victorian home, in a neighborhood full of gorgeous victorian homes. The maids quarters, with a separate entrance, are large enough to live in. Breakfast choices are amazing, and you have a full kitchen to work with for other meals. Bellefonte is a lovely town nestled in the PA hills, with several large creeks draining into a large stream that runs through the center of town. The town has done a great job creating parks and riverwalks by the stream, preserving the downtown, which is almost entirely intact with 19th century elegance, and the walks through the neighborhoods are a joy. Great breakfast too!

Your Check-In Guide to The Queen

1. Arrival & Parking

Parking: Free street parking is directly in front of the house.

Arrival Notification: Check-in begins at 2:00 PM EST. If arriving before 10:00 PM EST, call 814-355-7946 upon arrival. Your host, Nancy, will show you to your room, tour common areas, and offer local tips. (If Nancy is unavailable, a detailed Welcome letter will be on the front door.)

24/7 Assistance: Call the same number anytime if you need assistance.

2. Entry Instructions

The Maid's Quarters: Take the stairs to the right of the main entrance. Your door is the first on the left. Your room key is on the buffet—please use it throughout your stay.

Accessible Entrance: To avoid front entrance stairs, look for the archway and bicycle to the left of the building for the accessible entrance.

3. Common Spaces

Full House Access: You are welcome in the main house! Enjoy the beautiful parlor immediately to your right upon entering.

Victorian Details: Try pumping the player piano for ragtime music or exploring the old-fashioned stereoscopes!
