We loved our stay in the Beech Lodge! My husband and I have been ending our summer with a trip to Michigan for the last 8 years, but this was our first time staying in Onekama. It’s nestled between Manistee and Arcadia, so it works well as a resting place for day trips to nearby areas, but we had no reason to leave. Between the pool access, Portage Lake access, and Lake Michigan beach access, we were just steps away from any water source we wanted. I enjoyed relaxing and reading my book without the crowds and hassle of driving to a destination. We will absolutely stay again. The space itself is cozy, perfect for two people.

Host was not on property. But the small 'studio' room was cute and clean. Quite snug. The Portage Point property was unfortunately, in seriuos disrepair. Beach and pool areas surrounded by weeds and overgrown grasses. Amenities were non existent, except for Friday and Saturday. Closed the rest of the week. Beautiful lake and a really nice beach one half mile from our room on Lake Michigan was very nice.

The listing and directions might be confusing. The pool and hot tub pictured are at the Portage Point Inn which is across the street from the white house labeled Beach Lodge. You can acess the amenities at the Inn, but you are not staying there. We enjoyed that fact as the Inn was busy and Beach Lodge was quiet. Both buildings have seen some years, but are functional. Beach Loft #8 was so well thought out in every inch. Small for sure, but we did fine. Kitchen has a mini fridge, two burner gas stove, microwave and electric toaster oven. Shower (no bathtub) in the clean well planned out bathroom. Unlocked entry hallway to the apt. is loaded with beach cooler, towels, chairs, umbrella, water vests and paddles. Walk past these and arrive at the apt. door with button key latch. Beautiful beach 1/2 mile down the road to enjoy.

Family getaway to Beech Loft

The Beech Loft had everything we needed, plus more. It was a cozy place and close to all the amenities Portage Point Inn has to offer. We utilized the full kitchen, loved the balcony and all the extra beach accessories to use - including kayaks!

Cozy Getaway in Onekama!

This small, renovated room in Onekama was the perfect base for our recent trip. The space was clean and comfortable, ideal for two travelers or a solo adventurer. Owners were super helpful and active when it came to information that we needed. This is the perfect little gateway I will say it would be super hard to sleep more than 2 people in the condo - but seriously loved the view and area. Great views.

Nice space with great views.

This is a great spot for one or two people, right on Portage Lake. Enjoyed the kayaks, and the loft came with some other useful things as well, like beach chairs and a cooler. Just an hour drive from Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Glen Arbor and Glen Haven are also a must!

Small but mighty!

This is a studio space but packs a lot into it, including a great deck with a grill. Also is a wonderfully equipped entry hall with beach stuff, a wheeled cooler and beach towels. The kitchen has everything you need, with a cute retro look little fridge with freezer and microwave. Would definitely stay here again!

Cute but…,

This place was cute but moving furniture and pulling the bed down to go to sleep was a bit much for me (64 years old). Loved the deck and privacy. The host, Kathy was great. Great location, loved the pool and being so close to Lake MI. Overall really enjoyed my stay!

Perfect for 2

This amazing studio was the perfect size for me and my girlfriend. We stayed here to go to crystal mountain to snowboard. It’s in a quaint location and a 2-3 minute walk away from public Lake Michigan beach access.We were able to drive into Manistee and Traverse City for dinner. The studio itself was so clean and nicely decorated. We loved it!!

Great Lake lover’s location

Cozy indoor space, great for tiny living practice, located inside a house. The balcony of the house has a great view of Lake Portage. Lake Michigan is only a 3-5 min. walk. The space was a tight fit with our traveling crib set up, but totally doable even with midnight feedings.
