We had a great stay at 1881! The house was beautiful, well stocked, and just as advertised. Plenty of room for our family to gather -- whether on the main floor watching a movie or playing air hockey with our 2-year-old grandson in the basement. The house felt like a home rather than a rental, as every room was decorated beautifully. The location was very good. We ended up going to a handful of wineries and breweries (Devil's Backbone, Blue Mountain, Hazy Mountain to name a few) and enjoyed them all. We drove to Charlottesville one night for dinner (at Tavola). The owners are so thoughtful, texting to make sure we had everything we needed after checking in (we did!). Whenever we head back to Wintergreen, we definitely will stay at 1881 again!

Very nice property, great choice for our family of several adults and one two year old. we got some hiking in and my husband played some golf. Nellysford is close by if you need a nice cup of coffee or a trip to the grocery store. Good choice for us as it’s a good compromise for the NOVA people and the Richmond crowd. We also really enjoyed the less crowded atmosphere ass opposed to the summer beach experience.

Perfect house for a Thanksgiving celebration with my family! Large living room with views of the woods and beautiful sunsets. The only recommendation I have is to bring folding chairs with you if you have more than 6 in your party and want to eat together. A beautiful and comfortable home - will definitely stay here again!

Great location but big neative was when I stripped the bed the mattress was SEVERELY STAINED with pee. Very surprised that this hasn't been taken care of as beds are stripped after each stay. So they knew it was there and put a sheet on and let me sleep on it?

Cousins’ Weekend!

What a great space and location! The kids loved the air hockey table. We appreciated the spare gas when the tank ran out while grilling. Could’ve used a more thorough clean preceeding arrival, there were a ton of dead bees throughout the house and deck looked untouched. Would’ve appreciated more towels and sufficient toiletries.We hope to visit again sometime.

Awesome for family ski trip!

Our family loved this place! It was perfect for our family and spacious enough to give us room to spread out! We loved the little touches like having night lights (which I forgot to pack) and fully stocked bathrooms (shampoo/body wash) and laundry supplies to use. Felt like we were staying at a friends house. Super close to the slopes and easy accessible driveway and entrance for my dad who needed them.

Great Mountain House

We rented this house to stay in during our daughters wedding weekend. It was perfect for us with 5 bedrooms! It had everything we needed. Owner was very responsive. Would rent it again.

Great stay in wintergreen!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was a perfect set up for us parents and the wide age range of our kids (9-20). Convenient location to the lodge and other resort activities though it’s on the main road which makes it a little challenging to walk places (but with the incline of the mountain most probably wouldn’t anyway). Pictures were true to reality and beds were comfy!

Beautiful house!

My friends and I stayed here for a "girls weekend" and had a wonderful time! The house is very comfortable and well stocked with nice supplies: dishes, appliances, linens, etc. We had a couple of questions at check-in and the owner & property manager were prompt with their replies! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Winterhaven

Great house. Lots of room. 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. 2 fireplaces. Large couches in living room and basement. Easy check-in. Nice large kitchen with all pots, pans, dishes, etc. Laundry facility. My only complaint was the grill was dirty and we were unable to grill out.

Great summer escape

Very well-designed and equipped home that our extended family fully enjoyed. High enough to escape the worst of late July heat at home. Nearby trails and abundant wildlife complement the availability of outdoor sports nearby. We have added to our return list.
