This cozy home is situated up high with a gorgeous view of the mountains and quick access to major grocery stores, gas stations, post offices, restaurants, bars, and fun activities for all seasons.

It includes 3 Bedrooms (2 on the first floor, 1 in the basement) with 3 Bathrooms that allow hosting of up to 6 guests at a time!

Felt like grandma's house in a great way. Although it did not bother my family, it should be noted that there is not central heating and air. There are window units and fans for cooling and space heaters for warming. It was a chilly Nov night and we were very toasty with the space heaters. Perfect place for our mtn road trip. We rested well and were close to food and groceries. Couldn't ask for more.

We love the original pine paneling and what looks like original wood floors. Nice town, close to Grandfather Mt, Boone, Linville Falls.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The cabin was lovely, and the best part of my trip was being so close to all the amazing hikes in the area. This is a great spot for anyone looking to explore Boone, Blowing Rock, or Linville Gorge, and it was the perfect place to come back to and reset after a day of adventure. PS My favorite hike was Table Rock, and Wiseman’s View is an absolute must-do.

update/maintenance required

It is an ok home, but needs some cleaning, maintenance, and updates. I understand it was built in the 50's, but some upgrades are important. It was still being cleaned at check-in time. The toilet down stairs needs a new seal as it refills all night long. The window sills are filthy/gooey and when opened, were filled with dirt. The wiring is sketchy. Many switches do not operate anything. Some outlets do not work and a lamp was left plugged in with no bulb, in a kids room (and the room has no door). One bathroom door doesn't stay shut without the help of a floor weight and the 1/2 bath door doesn't shut and the handle is falling off. The toilets are old and use lots of water per flush. The lights in the upstairs bathrooms are very old fluorescents that strobe when turned on. When the weather turned cold, one baseboard heater could not be used as furniture was up against it and there is no room to move it around. The interior is very dark. The location would be great, but it was not disclosed that a main road is right above the house, so all traffic is audible all night! I did read one review that said the linens were old. Seems that most beds and linens have been updated. The showers have been upgraded and are nice. We could not locate any written instructs for anything, including how to handle linens, dishes, etc.

My friends and I stayed at the property while we hiked the area. The home was clean, spacious, and very well decorated. If I come to the area again, I will be staying here!

Came to the area to explore the Mount near by. House was a great central location to everything we wanted to go do. House was bigger than what we thought it would be and secluded just enough to enjoy some peace and quiet.
