Nestled in a Beech, Hemlock and Oak forest sits the Satori Cottage. In Zen Buddhism, "satori" means a sudden spiritual awakening. Whether you are on a spiritual or philosophical path to awakening or just looking for a tranquil escape from your busy life, you'll not be disappointed with an escape to the Satori Cottage. This amazing vacation home boasts an uber private lot with amazing catwalk deck to enjoy the lot's view of the stream valley. This Japanese inspired cottage, tastefully decorated with amazing amenities features two Master Suites (one upstairs, one downstairs). Guests that appreciate the beauty of the woods; but, like access to restaurants and shopping in Ligonier and Greensburg will love this for their next getaway. The home sits streamside at the end of dead end lane. Folks that are seeking solitude, quiet and peaceful oasis will not be disappointed with the Satori Cottage. Our guests will enjoy the sounds of rushing water from the screened porch or fall asleep to Spring Peepers chirp while drifting off gently moving water. You can dine out or stay home and whip up your own cuisine in the kitchen and eat at the dining room table and enjoy the view from the triple sliding door wall of windows. Just a little over an hour from Pittsburgh and minutes to Ligonier the Satori Cottage makes an exceptional meditative getaway for discerning guests.

My sister and I chose this home for its uniqueness and the tranquil area. We we NOT disappointed! The house and surroundings were lovely. We LOVED the hot tub looking out over the creek and woods. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It snowed 5 or 6 inches on our departure day, but we just drove really slow on the private road.

Very quiet location, and still close to stores, restaurants, and activities. Really enjoyed the ~0.25 mile walking path.

Beautiful house in a quite forest area. House and hot tub were amazing, you can hear the stream from the bedroom windows. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.

Weekend retreat

Cottage was as advertised. Very peaceful and secluded. Hot tub was the highlight for us. Only issue we ran into was the instructions we were given had incorrect WiFi info. We found the correct info on the bulletin board to the right of the refrigerator

We were very happy with our stay. The owners put a lot of thought into creating a peaceful environment. I would caution that the living room is not large and think it may be a little tight for 2 couples although probably fine a family of 4. We would definitely stay there again.

Great Getaway

Beautiful secluded property. Will be booking again in the fall so that we are able to enjoy all the amenities offered outside. Everything was great except for the cleanliness of the property, looked as if the cleaner did not care at all.

The property is in an idyllic setting and you're welcomed by the sound of the babbling brook that runs under a small bridge with wooden loveseat.The kitchen is well-appointed with dishware and cooking / baking ware for preparing meals. Every room in the home was spotless and it was extremely quiet. The smart TV made it possible for us to log into our own streaming services. We needed to contact the property manager for something small and he promptly answered our call - we felt well-connected to the ownership team.This is definitely a location I would book again and heartily recommend. Excellent across the board!

Pictures and description do not do justice to the peacefulness of the rental. Very relaxing and rejuvenating. Perfect for private reflection. Rental exhibits the peacefulness expected in a Japanese home. Close to Ligonier and its shops. Definitely will return.

Our stay was very nice, beautiful view to enjoy. Would have been nice if owner had provided some games, playing cards, etc. TV was very hard to figure out & there were no instructions on how to operate; Fumbled with it all weekend. House was warm & cosy!

Beautiful location in a wooded, quiet area. Front door very difficult to open. We figured out that you pull the door toward you & then push out very strongly once unlocked. This needs fixed. When leaving to go to the airport, the road was closed for resurfacing. We were told that a letter went to the owner, we were not told. We sat for an hour waiting to get out. Very upsetting.

We are glad you enjoyed the property! The owner is taking care of the front door - the humidity has been a problem but he has found a solution to make the door easier to work. We were also made aware that there would be road work, but it appears they started a day earlier than expected - sorry this made leaving the property difficult. We would have certainly provided a heads up if we were given one.

Among nature

A charming, comfortable, well-appointed Japanese-themed modern cottage set on a hillside at the end of a gravel road overlooking a stream and tall trees undergirded by a blanket of forest ferns. The property even has its own 1/4 mile or so loop trail. A delightful hot tub was recently installed. Not far from Ligonier and about 2 miles from the locally popular Idlewild Soak Zone. Responsive property management. Highly recommend.
