Pedro Herrera Casita, Est. 1857

Une des plus anciennes maisons de Tubac, ce charmant territoriale de style adobe casita, construit en 1857, était le foyer de premier maître de poste du village, Pedro Herrera. Malheureusement, Pedro et le reste des habitants ont été forcés de fuir Tubac pour Tucson en 1861, en raison de raids répétés par Apaches de Cochise sur les proches montagnes de Santa Rita. Le premier maître de poste ne revint jamais. Aujourd'hui, le Pedro Herrera Casita a été joliment restauré et mis à jour par le propriétaire actuel. Il propose un hébergement confortable, retraite romantique avec toutes les commodités modernes, y compris le chauffage central / climatisation et refroidisseur par évaporation, service par satellite Dish Network, et la connexion internet sans fil.

Situé sur une demi-acre de terrain en terrasses et magnifiquement paysagé, partagée par la résidence du propriétaire, la casita est ombragée par de vieux peuplements de feuillus et d'arbres fruitiers et est à seulement quelques minutes de la rivière Santa Cruz et le sentier de Anza, offrant merveilleuse marche, la randonnée, le vélo et l'observation des oiseaux à travers magnifique peuplier vieux-croissance et forêts Mesquite. Moins d'un paysage désertique qu'il est un riverain, la région est une destination de vacances préférée pour les ornithologues qui viennent voir l'incroyable diversité et la fécondité des résidents et les espèces migratrices.

Le 750-sq. pied casita est meublé de meubles antiques de style colonial, et comprend une chambre / une salle de bain; bordé de pierres d'origine foyer de travail Adobe; cuisine entièrement équipée; buanderie séparée avec machine à laver / sèche-linge et évier utilitaire; patio de briques avec barbecue à gaz et une table de salle à manger parapluie ombragé. Bien que seulement quelques pas de rues commerçantes animées de Tubac, Pedro Herrera Casita est sa propre enclave privée, offrant à nos clients la tranquillité et la sérénité dans une atmosphère Vieux Monde.

We spent 3 days exploring in Tubac and could not have picked a better place for lodging. The hosts were accommodating and gracious. Hiking, museums, restaurants, stores, everything within walking distance. We even walked to the resort for lunch! This property is an oasis in the desert and although we were able to see most of Tubac in 3 days, we would love to come back here and stay!

My wife, and I along with our beloved dog :) just enjoyed 3 days in Tubac.Jim and Amy could not have been more pleasant and gracious host. The property was very as decribed, adequate size for two, a historical residence, which made it specialfor us. Location is perefect, walking distance to many shops. The yard was very appropriate for our dog. There is a small section behind the house, which was great, but beyond that, the host has an amazing yard had we wished, our dog could have explored, we didnt need that, but was great that option was there.We highly recommed the property and can hardly wait to come back again.

We loved this casita. There were three distinct outdoor seating areas: a front porch where we could see the sunrise over the mountains, a charming side porch where we watched and heard many birds among the lush greenery, and a brick patio in the backyard with an umbrella table. Jim and Amy greeted us on our arrival and made sure we were comfortable.

This historic casita is our favorite VRBO property. We like to stay in historic places and staying in one built in 1857 was wonderful! The host has the home designed and stocked with everything you need during your stay. It has a lovely front porch, side yard seating and a lovely patio out back. There are lots of places to relax, read or enjoy a glass of wine inside and out.

This was one of the more special places I have stayed. Authentic. Historic adobe casita just outside he busy part of Tubac. We loved everything about it. Well stocked with whatever needed to cook, but we chose to eat at local restaurants. Outdoor spaces were also lovely. Hosts are available but we felt complete privacy. We will be back!

Perfect place for a getaway

We loved our time at the casita in Tubac - everything was very clean and well laid out for a comfortable, relaxing vacation. The host was kind and met us promptly when we arrived, and we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Tubac.

Tubac and the casita, seem to be increasingly discovered by our Tucson neighbors. Perhaps it's the result of the pandemic, and the desire people have to get out of the house without having to travel far. In any case, we welcome guests such as these, who reveled in the peace and relaxation offered by the casita. A lovely couple here for their anniversary.

Casita Tranquilo

We loved this high desert hideaway located right in the center of the Tubac historic district. A perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy the walkability of the town and surrounding trails. Jim was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home.
