Pedro Herrera Casita, Est. 1857

Une des plus anciennes maisons de Tubac, ce charmant territoriale de style adobe casita, construit en 1857, était le foyer de premier maßtre de poste du village, Pedro Herrera. Malheureusement, Pedro et le reste des habitants ont été forcés de fuir Tubac pour Tucson en 1861, en raison de raids répétés par Apaches de Cochise sur les proches montagnes de Santa Rita. Le premier maßtre de poste ne revint jamais. Aujourd'hui, le Pedro Herrera Casita a été joliment restauré et mis à jour par le propriétaire actuel. Il propose un hébergement confortable, retraite romantique avec toutes les commodités modernes, y compris le chauffage central / climatisation et refroidisseur par évaporation, service par satellite Dish Network, et la connexion internet sans fil.

Moins d'un paysage dĂ©sertique qu'il est un riverain, la rĂ©gion est une destination de vacances prĂ©fĂ©rĂ©e pour les ornithologues qui viennent voir l'incroyable diversitĂ© et la fĂ©conditĂ© des rĂ©sidents et les espĂšces migratrices.

Le 750-sq. pied casita est meublé de meubles antiques de style colonial, et comprend une chambre / une salle de bain; bordé de pierres d'origine foyer de travail Adobe; cuisine entiÚrement équipée; buanderie séparée avec machine à laver / sÚche-linge et évier utilitaire; patio de briques avec barbecue à gaz et une table de salle à manger parapluie ombragé. This was one of the more special places I have stayed. Authentic. Historic adobe casita just outside he busy part of Tubac. We loved everything about it. Well stocked with whatever needed to cook, but we chose to eat at local restaurants. Outdoor spaces were also lovely. Hosts are available but we felt complete privacy. We will be back!

This historic casita is our favorite VRBO property. We like to stay in historic places and staying in one built in 1857 was wonderful! The host has the home designed and stocked with everything you need during your stay. It has a lovely front porch, side yard seating and a lovely patio out back. There are lots of places to relax, read or enjoy a glass of wine inside and out.

This little casita is exceptional in every way! Extremely comfortable bed and pillows, fabulous shower and water pressure, adorable kitchen with every convenience including filtered water spout. Excellent wifi, nice flat screen tv, lots of wonderful reading material and comfy leather chair and ottoman for kicking back and relaxing. There's a wonderful private patio with lots of greenery and a barbeque. The historical integrity of this 1857 gem has been lovingly preserved by the owner/host. Both Jim and Amy were warm and welcoming. After a week's stay, it was hard to leave this extraordinary little piece of history and Heaven in the unique little walking town of Tubac. I will definitely be returning!

We really enjoyed this home with all the modern conveniences, fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed, and that rustic mexican charm that I love.Would absolutely stay here again.

Very happy about our stay. We booked just a couple days in advance on sort of a last minute. Location was good and the room itself was very clean with a lot of accommodations. Jim was very easy to deal with and made our stay easy and great. Will definitely recommend.

Perfect place for a getaway

We loved our time at the casita in Tubac - everything was very clean and well laid out for a comfortable, relaxing vacation. The host was kind and met us promptly when we arrived, and we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Tubac.

Wonderful stay in a historic property in Tubac

If you enjoy staying at historic properties and are planning a trip to Tubac, I would highly recommend this property. The home is within walking distance to Tubac which is a plus. We loved everything about the property and Jim, the host, has thought of everything visitors might need for their stay. We enjoyed sitting on the covered front porch and the lovely side porch. And the inside of the home is comfortable and artistically decorated. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need, so on our next visit, we plan to cook more meals there. There is a water filtration system, so that was a big plus too. Although we didn’t use it, there is a lovely back patio with a grill for cooking outside too. The home has a washer and a dryer, something else that is a plus. The bed was comfortable and there were wardrobes and a dresser for clothes if you are staying longer (which we absolutely plan to do next time). There is air conditioning, but we only used the swamp cooler since it kept the home very comfortable. TV streaming had lots of choices and the sofa, desk, dining table and reading chair in the main room was very comfortable and functional. Jim, the host, is an author and enjoys making sure his guests have a wonderful experience! He made my husband’s birthday memorable and enjoyable. This was our best VRBO property yet and we are looking forward to staying again in the near future!

A Slice of Heaven

We stayed 20 days Each day at the Casita was perfect Every detail well thought out, so many special period touches in this, the first permanent building in Tubac Easy walking up town or further afield Amy, property manager was super responsive if we needed anything ( Coffee grinder died one day Replaced the same day) spent afternoons in private courtyard Spent mornings walking Hated to leave this morning Really, it was perfect for the two of us Can’t wait to return

Great Casita

This is a very old property, yet Jim has done a great job of updating it without taking away from its old beauty. It was a very comfortable pleasant stay. A very quiet area with much beauty surrounding the house. It is right in the center of the art district and yet seems so far away from things. Loved the time I spent there. I will be back.

A wonderful place to visit . Our host ( Jim Fergus ) was kind, gracious and personable. Property was quiet, private and beautifully kept. The quality of linens and towels and everything else really was top shelf.
