Knickerbocker Knoll is a stylish and modern cabin with treetop views and an emphasis on minimalism and tranquility, in the heart of the Catskills, located 2 hours from NYC.



Set on 4 private acres surrounded by woodlands, the lodge has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Amenities include a wood burning stove, hot tub, firepit, and access to the best hiking and dining in the region. The lively town of Livingston Manor is about 10 minutes away and Callicoon is under 20 minutes.



The Space:

Set back from a quiet road, on four acres of private woodland, not far from the Willowemoc Wild Forest, Knickerbocker Knoll is a modern cabin ideal for lovers of design and the great outdoors.



The interior starts with an open floor plan and is a blend of Danish and American mid-century modern design. There is a well-appointed kitchen with butcher block countertops and a generous island with seating so you can keep the chef company. Make the perfect brew with the iconic Technivorm Moccamaster coffee machine and check the day’s forecast or play your favorite music on Spotify through the smart speaker.



Set on the other side of the open living space is a modernist seating area. With sliding glass doors lining the length of the space, sitting on the sofa is both an indoor and outdoor activity. A large painting of the beloved Kaaterskill Falls by local artist Steven Weinberg acts as another natural focal point to the room. Beneath the artwork a Vintage B&O turntable and dedicated speaker system allows guests to play the growing vinyl collection, while the super-cool Bouroullec Brothers-designed “Serif TV” looks so good you might not even bother turning it on.



The marble top dining table seats 4, with additional stools to circle around and enjoy a meal as a group. Beside the table, the cornered wood stove provides a cozy meeting point, perfectly situated for fireside chats.



Through the hall, the master king bedroom is an expansive sanctuary with a giant picture window that frames the woods beyond. This room truly feels like you’re nestled amongst the solace of the trees. There is a door providing direct access to the deck. The master en-suite bathroom features an incredible soaking tub with a view, and has a walk-in shower and double vanity sinks.



Two additional queen-sized bedrooms also take advantage of the views and natural light. The ample guest bath features a shower and tub combo.



Out onto the deck, there is a large gas grill, a dining table for up to six, and two Tamarack lounge chairs, made for relaxing and taking in the views out over the rocky ledge. Enjoy the newly installed hot tub or, head down the hill into the open clearing in the woodlands to enjoy the firepit.



Located on a sleepy mountain road, Knickerbocker Knoll sits just outside Willowemoc Wild Forest, home to several great hikes, and is less than five minutes to The Club Room at The DeBruce Inn. After you’ve worked up an appetite in the fresh mountain air, head into the town of Livingston Manor for some of the best eats, drinks and shops.



The Neighborhood:

Knickerbocker Knoll, is located in the heart of the Catskills, in the hamlet of Livingston Manor. This quaint walkable town has lots of explore-worthy stores and restaurants. Grab a sandwich and local groceries at Main Street Farm, enjoy wood-fired pizza outdoors at The Kaatskeller, pick up some local wines at Upstream, or shop at the farmers market. Try fly fishing on Willowemoc Creek, golf nearby at Sullivan Country Country Club, horseback ride at Bridle Hill Farm, visit the alpacas at Buck Brook Farm or explore the various hikes around the Catskills. In the winter, head to the slopes at Belleayre Mountain, just 45 minutes away and easily accessible for a fun-filled day of skiing.



Getting Around:

Knickerbocker Knoll is less than two hours from New York City, and while you'll definitely want a car to get there and around the area, there is also a Short Line bus to the city from Monticello, about 20 minutes away. In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
