Hosts were wonderful and extremely communicative. The cabin is lovely and was great for a family of 5. It's a bit confusing getting up the mountain especially in the dark with limited cell service but it's relaxing and comfortable once you make it! Definitely recommend this cabin for a nice escape!

The hosts were communicative and provided great detail about the house as well as things to do nearby. They put a lot of thought and effort into their guidebook, which was very helpful. This was also the cleanest rental I've ever had, which is so appreciated. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed and then some. Hope to stay here again sometime. It was perfect!

Excellent communication with the host! Everything was perfect, a fully stocked kitchen to cook all your meals, comfy beds, cozy couches, very clean, light and bright, everything seemed new, views from the deck were amazing, hot tub was relaxing, plenty of games in the closet to keep everybody busy, good size bathrooms, there were wooden and metal sticks to make marshmallows for s’mores in the fire pit, grill worked perfectly, we loved having the dishwasher since we cooked all meals for all eight of us Thursday through Sunday, ample parking & great roads for walking in the beautiful area! We will rent again!

Great Mountain Get Away

Our family enjoyed our visit to Wolf Laurel. Cabin was great. We loved fishing at the trout pond. So awesome that we were able to bring our fur baby. Definitely recommend!!

The cabin was just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. It was the perfect place to have a relaxing girls trip. We had everything we needed including towels, pots and pans, coffee pot (with Kcups!), a crock pot, a wine opener and a washer/dryer. We hiked to big bald from inside the neighborhood which was only about 3/4 of a mile and watched the sunrise- which i highly recommend!!! Overall, the place was exactly as advertised, the hot tub was perfect and the hosts were wonderful and responded quickly with local recommendations for our group. 10/10 we will be back!!!

Weekend mountain getaway

Beautiful Chalet and Views

We had an amazing white Xmas at the Wanderlust Chalet! Wonderful house and views. The house is very well equipped and it had everything we needed. The owners were so kind and very responsive. We would definitely come back.

Enjoyed a wonderful anniversary stay Wanderlust. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Foodie in me loved the fully functioning kitchen and Large Empty Fridge. The views are spectacular and the air refreshing. Can't wait to rebook this again.

Fall break

Our stay during Kentucky fall break was amazing. We loved hiking Big Bald close to the house. Beautiful view off the back patio and the fire pit was great for the kids to enjoy! Hosts responded promptly to any questions we had.

Stay here, it’s worth it

I don’t think we could have had a better stay. The hosts are wonderful and give all kinds of recommendations. The house is well-equipped (linens, kitchenware, and board games). I can’t thank the hosts enough for being accommodating to us with our dogs :)

My family and I had the best time at this home in Mars Hill. We picked the perfect time in October to catching the leaves changing. The mountain views from the house are absolutely amazing and the beautiful space was was perfect for our family of 6 plus two dogs. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. The security gate attendant was very kind as well. During our time in Mars Hill, we went on a horse trail ride and took a few trips to Big Bald since it was so close and not too long of a trek for my mom, who is 70. We also did s'mores by the firepit, which was super fun for the young ones. My niece loved having the arcade in her room and my mom enjoyed waking up to the mountain view in hers. Everyone had a great time and we would love to come back for another visit soon!

Wonderful hosts

While we had a very last minute cancellation due to Hurricane Helene, Kathleen and Sean were fantastic hosts leading up to the trip and beyond. Kathleen shared a book of recommended restaurants and activities in the area, and they both were so kind and thoughtful in handling the cancellation of our booking due to a natural disaster. We hope to be able to visit in the future.

Perfect getaway!

We couldn’t have asked for a better spot. We stayed here on a trip for my husband’s birthday, and everything about it was incredible! The host were so kind and very responsive, and recommended some amazing trails for hiking. The house was clean in a quiet neighborhood, and the views off the porch were gorgeous!! It was a great location and only 40ish minutes to downtown Asheville. This was one of the best stays I’ve had from a VRBO, and we would return to this home in a heartbeat!

Awesome Mountain Getaway !

Had an amazing long weekend celebrating my birthday stay with our adult children. Enjoyed the Community Pool, Pickleball Courts, and Fire Pit with smores at the house. A bonus day of White Water Refting on the river to top off the weekend ! The Mountain House has all the amenities you need. Great location with Amazing Sunset Views ! Fire Pit, Hot Tub, OMG, cant ask for anything more. Cant wait to come back.

Wonderful Stay all around!

Sean and Kathleen were wonderful hosts! I’m amazed at how welcomed you can feel with the owners away! Any little question or concern was quickly answered with a solution as well as ideas for what to do locally! We all also greatly appreciated how clean everything was! Very noticeable in the details of the care that has been put into the beautiful home! Having a great place to stay added to the value of such a great weekend!

Spectacular Mountain Retreat

My family and I love staying in the Blue Ridge Mountains each fall. We are so glad that we booked this property. The hosts were very helpful and communicative throughout our stay. The property is immaculate, well thought out, and the perfect size for our extended family staying with us. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook throughout our stay. The house has a great view of the mountains. The community has a lot of amenities, including a gym, a playground, a pond, and private access to Big Bald mountain which offers breathtaking 360 degree views. I would highly recommend staying at this property to anyone looking for a mountain getaway. We would love to visit again sometime in the future.

A Hidden Gem

We enjoyed the natural beauty of this hidden gem. The view of the sunset was breathtaking. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms clean. Our dog had plenty of room to run around outside and play ball & frisbee. My grown sons had enough outdoor space to set up cornhole and badminton. There was plenty of space to park multiple vehicles easily. Plus, there was a high chair and pack n play on-site. The owners were quick to respond to any questions and made great recommendations for food and activities. We would definitely consider this home again in the future!

Late family Christmas

Property was clean, accessible, with beautiful views, and lots to do. We had a magical experience with the kids seeing their very first snow and having a blast sledding every day. They loved the arcade and we all loved the hot tub! Hosts were excellent communicators and made sure we had everything we needed. The description of the property as listed is accurate with plenty of sleeping room and special woodsy charm. I can’t think of anything negative to say or any changes I’d make. We had a great time! Perfect place! Can’t wait for the ski lodge to be open next year.

An Ideal Family Mountain Cabin

Our family had an amazing week for our Spring Break at the Wanderlust Chalet. The property was incredibly clean, the internet connection was strong, and the cabin was well stocked with dishes, soap, coffee, etc. The bathrooms were very nice, the beds were super comfy, and the kids loved the hot tub. In regards to the layout, it was incredibly friendly for our family of 6 allowing each of our 4 kids to have their own bedroom - which was spaced out well amongst the three floors and offered them some space. The cabin also worked great for our two dogs, it felt secure to stay in, and was very private as we saw very little traffic over the course of our stay. The view from cabin was absolutely amazing, and the location was perfect for us, as it was remote enough to provide a peaceful stay, but also ideal to take day trips to go hiking as well as explore the Asheville area. The owners were incredibly responsive to any questions and very helpful. We would definitely come back and stay here again and would recommend it any families looking for a nice mountain retreat to stay at.

Enjoyed our stay

Cottage as described and clean. Owners very responsive. Parking ample. Beds and couches comfortable. Hot tub was great! View was wonderful - especially sunsets! Deck has lots of seating options! Gas grill was one of the nicest we've ever had at a rental! Kitchen well stocked, though smallish if more than 2 people at the same time. Plenty of towels for shower and hot tub. Good laundry facilities. 1 king upstairs with BR. King and Queen rooms on main level share BR. 2 Queen rooms downstairs share bathroom. Good ceiling fans and TVs. Hot tub on lower level. Stairs up and down are a little narrow - (step-wise, not width of stairwell). Floors and doors are a little creaky. Temperature varied from upstairs (warm) to downstairs (cooler).Would have really liked bedside tables on each side of beds where possible. :)We enjoyed our stay and appreciated check-ins from the owner.
