Jon, is very communicative and provides an excellent place to stay. We lost power on the last day due to the remnants of hurricane Isaias, he knew of it without us informing him and offered us to stay longer if needed.

We had a wonderful stay and absolutely loved this beautiful cabin and the area! The cabin itself is adorable, cozy, and has so much character. We stayed busy exploring and had a lovely time.I especially want to mention our host, Jon. He was incredibly kind, accommodating, and responsive, and when we brought some concerns to his attention, he went above and beyond to rectify the situation. We truly appreciated how understanding and gracious he was throughout the entire process.Things don't always go perfectly, but what really matters is how someone responds when an issue comes up, and Jon handled everything with kindness and professionalism. We would absolutely recommend staying here and would love to return!

We had a three person old Boy Scout friends get together at Jon's Cabin in Rabun's Gap, Georgia. The Mountain Air Was Fantastic, and the Cabin had all we needed and even a few surprises. There was a brand new top of the line washer and dryer, dishwasher, Coal Webber Grill, and beautiful outdoor shower. There were a few questions we had, and Jon answered them ASAP. We did some antiquing, fishing, sight seeing, cooking, and watched DVDs on the NEW Player that was in the cabin. Like the Bear themed cabin, and the rustic beauty of the area. It was quiet and peaceful. It was just a driveways from the Black Mountain State Park, and the Appalachian Life Museums of buildings. The slightly cooler weather was a nice break from the HOT Florida weather. Would recommend this property. Roger, Visitor From Florida.

The location and the cabin itself were great, and the stay was overall very comfortable. However, the main issue was cleanliness. The house was not properly cleaned upon arrival, which was disappointing. With better attention to cleaning, this place would be excellent.

Cabin in the woods

What a wonderful cabin on the mountain. Cute and charming with everything you need. Peaceful and relaxing will stay again.

Super adorable cabin but it needs a deep cleaning. The property owner is extremely kind. He needs to hire a new cleaning person!

Always appreciate this feedback. We made the necessary changes to the cleaning crew and we were very apologetic to our guests for them finding the cabin not to their liking. We refunded the cleaning fee and offerred a full refund if they didn’t care to stay for their entire allotted time. Our new cleaning crew is more meticulous and shows us photos of the home after each cleaning.

Perfect Location

Enjoyed our stay. We had several local places we wanted to visit and this was a great spot. Also enjoyed Black Rock Lake and State Park. Perfect for my husband and I plus daughters family. Had everything we needed to cook from steaks to full breakfast.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

We absolutely loved this comfy, eclectic, little cabin! It is well stocked with everything you would need, very clean, comfy beds, great woodsy setting with a front porch swing, extremely close to Black Rock Mountain State Park, and Jon, the owner, is super responsive and helpful. We hope to go back again some day!

Kick back and relax!

We found this property to be very homey and comfortable. As if we were welcome family in it. It is a mountain house which is exactly our comfort zone! Quiet nights and a very pretty neighborhood. Nice walking trails near by.

Heaven in the Treetops

Very relaxing with beautiful woodland views and close proximity to numerous hiking trails in Black Rock Mountain State Park. We saw several deer and a bear too! We brought our Airedale, and he loved it(as well as us)! Thank you for a fabulous family vacation!

Mountain getaway

The property is right next to Black Rock Mountain Park, about 6 minutes up the mountain, not a bad drive. Lots of activities close by in the little towns around the area. Jon the owner was very nice. House is nice for a small family. Lots of windows look out on a gorgeous mountain view.

Nice Get Away

Everything is there that you should need! We cooked a turkey dinner after hiking the trails at Black Rock Mountain. Very relaxing. Nice that there are books to read and maps of the area. Will be back again!

Amazing cabin in nature!

I absolutely love this cabin. It is very cozy, comfortable, and is FULLY LOADED. They have literally anything you would need to have an amazing time in nature. Very cute cabin and Steve was very helpful in answering all my questions promptly. Will definitely come back and absolutely recommend staying here. Thank you Steve!

Enjoyed it but—-

We had a nice time, enjoyed our stay, but a few improvements could be made Musty smell, and possibly smokers Seriously needs better lighting! Otherwise, location was ideal for hikers, and was very serene and peaceful.

Thanks for your feedback Ed. During the rainy season the damp surroundings of the trees and shade can occasionally lead to a little musty smell on the inside, if you open up the windows for 10 minutes it's gone and you have nothing but the fresh mountain air. Not sure where your smelled smoke as we are a non-smoking cabin and guests are not permitted to smoke indoors. Our lighting has been complimented several times by previous guests as we rely on the natural light coming from the large picture frame windows, but at night we have ample lighting including a 1250 lumen LED light on the haiku fan in the main room. Perhaps you didn't use that as the light switch is on the remote control for the fan. We welcome you back if you are in the area and hope to continue improving for you and the rest of our guests.

"TREETOPS" weekend was "TOPS"!!!

Just returned from a lovely autumn weekend stay at "Treetops". As frequent VRBO renters, we were totally impressed with everything about the stay..........the location, the scenery, and especially the coziness of the house. We had everything and more than what we needed for our stay. The nights were chilly, so the abundance of firewood and the blower on the woodstove made our stay comfy and warm. This house has EVERYTHING necessary for a home away from home experience. I knew that I had chosen a special place when I saw the doggie food and water bowls. As 'treetops' is only a very short drive from Clayton, we were able to do some antique shopping and also visited a local studio that houses 35 local artists. We will definitely stay there again, as this is our favorite VRBO thus far.

Great location, well equipped, could use some updating.

Nice little cabin in a location very conveniently located to Black Rock State Park. Nice layout and well equipped with everything you need. Could use some updating though as it was very musty smelling. The bunk beds were nice, but the two beds in the bedrooms were not queens and were very old and in need of updating. Every time you moved the bed creaked and sounded like it was going to break. Front porch was very dirty and not really useable unless a lot of cleaning was done first. With new beds and getting rid of the mustiness it would be a very nice place though.

Always appreciate the feedback. We keep the cabin bundled up between guests and when it rains there is sometimes a different smell when you arrive. I think you will agree that after you open a window or run the AC for a few minutes the smell is gone and replaced by the wonderful fresh air we have up there. Agree with you about the outside deck, so we added new boards and put a fresh coat of paint outside to clean it up. The paint is a new technology with "non-skid" in it to make the deck safer as well as more beautiful. Always appreciate the feedback and we hope you come back and experience the upgrades and changes we applied based on your review.

All the Comforts of Home plus views to die for and fun hikes

What a cozy delightful stay we had at TREETOPS. Homey, gramma's house decor, Comfortable beds. The wood burning stove was amazing. I was worried because the forecast told us the weekend was going to be COLD. I wrote the owner and he assured me that there was a back up heating system. We never used it! The stove was centrally located and had a blower system. The whole place was toasty and the wood fire smelled so great! My friend and I both love hikes, and there were well marked, fun trails at different difficulty levels within walking distance and even more a short drive away. Also, there is a WONDERFUL grocery store with everything from goat cheese to a great selection of fresh herbs to an olive bar just a few minutes away down the mountai----and at TREETOPS the kitchen was so well stocked and organized that I was able to indulge my love of cooking. Pretty much a perfect weekend!

Another "hidden gem" up there for fresh fruits and vegetables is the Osage Farm where you can get "straight from the dirt" produce from March until the end of October. It's located just north of Mountain City on the way to Dillard. Check it out when you come back!

Beautiful Wooded View, Happy Porch Swing, Awesome Host

My favorite spot - The Porch Swing! Great view and made it feel like home, I have two on my porch. Jon is one of the most generous, attentive and gracious host we have dealt with. His attention and quick responses to your questions goes above and beyond. His property is wooded and feels secluded even though there are houses around it. The trails and proximity to Black Rock Mountain State Park make this a great place for hiking. The house was VERY clean (smelled fresh and clean), well-furnished and stocked. My first impression on opening the door was "Oh wow". The split-level layout makes it even more roomy feeling. The beds were comfortable and the wood burning stove is awesome. There were no negatives to this property in our opinion. A most welcome stay and much needed break. As for the driveway, it is concrete and wide, and does have a sharp turn at the top to park under the house, but I (a woman) navigated it easily the first time in my husband's Chevy 2500 (large, tall, and not a great turning radius), so anybody should be able to negotiate it. Everything was as pictured with the exception of an updated flat-top stove and the chairs at the kitchen island (they are now stools). The picture on VRBO of the outside of the house does not capture the real essence/look of the house (the railing has been updated and the house is lovelier than the picture). Thank you, Jon, for sharing your lovely place with us! We hope to return!
