CABIN IN THE WOODS - Quiet, secluded yet close to activities!

Rustic and secluded cabin nestled in the beautiful wooded hills of the NE Oklahoma Ozarks. The cabin offers solitude for those who really want to get away and unwind, and yet still close to many amenities and activities for those wanting more action. Located in the gated resort community of Flint Ridge in NE Oklahoma with on-site 9 hole executive golf course, canoeing , kayaking and fishing on the Illinois river or nearby Flint Creek, swimming in one of two resort swimming pools, hiking, biking, and exploring all within minutes of the cabin. The community even has a mini golf course for the kids, basketball and tennis courts, and of course bountiful nature viewing from deer, wild turkey, hummingbirds and many other species of birds.

The 950 sq ft cabin is 2 story with one bedroom (queen bed) and bathroom downstairs and another bedroom (full) and bathroom in the loft upstairs. The loft also has a futon for extra sleeping room if necessary. The cabin has covered porches in both the front and back that allows ample room for relaxing and enjoying the beauty of nature. The cabin is off the main road so very little road noise and no houses or cabins close enough to be seen. It is so quiet and serene!

If you want to cook your own meals, then the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need plus there is a 22” Blackstone grill and standard propane grill on the back porch as well. Standard condiments are in the fridge and various seasonings are available too. If you want to eat out, there is a small restaurant/grill in the main clubhouse with table service or take-out (many Flint Ridge residents do this). Other eating out opportunities are nearby in Kansas, Oklahoma (about 10 minutes), Siloam Springs (about 25 minutes) and Tahlequah (35 minutes).

The cabin is located on a hillside so please watch your footing when getting to and from your vehicle and walking around the cabin grounds. Also, the stairway to the loft upstairs is steep so please use the handrail and be cautious. Children should be supervised when using the stairs and seniors should be extra cautious.

Perfect Getaway

Absolutely beautiful cabin, in a great location. Wonderful amenities for cooking, nice outdoor area and close to so many fun things to do. My absolute favorite part were all the beautiful hummingbirds! Loved them!!

We had a great time over Thanksgiving staying at Cabin in the Woods. Greg is a GREAT host/communicator and we had everything we needed. The area offers plenty to do if you're willing to get out and explore. Can't wait to be back!

Cabin getaway in the woods.

Our family enjoyed our getaway at the cabin! From the location tucked away of the main road to the charm of the cabin itself, the property provides plenty of privacy and peace. Morning we’re especially wonderful with the sun rising through the trees.

short get away

My husband, myself and our 2 dogs decided to get away for a few days to just relax/explore. We booked this location to be near Disney Oklahoma to go jeeping and hiking near the cabin. We also just relaxed and enjoyed the quiet. Highly recommend this lovely location.

Our weekend at the cabin.

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the cabin. We found all the notes very handy on how to use the amenities. The weather wasn't great but sitting out on the poarch was nice. We would definitely go back.

The property was a tad bit smaller than I assumed. Overall everything was well stocked and cleaned and the AC worked well. No complaints here, had a great time!

Secluded, relaxing, well stocked.

A long weekend away with friends, this home provided a perfect setting to get away from it all. Comfortably furnished, great deck in back for watching the hummingbirds and other wildlife. Came for the Cherokee National Holiday in Talequah, about 40 minute drive. Host very responsive to questions. Hope to return again next year!

What a peaceful weekend!

Comfy

Fully equipped comfort. Property is private and easily accessed. Exactly what we were looking for. Cooking breakfast on the deck was fun and we enjoyed the heater while enjoying the meal and beautiful scenery.

Appropriately named property! Truely is a Cabin in the Woods. So quiet and secluded, nestled into the Flint Ridge Resort property. Had everything you could imagine provided to save guests from having to make trips for amenities. So peaceful to sit on the back deck with the sounds of nature and hummingbirds galore at the feeders!

Quiet and clean

My husband and I, along with our two daughters, stayed here over Easter weekend. The cabin was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. We enjoyed exploring the resort areas by the river. We saw a bald eagle in one outing! With the stocked kitchen enabled us to eat mostly at home. We enjoyed a delicious lunch a short drive away at Heart & Soul Kitchen in Kansas, OK. Greg was very responsive and helpful. We would love to stay here again!

Exactly what we were hoping for

It can be hard to tell how a place will feel from the pictures. This place met and exceeded all of our expectations. It was incredibly clean, had lots of amenities (internet, streaming services, games, Keurig, etc.), and was ideal in every way. It has a great vibe! I was a little worried about having close neighbors since we were looking to "get away from it all" and this place is very secluded. There's not a neighbor within eye or ear shot. Greg was also very responsive and helpful. We'll definitely be coming back next time we need a weekend escape!

Sweet Getaway

We were there the 1st week October. Most of the resort activities were not in season. Fortunately, we truely enjoyed the coziness and serenity of the cabin! The kitchen had the supplies we needed to cook meal. The cabin had hommie touches and small extras to feel welcoming and inviting. The host had an information book for us so we had some information about the area. He checked with us multiple times to make sure we had what we needed. It was a lovely weekend getaway even in the off season! While there were neighbors, theres enough space between that we never saw or heard them. We would happily stay here again!

Cozy and clean!

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin in the woods! We were in town for a float trip in Tahlequah which was about a 20 minute drive. The cute little cabin was immaculately clean and comfortably fit our group of 5 adults. It was well appointed with everything we needed for cooking, etc. along with a lot of small touches that were very nice. We loved cooking most of our meals on the Blackstone while enjoying the hummingbirds off the back deck. Although located inside the gated Flint Ridge Community, the cabin was secluded and peaceful. The cabin was stocked with a basketball and tennis gear which we did use at the community courts. Greg was a great host. He made sure we had all of the info needed prior to check in and was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

The BEST cabin we've ever stayed at

We arrived at the cabin and upon driving up we immediately knew we had found a VRBO goldmine. Absolutely charming and quaint cabin nestled in the woods. Very secluded, surrounded by the forest and wildlife. The cabin inside was very clean and comfortable. After a quick look around I noticed the attention to detail the host had put into making sure every single detail was perfect. I'm a big cook so I was worried about having to run to the nearest store to buy anything that may have not been supplied but found there was literally everything you would want including coffee/sugar, pots, pans and a big bowl of spices to name a few. Those are things that are very important to travelers that are often overlooked. The back porch was our favorite hangout to drink our coffee and watch the hummingbirds and cooked breakfast on the griddle. Book this cabin and know you are in for a real treat. You won't even want to leave to go anywhere! There was literally no stone left unturned here. We stay at A LOT of rentals but this one is definitely our new favorite and we will definitely be back soon. The host was also extremely hospitable and super friendly. Thank you Greg for such a wonderful, much-needed, relaxing get-a-way when we needed it most.

Just say YES!

Very few places are better in person vs the booking photos. This sweet little cabin far exceeded our expectations. Everything was immaculately clean. Kitchen was well appointed for any cooking needs. Beds were like sleeping on marshmallows ( very soft & comfortable). We enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning. The hummingbirds are very entertaining! Bathrooms are nicely updated and very clean. Towels and bedding were high end, soft and luxurious. The location is perfect if you really want to be away from noise and the busy hustle and bustle of the city. It’s very secluded. Be sure to grab groceries/ ice on the way in. It’s not a super quick drive to pick up those things but we loved that the most! The resort is huge with tons of activities. Multiple pools, mini golf, tennis and we were even able to book a float trip on property without even having to leave the resort. Siloam springs is a short drive away & had a cute little downtown area with neat shops & restaurants. Honestly, we can’t wait to book here again. Truly a hidden gem. Ps- the loft stairs are pretty steep, may be tougher for older individuals or families with very small kids.
