Cozy cabin retreat with private lake

Enjoy the serenity of the woods from the back deck of this 70 acre home just steps away from a private 2-acre lake. This beautiful, spacious cabin is located 8 miles from Slippery Rock University and 13 miles from Grove City College and offers the perfect family retreat. Bring your fishing poles and hiking shoes and spend your time taking in the scenery. Outdoors you will find a lovely wraparound deck with plenty of seating and a patio space that includes a hot tub and outdoor shower. Other amenities include a fire pit, lake, canoe, DIRECTV cable, gas grill, and wifi.

All linens for bedding, towels, and washcloths are provided. Starter packs of paper goods such as toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, and conditioner are provided. The kitchen has dishes, cups, utensils, cookware, microwave, and coffee maker. Washer and dryer are available.

The home has a driveway that easily accommodates 3-5 vehicles.

SURROUNDING AREA: Slippery Rock University is 8 miles from our home. Explore the fantastic restaurants in town and the college campus. Moraine State Park, 20 miles from our home, offers many activities including hiking, swimming, and boating. If you enjoy shopping, Grove City outlets are only minutes from our home, shop until you drop then head back to the cabin for a relaxing soak in the hot tub.

*This home is located in the woods. With that comes all of the native creatures that live amongst us in the area. While we do our routine pest control, it is impossible to get rid of them all. There will be no refund for sightings of pests, insects, wildlife and other animals native for this area.
*If you have a fear of bugs or wildlife, this is not the rental for you.
*We require a signed rental agreement within 72 hours of reservation to avoid potential cancellation of your booking this will be sent to you by email.
*This home has exterior security cameras that record video 24 hours a day.
*a black lab has lived in the cabin for the past 15 years, although we are a pet free rental, there is a dog that stays there occasionally
*the property is located about 0.5 miles down a gravel road
*the owner resides in an adjacent building on the property

Amazing

We had an amazing stay. It was a perfect 3 day get away where we got to enjoy our own little piece of paradise. Beautiful property, and great communication leading up to stay. The views are unmatched first thing in the morning. It was a very beautiful and peaceful trip and we absolutely recommend.

Hidden gem with breathtaking views

Great long weekend for our family at The Highwall! The place was beautiful inside & out. Everyone caught so many fish, watched the wildlife throughout the property & enjoyed the hot tub. It was clean, large enough for all of us and the pond was ideal! Owner Ron & property manager Jackie made our stay and reservations so easy. Can’t wait to go back!

Beautiful Property

This house was well laid out and had great personal touches. We loved the s’mores box! Also used the grill and found all the tools inside the grill, so no hunting around for tools. We did some cooking and baking and the house has everything we needed. We loved looking out the windows and seeing the lake and wild life. Overall, great stay.

Family time

We wanted a quiet place to relax and spend quality family time together. The Highwall was 100% the best choice. Very clean and welcoming the grounds were beautiful and wildlife was amazing to watch. Little touches in the house made our stay very enjoyable.

Perfection!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The scenery from the deck is unmatched- beautiful green hills and pond. We saw all sorts of wildlife and enjoyed many cups of coffee from the deck chairs. This was the perfect place for our parents as well as our children to enjoy. From canoe on the pond to watching the storm and rainbow from the hot tub- we checked all of the boxes :) The host and manager were amazing, responding immediately when we had inquiries. The cabin is spacious with plenty of rooms and beds and full bathrooms. Will definitely be rebooking this gem next opportunity we have!

Beautiful Property

Our family was looking for a location halfway between Bristow, VA and Columbus, OH. We wanted a variety of activities to be accessible. This was a perfect location. It had a lake you could fish and canoe, plus you could walk the gorgeous property. Every day we'd sit on the deck and watch the wildlife - several hummingbirds came right up to the feeder attached to the deck. The location was close to Moraine State Park and about an hour from Pittsburgh. The house was the perfect size for all 7 of us. It was clean. The beds were comfortable. I love an outdoor shower - and this property has one of the best. Our granddaughter loved the firepit (maybe because a smores kit was provided). We met the owner who was extremely helpful. We had no issues during the week. I would highly recommend this property.
