Feeling the need to get outside and move? You’re 1 block to the Ellerbee Creek Nature Trail & 17 Acre Wood, and 0.7 miles from Duke’s East Campus with its 1.75mi gravel loop. As you plan your travel to, from and around the Triangle, some helpful distances: RDU Airport is 15 miles (about 20-25 minutes) away Durham Amtrak, Bus Station and MegaBus pick up are 1 mile away NC-147 and access to I-85 & I-40 are It’s easy to get to Raleigh (25mi), Chapel Hill (9mi), or RTP (10mi) with a car, cab or Lyft/Uber.
Pet-friendly upon request (please confirm before booking). Professionally cleaned and sanitized before every stay. Ideal for longer stays — ask about weekly discounts or monthly rates. As stated in the house rules, there is an automatic minimum $250 service fee for any violations of house rules that require additional cleaning and/or cause damage. This is our home away from home. We have tried to make it comfortable for you and for us, and have been thoughtful in the amenities we provide. We appreciate you for exercising the same level of thought and care when staying here. While we are happy to host families, please note that the house is not “child-proofed,” nor do we provide any child-focused amenities (no crib, pack-n-play, high chair, etc). We do ask that guests are relatively quiet after 10 PM, as a courtesy to neighbors. Parties and loud groups are not permitted. Thanks for helping us be good neighbors. Smoking or vaping of any substances is not permitted on the property. There are exterior security cameras (locations specified in Safety section). We use Safely as a third party screener for the safety of all of our guests and neighbors. As part of the reservation you will agree that: "I give permission to the property manager to use a third-party to screen my identity and check criminal databases to confirm my reservation." Complete terms regarding the guest screening can be provided by the property manager. You may receive an email to complete your screening. Please check your spam inbox for this email and contact the property manager if you have any questions.
NO FLAMES: Use of anything that involves fire or open flames inside (e.g. candles, incense, etc.) is strictly forbidden.

We had a great week visiting Durham, NC. The house was perfect for our needs; central to do just about anything. Grocery shops, restaurants, the University, Duke Gardens and several close-by dog parks. This property was pet friendly. If one thing could be improved on a bit: I wish the water pressure at the kitchen sink was stronger. Emily was great to work with.

Simply wonderful
What a pleasure to stay in this historic mill house, beautifully updated with a gorgeous kitchen and bathrooms. We walked on the Greenway every day, even in the blazing heat. We also walked through the nearby neighborhoods. We could see downtown Durham on the skyscape; we were just minutes away.

Duke Graduation Visit
The house was perfect. We had five people, but six would fit comfortably. It was bright and clean and well appointed. Really could not have been much better. And, in a long weekend full of activities, it was great to have a home base that was so close to everything.

A little to modern…..
Nice kitchen that was well stocked. Comfortable beds. VERY uncomfortable living room furniture and low quality, older linens in king and queen bedroom. Lack of art on the wall makes the house feel unfinished in furnishings.
