Perfect for College Reunion

The house was clean, well equipped and generally comfortable. The location was perfect for the beach and exploring the Outer Banks, with plenty of shops and restaurants close by. We spent a lot of time in and around the pool and the hot tub was perfect.

Awesome Vacation

We highly recommend this property. It was perfect for our group of 10. Tons of space to spread out. The kids loved staying together in the bunk beds bedroom. They made great use of the game room. The location of this home is ideal for things to do in either direction. This home was clean and just like the pictures. We will definitely plan to stay again. A great week in a great home! Great family vacation spot

So much to do — pool, hot tub (thankfully because the weather was cold all week), pool table, foosball, games, quick walk to the beach. Kitty Hawk is fairly commercialized and not walkable compared to Duck to the north and Nags Head to the south but both are close by for day trips. Water park, Flight museum, aquarium, sand dunes and light houses great attractions (get tickets in advance for lighthouses and aquarium)

Family Adventure

This house worked very well for the families to have their own bedroom and bath except for bedroom on first floor did not have full bath and had to go to other floors for a bath/shower. Bunk room was great for the children. The kitchen and table seating was great! The walk to the beach was not bad at all. The home decor looked like the pictures...all very nice!

Family Vacation/Friend Vacation

The property was overall nice, the closets were jammed full of random things, and the blankets that weren't on the beds were dirty and we found a few dead bugs on them, which is nasty. The fridge upstairs didn't keep things very cold on the first two days but eventually it worked fine. The best thing about this property was the location, I would recommend this property but tell people to bring their own blankets.

Just a quick updated note to let you know that the new owners have cleaned the closets and removed all everything besides hangers the the 2 pillows/extra blanket which are now clean and in zipper storage bags to make sure they stay that way. No need to bring your own blankets now! Also, upstairs fridge now cools as it should on Day 1. Thank you again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was huge and very quiet. We had 3 adults and 6 children of various ages with us, and we still had plenty of space. Game room downstairs provided hours of entertainment, beach was a short walk. Only “negative” is that the furniture could use some sprucing up and the cleaning service could have been more thorough prior to our arrival. The recliners specifically have seen better days and the garbage can had some kind of grease and food in the bottom. Property management was very responsive with the small issues we had during our stay.

Loved the 2 coffee pots. (That made our morning go smoothly.) we had 2 people that had never been to the outer banks before and 3 that it was their second time. We will most likely do this again in a couple of years :).

Perfect Fit for Family

The beach is the perfect distance for a walk, the pool is a nice size, the hot tub is wonderful. Every bedroom having its own bath was wonderful! This was our first trip with all the children and grandchildren and this house made it possible for everyone to find their own niche. Probably the best vacation in years! The place was clean, has great furnishings, and every amenity we needed. We would go back again, if we weren’t wanting to take the grandkids to new places. Highly recommend this location!!

Great house

Railings seemed sticky but I wiped down with Lysol.We would have loved a Keurig coffee machine.We plan to return next year. Thank you!

They were prompt, helpful, professional and a pleasure in helping us throughout the rental experience. Dune Our Thing was a great vacation rental. Clean and comfortable. Close to the beach. Great Ocean views. The pool was cool and clean. As was the hot tub. The AC was always cool which was a welcome relief after a long day on the beach. The beds need updated very well slept in. Pool is on the small side but has seats made in it to relax which was nice. Walk to beach was not bad at all. The only down fall is the house needs a deep clean. The top refrigerator needs cleaned inside and out. The oven needs a deepclean as well asthe floors. Your feet will be black and dirty. Other than all that we had a wonderful time. Loved the location.

Robert, Thanks for your feedback. The owner of K1736 buys new mattresses for 1 bedroom each fall and rotate so all mattresses are 5 years old or less. However, they did some research and it seems that a firm mattress with a pillow top is preferred by more guest so, going forward, they plan to purchase that type of mattress. they owner's are planning to update the refrigerator this fall and will assess the floor situation you mentioned. Looking forward to seeing you again.

The house was great. The property management company probably not as good. They are not checking everything. We almost burned down the house because the bbq hadn’t been cleaned all year. There was so much grease and the brush to clean the grill didn’t have one bristle. The grease was at least 2 inches thick on the patio under the grill. Jacuzzi cover and sides falling apart. The sliding glass door tracks so dirty you can’t open the door and half of the chairs at the table are on the last legs. They can’t be glued anymore!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home accommodations fit our needs well! We loved the location being two streets to the beach and the quietness around us too. There was plenty of lounge chairs for sunbathing and especially loved the built in seats in the pool too. The house was clean and ready for occupancy before the scheduled window which was a plus. A few recommendations would be to replace a couple of mattresses and add additional towels. We only had one kitchen dish towel which is not adequate for a six bedroom home. We washed and rewashed it for use. Also, I would recommend a larger or second trash can for the kitchen too. Overall, great house for our families with plenty of space, bedrooms, and bathrooms.

Melanie, Thank you for the 5 star review! we love hearing from our guest. The kitchen should have 3 kitchen towels. Going forward, all 3 will be on the counter. The owner buys new mattresses for 1 bedroom each Fall and rotate so all mattresses are 5 years old or less. However, they did some research and it seems that a firm mattress with a pillow top is preferred by more guest so, going forward, we plan to purchase that type of mattress. Looking forward to seeing you again!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was nice. The house size was perfect, plenty of towels and linen. The top floor was the perfect place to relax and spend time with family. The only complaints we really had where roaches, there were lots of dead roaches on the floors when we first got there and throughout our stay saw many more-dead and alive, really scared my 4yo daughter when she saw a “monster crawling up her wall” (it was pretty big). Also the plumbing was pretty bad. One of the toilets never worked-would just overflow and then half the showers were stuck on bath and the others were stuck on shower. The hot tub was amazing and the location convenient-was a little far from the beach-toting 2 kids and all the beach equipment 5-10 minutes to the beach there and back wasn’t the easiest just cause the kids are so young and both fell numerous times and cut up there knees. All in all we very much enjoyed our stay. I hope you’ll fix the roach and plumbing problems.

Grey Goose Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was a bit put off by the uncleanliness of the house. The stove cooktop and vent hood were greasy, there was an entire box of fruit loop cereal spilled under the downstairs couch and clothing the from previous guests were under beds in the downstairs bedrooms. The ceiling fans in two rooms didn't work and none of the outside outlets on the decks worked. The rubber seal on the dishwasher is broken and it leaked all over the kitchen floor. The tv in the rec room would not change channels. The hot tub motor on one side did not work and it had been called in for service but the repair man did not get there until we had been in the house for a week. While sitting out on the deck the housekeeping crew pulled into the house next door and two people had a huge screaming argument in the driveway. Not very professional. I did enjoy the location of the home and it was a very short walk to the beach. The pool was very nice and it was cleaned regularly while we were there. The house is in need of some TLC but with better housekeeping services and all of the things I mentioned above fixed, I would stay there again. The way the house is at this point I would not recommend it to a friend. I don't know if it's just because it's near the end of the season that the house is in this condition. If so, the rental company should be aware of these issues and fix them.

Great New Year's Eve Stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spent four nights here with a group for the week of New Year's. Very happy with the property.PROS- Very clean, particularly for a house that allows dogs- Great location with a convenient walk to the beach and Trio's Market, and an easy drive to the grocery store- Hot tub was in good shape and working condition, which if you've ever stayed in a rental property you know can be hit or miss- Perfect house for adults. It's frustrating when houses are designed to sleep X number of people but they just stack a bunch of twin bunks in a couple of rooms and count sleeper sofas.- This has six bedrooms and only one of them has a set of twins (Attention rental property owners: Two kids can sleep in a queen. An adult couple cannot sleep in twins).- Good kitchen and open floor plan upstairs. Could easily hang out with 10-12 upstairs in the same room.- Great decks- Plenty of parking- Linens were sufficient- Kitchen utensils, pots/pans, and tableware were sufficient (knives are obviously horrible but good luck finding a rental house with nice ones). CONS- I would bring my own bath towels as theirs were pretty cheap but this isn't uncommon for rentals- Absolutely nothing provided (not sure if this was COVID-related) so we didn't even have a single roll of toilet paper, paper towels, or a dishwasher pod in the house. Not a huge deal, but I've stayed in 30+ rentals houses over the last decade and that was the first one I've ever seen without a roll of toilet paper.- TVs are way too small in every room, including the both living areas. Not a huge deal, but it seems like a weird place to cut costs considering how cheap TVs are these days. - There are two bedrooms that are on the first floor and their shared bathroom is on the second floor. I think this is a North Carolina coastal construction requirement for storm surges, but it's worth noting for guests.All in all a very good ho

We appreciate your recommendations and will pass these along to the owner. Regarding the missing toiletries, due to COVID, we had to alter the amount, however you should have received a welcome bag containing a small starter pack of these items. Our sincerest apologies if we failed to provide you with this bag and will make note to avoid an oversight as this in the future. Again, thank you and we hope to welcome you back to the beach very soon! NOTE: As of May 2022, new owner has purchased and made updates. There are now new towels, bath cloths, and bath mats. Each bathroom has at least 1 roll of wrapped toilet paper. Welcome bag contains paper towels and dish soap, among other items. TVs have been upgraded. Thank you again for the wonderful review. Just wanted to follow up with you on the updated items.
