The Twisted Sassafras Treehouse

The TWISTED SASSAFRAS TREEHOUSE is a brand-new custom-built treehouse located on 10 acres with a water view. It is nestled high in the trees and is the perfect romantic getaway for two! Enjoy the beautiful sunsets and sunrises while sitting on the deck. Cozy up in the 4-poster king size bed, snuggle up by the fireplace, relax in the hot tub on the deck or toast your feet by the firepit below. We also offer catch & release fishing!

The treehouse also features a fully equipped compact kitchen, keyless entry, two-person shower, hammock for two, BBQ grill, free Wi-Fi, T.V. and is in range of cell phone service.

Feel like you are away from it all without being away from it all! This treehouse is located on a county road just minutes from Cape Girardeau and Interstate 55. Enjoy local wineries, shopping in historic downtown Cape Girardeau, local restaurants, golf courses, historic sites, a riverfront Casino & more!

Please note, this treehouse is adults only with a max limit of two adults. Also, no pets are allowed for safety reasons due to the height of the treehouse.

This is one amazing property! Every detail is well thought out and it is the perfect place for a couples getaway. It is clean and spacious and we enjoyed the outdoor spaces as much as the indoor ones. Host was responsive and everything was a breeze in regards to check in and check out. Perfect setting for a short getaway. The house is nicely appointed with added amenities and perfect for couples. The house was lovely and we took advantage of relaxing on the bed by the pond and the hot tub. We would recommend this property to our friends and family and hope to return sometime.

Great spot for a romantic retreat!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! A beautiful place built on a beautiful property; we enjoyed the hot tub under the stars and the morning coffee on the porch (and another hot tub ). Great place for some R&R, and excellent communication with the owner in advance. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

Charming little treehouse. We wanted a private little getaway that was still semi close and it was perfect. The hot tub, the outdoor set up, the two person shower. Would highly recommend.

Private but close to town

We really enjoyed our peaceful getaway here. Everything was very clean and we were grateful for all the amenities and furnishings that were provided. We spent most of our time exploring Jackson, Mo which is very close to this property. Thank you for a unique and positive experience! We hope to come back for our 25th.

Perfect Getaway

Stayed here for our 5 year anniversary as a weekend getaway and it was perfect! This property is perfect for a couples retreat and I couldn't recommend it more. Everything was very clean and the hosts were super accommodating considering it was a special occasion. We can't wait to come back again!

My wife and I stayed in this charming little cabin on the first night of our 30th wedding anniversary road trip. It's just the right size for a party of two, located in close proximity to Cape Girardeau. The host is friendly and prompt, and the cabin experience was ideal. It was clean, modern and stylish, with an understated flair that made our stay feel special. We appreciated every little detail.
