Ski hutch with 6 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms. Ski in/ski out- walk to Cupp Run or beginner slopes. Enjoy a true cabin feel in the woods, sitting on top of the mountain with stunning Mountain View’s. Short walk to the slopes or Snowshoe village. Enjoy sitting by the fire on the deck watching beautiful sunsets or stay cozy inside gathered around the fireplace. Large storage area for your ski equipment or mountain bikes. This is the perfect place for family and friends no matter the occasion.

***Major Renovations*** We have a brand-new wrap around deck, with outdoor fireplace and large outdoor gas grill. Inside has a new fireplace, all new flooring, new furniture, new expanded bedrooms on the first floor. Almost the entire home has been renovated in the last 12 months. We strive to be a premier property on Snowshoe Mountain.

Guests will have access to the entire property for their stay.

Snowshoe Mountain is one of the premier ski resort on the east coast and Ikon Pass friendly. The Resort is located on top of the mountain and so is our property. All ski slopes and mountain biking runs are walkable from the property. Please see the `getting around` tab. Snowshoe Village is an Aspen inspired downtown area that is central to the resort, which includes restaurants, retail shops and many more. The many activities in Snowshoe include: Skiing, Snowboarding, tubing, downhill skiing, uphill skiing, Snowmobiling, Adventure dining, Sleigh rides, Indoor/outdoor heated pool/sauna/hot tubs. Don`t forget about Silver Creek Terrain park. All activities can be done during day or night.

2-minute walk to the western side of Snowshoe Resort Ski slopes.
3-minute walk to the main or eastern side of Snowshoe Ski slopes and some restaurants.
8-minute walk or 2-minute drive to Snowshoe Resort Village.
There is a shuttle that runs every 20 minutes during the winter season from the end of this properties road to the village and back.

We have only owned this property a short time and want to make it better and better for guests for years to come. Please share any feedback, no matter big or small. If you just have an idea to make the experience more fun, we want to hear about it!

Amazing West Virginia Sunsets

This place is amazing and close to the lifts, which is awesome for any mountain biker or skier. We had a wonderful stay and the property manager was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. If your looking for a great place to stay in snowshoe this is it.

Our host was great! The place was cozy and had plenty of beds. Our only issue was that it was 10 degrees when we arrived with a -14 degree windchill so we were freezing! lol The house warmed pretty quickly especially the downstairs. There was one room where the heat was finicky through the night so the room was warm cold wrm cold but that could have been the extreme cold temps that night (this was the room on the main level adjacent to the back door). In the same room the water in the bathroom attached was cold hot cold hot which made for a crazy shower. But this didn't occur in other bathrooms. Again with the extreme weather conditions who knows the cause. Overall it was a great stay.Thank you so much for the hospitality!

Snowshoe Paradise

We really enjoyed the location, the layout, and the number of people the property sleeps. The view is gorgeous and the host was on point with any needs or questions we had regarding our reservation. Definitely recommend checking out this property if you are traveling to the SnowShoe, WV area.

Great Location

Very short walk right out to the top of Cupp run. Large ski equipment room and beautiful views! Easy access to the shuttle stops to get anywhere on the mountain.

Mountain getaway

House is in a great location at the top of the slopes, maybe a 5 min walk(if that) from the front side, less to get to the back side. House had a great area in the basement for our skiing equipment, had plenty of beds and was a short walk to the village. Great communication with the property owner.

The property had a tiny kitchen to serve the number of folks for which it was listed. Fire pit did not light. Bathrooms are tiny.

Our kitchen is not huge but it is fully stocked and recently updated. The entire house is recently updated, interior and exterior, including all new furniture. I have to disagree with Pat regarding the size of our bathrooms. We have four full bathrooms in our property. One of the bathrooms has a tub and the other three have standup showers. Three of these bathrooms are bigger than the bathrooms in our own home. When the temperature reaches below zero, like it did during Pat‘s stay, gas can stop flowing, which is beyond our control. We called the gas company to verify. Our fire pit was bought brand new last year, and it is connected to a surplus of propane under our house. Pat was a great guest, he is welcome back anytime. 🙂

Nice but...

Nice location and the accommodations were as expected... several issues didn't make for a higher rating; fireplace, grill and Keurig coffee maker did not work. Otherwise, all other things were okay.

We have two fire places: our indoor fireplace is electric and controlled by a remote, it is less than a year old. The other is a fire pit on the deck. We just cleaned the pilot assembly in case there were difficulties lighting. The grill and fire pit are connected to an industrial sized propane tank under the deck that is monitored by the local gas company so it doesn’t run dry. We are adding instructions to light the grill or fire pit in case guests have difficulties. We have replaced our Keurig. We will do anything for our guests and take extreme pride in our mountain house. We want to make everything perfect so guests have the most enjoyable experience and truly appreciate feedback.

Big family trip on a cold weekend!

We had a great family stay despite the -20 windchill at Snowshoe Resort. The hosts were responsive and helped us resolve some minor weather related disruptions. We found the location clean and as advertised which was welcome. The house was just off the Cupp Run trail which wasn't a problem for experienced skiers, but our new kid skiers were a year removed from making this a true ski-in, ski-out. Fantastic views off the deck and quality family time were had by all.

Sunset View

When we arrived the house was still being cleaned, but she was very helpful and took care of everything before she left including lighting the fireplace and removing outside garbage. We had a gorgeous view that evening, and every night we were there. This was a family trip, and the evening views from the deck were a highlight. Our hosts were very gracious answering questions and sending additional towels. The staircase is a little tricky for children, and the layout is a little quirky, but the equipment room was probably the best we’ve had staying at snowshoe for skis, boots, etc. The kitchen was also well equipped with everything we needed. Overall a great family trip.

The house was very clean. There was some maintenance issues which they are attending to and noisy squirrels kept a couple of people up.We asked for some more towels and wash cloths which the cleaning person eventually brought. The original ad mentioned a hot tub but there was none, not that we would have used it since it was 39 degrees the first night. 8 of us stayed, all 60. Spiral steps to loft and bottom level is not older people friendly. The fire place in house was electric, gas outside. Kitchen was well stocked. No keurig but we all drink pot coffee. The morning and sunset view from deck was beautiful and we saw deer every day. The Village at Snow Shoe was 1/4 mile or less up the mountain. It was summer so only a few shops and one restaurant and a couple of pizza places was open. A WV almost heaven swing is behind the village at one of the ski lifts. Because of the maintenance and squirrel issue the owners refunded our money back. That was totally their idea, which we did not ask for since we stayed there for our entire time. I talked to owners and they were very pleasant and appreciative on advice. There is a gas station, and Dollar General at base of mountain on Rt 66 and Cass is a 20 min drive the other way off of Snow Shoe.

Vance was an awesome guest — super kind, patient, and easy to communicate with. During his stay, we ran into a couple of unexpected issues: a small leak from the master shower drain and, believe it or not, a squirrel that managed to sneak inside! We jumped right on both problems. The entire shower drain assembly was replaced, and we took the opportunity to upgrade the bathroom ceiling from drywall to wood plank to match the rest of the house. Our pest control team (a must in the mountains!) let us know critters have been especially active this season, so we’ve sealed up every possible entry point and added extra deterrents both inside and out. Since these two fluke things happened during Vance’s visit, we refunded his stay in full. He handled everything with such grace, and we really appreciated his understanding while we took care of the fixes. For future guests, we’ve put together a new Welcome Book that includes all the info you might need — from property details and amenities to local shopping, dining, and activity suggestions — to help make your stay easy and enjoyable. We still offer both a Keurig and a drip coffee maker (no hot tub yet… maybe next year!).

Disappointed

I have a recap of concerns/issues we had with the property and once I contacted VRBO and was connected with the owner he was unconcerned with my comments and was very condescending- not a great experience for the money we paid for this rental.

Lisa called Vrbo to get a refund claiming there weren’t as many beds in the property as advertised. We showed Lisa the listing that details the amount of beds. We also had a conversation with Lisa before her stay began and specifically addressed how many rooms and beds we had in our house. We take every complaint serious and always consider a refund. We took down all her information in a professional manner and decided a refund was not necessary given the above information. She also didn’t voice any complaints during her stay. This came as quite a surprise to us.

Will not repeat

This property did not look that small in small the pictures but you could tell some of the rooms were a little small. Once we arrived at the location and went inside, the rooms were even smaller than in the pictures and and it appears the owners have just thrown beds in closets and call it a room to mark down on the listing. Going through the house on arrival there were a lot of outlets that were worn out and barely anything stays plugged in (so loose it jut falls out) so you couldn't charge anything at night in your room. There were also multiple burnt out light bulbs which is a problem when checking in after 4 PM in the winter. I also had older relatives that have a hard time getting up and down stairs and the house has a VERY tight spiral staircase in the center which the rail broke and almost caused someone to fall. Also when unpacking things into the house the walkways were almost completely frozen over and the parking spots in front of the house had huge snow mounds that needed to be shoveled before pulling up. One of the biggest factors of a non return is that the transit does not come down that road. I even called for a short bus and they told me they do not pick up down there and I would have to walk up the hill to Western for a ride. This is problematic for elderly people. This place is NOT kid friendly ether. The metal spiral staircase could easily have small dogs or children slip through the spindles and fall as well as clumps of hair nder the couches.

We have addressed all of Masons concerns. We expanded one of our bedrooms, so now we have 4 large bedrooms with queen or king beds, 1 small room with 2 bunk beds and a loft that has 4 sets of bunk beds. We have replaced all outlets, so plugs are secure. We have installed reenforced gutters to prevent snow from melting and creating ice on the walk ways. We have a snow service that shovels the walk ways and drive after a few inches of snowfall. The local transit stops at the end of our road, which is only a 1-2 minute walk. My elderly parents and 2 & 3 year kids visit this property regularly. My parents are able to walk the spiral stair case without issue. If elderly parents are not surefooted, there is no need to navigate any stairs because we have two large bedrooms with full bathrooms, the kitchen and living room all on the same floor as parking. We have a standard sized spiral stair case, which is larger than the other properties on our road. We personally walk our children up or down the staircase. We have also changed our cleaner, who is extremely thorough with great communication. We just purchased this property in 2023 and did many major renovations. There were unforeseen concerns that we’ve learned through our first season. We have heard all the positives and negatives from our guests and have made many adjustments. We take all feedback very serious and aim to make Hutch 1 a premier property on Snowshoe Mountain.
