FANTASTIC HOUSE & AREA

The "Rock House" is the most magnificent rental my husband, myself and our little chihuahua (Maggie Mae) have ever stayed at. The house was clean, the views were fantastic. It is surrounded by apple orchards and has the best view out the front picture window. We enjoyed sitting in the yard, just taking in the marvelous views.

Our vacation away from it all

We wanted a place close to everything but also out of the way and this place was all that. 20-30 mins from towns. The view outside was amazing! Could see the other mountain across the way which was breath taking. Sitting around tge fire at night and seeing all the fireflies was cool to see. Would definitely stay again.

The home has a lovely view of the mountains. The bed was comfortable and bedding was clean. The bathroom is small and the walk in shower was alright, but a bit hard to keep the water from leaving the shower and getting onto the floor. A couple of maintenance issues. We had no water pressure (was resolved immediately after calling) by the friendly owner of the home. One of the cabinet doors was falling off and there was a lot of evidence of rodent droppings under the sink and in some of the drawers. Massive spiderwebs surrounded the entrance. My biggest complaint would be the lack of lawn care. Both the front and back yard was overgrown. We were looking forward to nights at the fire pit, and we definitely still used it, but the tall grass made for lots of bugs and an itchy experience. Also, the bottom of the driveway has completely washed out and has a very large ditch that you can’t avoid when going in and out. The company (PMI) sent me countless messages about if we needed anything just to message them. I asked for late check out once before our stay and twice during and all I got were robotic messages telling me that once again if I need anything just message them! I was completely ignored. The only time I was messaged was to let me know the plumber was coming. After letting them know how disappointed I was for being ignored, they sent me at message around 9:45 am saying oops! What time would you like to check out? As we were frantically trying to make the 10 am deadline.

Rock House Vacation

The house was situated so that it provided a spectacular view of the mountains. It was interesting to learn that the grandfather, father and uncle built it in 1956 for about $9,000 using rocks from a nearby stream. The host was very good about forseeing all our needs. The only problem was low water pressure.

A very enjoyable place to stay, private and peaceful, just what we wanted, yet close to places to explore. My only 'take note', if you drive a sports car, careful going up the driveway, I scraped my bumper as many areas are washed out by rain, needs to be addressed. Overall, really loved it.
