About this rental

Welcome to a truly rustic escape! This riverside lean-to is a back-to-basics, bring-your-own-gear camping shelter just steps from the beautiful Baker River. It’s ideal for hikers, campers, and nature-lovers who want a peaceful place to rest with the comfort of a roof—but none of the fluff.

Please note: This is a carry-your-gear-in stay. You’ll need to bring your own sleeping pad, bag, and essentials—this is a shelter, not a furnished cabin.

What’s Included
• Sleeps 1–2 guests (room for sleeping pads on the floor)
• Lean-to style structure with screened walls:
• 2 sides offer privacy from traffic
• 2 sides open to the river view through screened panels
• Fire pit and 2 Adirondack chairs provided
• No bedding or linens – bring your own
• No electricity or plumbing in the lean-to
• Bathroom is ~200 feet away in the main house (shared with others)
• Wi-Fi available nearby (not inside the lean-to)
• Parking is a 10-second walk down an easy, flat path
• Trash is carry-out only – help keep bears and wildlife safe
• Pet-friendly with prior approval
• Heater provided (note: it works very well)

• 5 minutes to Mount Moosilauke trailhead
• 15 minutes to Lincoln

Good to Know
• You must bring your own sleeping gear (pad, bag, blanket, pillow, etc.)
• No kitchen, running water, or indoor amenities

• Not suitable for those expecting hotel-style comforts
• Quiet hours after 9 PM
• This is an open-air lean-to shelter—ideal for nature lovers

Great property for the value - much better than plain tent camping, but still very outdoors. There is plenty of space in the lean to for personal items and sleeping equipment. The sound of the river flowing just a few feet away is really relaxing, as is the cool air coming through the screen walls. The privacy is also good - not in sight of the other units, but close enough to your car to easily take things in and out.Note there is no sink, only a toilet available on the main house. I’ll definitely be coming back for another peaceful retreat!

Beautiful, serene location. Owner was friendly, property well maintained. Water and bathrooms short walk away. The river is beautiful, the sound of the water had me sleeping like a baby.

Eric was very welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed. Of course, since this is primitive camping, it took a bit of getting used to not having a source of running water (other than the beautiful Baker River) for bathing, cleaning dishes, etc. Not having a source of electricity presented some challenges with regard to keeping my phone charged enough each day.The sound of the river is mesmerizing and so peaceful. I would highly recommend staying here for short stays, where not bathing for a couple of days is not a problem.

Amazing spot! If you're outdoorsy, looking for camp vibes without the hassle of setting up a tent this is for you. Eric was easy to comunicate with and very helpful. Hanging out right on the river was why we went and we were not disappointed. Rock hopping like kids it was a blast.

Super clean , gorgeous views of river Eric is a super host let us borrow grill and air mattress when ours didn’t work ! There is an available bathroom and he’s working on showers at the tiny house There are amazing rocks to collect on the river too ! It’s secluded and so many amazing birds too We went to town for ice cream and old home day we had a wonderful time

What a serene location!

Incredibly tranquil location. What an experience sleeping in the lean to with the open (fly net) sides allowing us to see the glowing fire and hear the bubbling stream. Unforgettable... Eric was a wonderful host. We really enjoyed the amazing swimming hole just 1/2 mile up the road at Breezy Point

Perfect location!

The view from this property doesn't get better! If you're looking to tent camp, you'll enjoy being right next to the brook. The peaceful environment of being secluded in the woods along with the sound of the water made this experience incredible! Eric was a wondeful host. Thank you!

Perfect summer getaway

We have been coming to this property for 6 years. We love it, it is so peaceful and relaxing. Eric is a wonderful host and always makes sure you have everything you need. The Baker River has so many cool swimming holes. Fishing spots, and the sound of if it is just pure relaxation. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you Eric!

Magical

Upon arrival I was greeted by a handsome gentleman who shared all the wonderful things this place has to offer. I was only booked for 2 days but I ended up staying 5 because of the peaceful atmosphere and I relaxed like I hadn’t in years and now all I can think about is coming back as soon as possible!!!!!!!!

Are you looking for a camping adventure, right on the river. Well, here it is! The accommodations are rustic, but what we were expecting! Eric was on site and was helpful with hiking recommendations, and other sights around Warren. There is a large swimming hole in the river within walking distance. Eric filled up the wood boxes for us for a fee and pre made the fire for our arrival. Would definitely stay again!
