Daufuskie is a 5 x 2.5 mile island situated on the inter coastal between Hilton Head, SC and Savannah, GA. There's no bridge to the island and one will have to take a ferry, water taxi, or private boat to get here.

Island get away lift

This place is perfect for 2 people and so convenient having a place to dock and golf cart rental right there. Management were easy to get ahold of and fixed problems right away .

Perfect getaway

Perfect place to stay on Daufuski especially if arriving in a private boat. You’ll have your own dock and a beautiful completely redone loft with a balcony looking out onto the river and Freeport landing. Misty is a great host, and lives only a few minutes away on the island. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay in the loft! Having access to the dock was a huge perk as we used our boat daily. The loft was clean and had everything we needed during our stay. The views from the deck were breathtaking! Cannot wait to return.

Great Getaway

This is a beautiful property. I was looking for some solitude and this mostly fit the bill. The loft was spacious and comfortable. The bar next door was a little noisy at times but not obnoxious. The owners were very accommodating and gracious.

Private Dock (5 stars!)

Everything was idyllic. Highly recommend especially if you are coming by boat as the private dock, was our favorite feature. There's a wonderful sitting area with a covered roof where you can sit and have a drink while watching other boats come in. The loft was clean and the kitchen was a bonus. Communication with Misty was great.

Birthday Getaway

Absolutely fantastic! Lovely view of the sunset over the water. Came over in personal boat, so dock access was key. Loft was exactly what we expected with close proximity to Freeport restaurant and golf cart rental. The hosts couldn’t have been more gracious. Look forward to doing it again!

Anniversary weekend getaway

We had the best time exploring Daufuskie. We arrived by boat and the private slip was so convenient. The unit was absolutely darling, well appointed and perfect for us. The location was exactly what we needed; close enough to walk to store and restaurant, but private and serene at the same time. Misty was fabulous and excellent to communicate with. We hope to stay here again and again. Thank you, Misty!

Beautiful Loft

The loft is cozy but not cramped and smells of fresh linen. It has everything you need on hand but bring a few grocery items since the general store is limited on options. It is located next to the Daufuskie Crab which was lively but not rowdy and the crowd was mostly gone by 7 or 8pm. When we weren’t exploring the island we spent our time hanging out on the covered dock where you can catch spectacular sunsets and can always spot a dolphin cruising by. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful setting

We loved our stay at The Loft on Daufuskie Island. Mike and Joann were as nice and accommodating as possible. We loved the outside balcony/deck, and would have love it even more if the weather would have been a little warmer! The bed is comfortable, the shower powerful, and we had all of the kitchen, bath and bed accessories that we need. I highly recommend. As a bonus, Mike's woodwork in the shop below is stunning.

Great Weekend Getaway

If you are looking for something a little different and unique, then this is the right property for you! The pictures really don't do the property justice. The "Loft" is a 5-star accommodation, and the woodshop and wine shop that are located downstairs are truly unique. The private dock is the perfect place to sit and watch the sunrise or sunset, and the Crab Company and General Store are located right next door which makes lunch, dinner, and basic provisions just a short walk away. Thank you for a great weekend getaway!

Loved the Loft!

The Loft has the best location on the island! The sunset views are incredible over the Intercoastal Waterway. Mike, the host, was very helpful with cart rental suggestions and quick to respond. He made us feel very welcome. We used Rocket for the golf cart rental. He was super nice and very willing to meet our needs. We are looking forward to our next stay!!

Everything said was delivered. We enjoyed our stay at the loft. What a different venue the Island was very interesting and enjoyable, we explored on our rented golf cart and went horseback riding. What a relaxing getaway.

Perfect location and character

This place checked all the boxes! Great location, views, and the deep water dock was thoroughly enjoyed. The studio is beautifully decorated and the building and woodwork amazed us. Great hosts also! Would love to visit again.
