Classic oak and leather furnishings throughout, 4 luxurious bedrooms, library with twin leather Morris chairs and ottomans, impressive dining room with original built-in buffet and table for 8-10, dedicated office space, super fast WiFi. Living room with comfy leather sofa and recliners, cozy electric fireplace and 55” smart tv, plus lots of musical instruments, puzzles and games. Bathroom with a restored antique clawfoot tub/shower, fully equipped 1950’s period kitchen with new appliances. Curated art by Van Gogh, Monet, Parrish and Mucha. 4 large bedrooms furnished with authentic Westin Hotel “Heavenly” beds and top quality linens. Central A/C. Outdoor grill and table/chairs. This rental was everything you could ask for. The host was extremely easy to work with, very quick to respond to messages and work through plans, and the house was furnished with everything you could ask for. Absolutely would recommend for a stay in Tacoma

This place is simply spectacular. From the exceptionally well-stocked kitchen to the tasteful decor, large dining room table, and musical instruments, it was beyond perfect for my stay. We had guests in for a small afternoon "celebration of life" for my recently departed musician mother; the vibes were so warm, comforting and comfortable -- completely appropriate.

The kitchen was supplied with all sorts of wonderful appliances and cooking tools. It was anxious to open the drawers and see what was there. You couldn't ask for a cleaner home. And then there were all the little finishing touches like a basket of toiletries on the bedside table of each bed, numerous bundles of charging cords typed neatly together for various USB styles, coasters on each bedside table, etc. Cathy seems to have thought of most everything... And she's incredibly responsive to messages --- I think in no more than 15 minutes each time I wrote. Last but definitely, not least, it is the aesthetic that she's brought to this home. Wonderful prints on the walls throughout, and the furniture and floor coverings that fit so perfectly with the period when the house was built. Can you tell? I'd love to live in this house! I totally recommend it. You'll be in for a treat.

Perfect Intro to Pacific NW Life!

Our kids and grandkids made their first ever trip to Washington from Indiana and Cathy’s Craftsman was perfect!! It is close to everything - has a nice park up the block and most importantly it feels just like home!! Do not hesitate to book this lovely craftsman - it is amazing!

Best house stay we have ever had

This home was extremely well set up and had everything we needed. The small touches count: fresh coffee, condiments in the fridge, some basics in the cupboard, internet that worked well, and easy check-in. On top of that, the house was warm and inviting, the rooms were on point, and there were lots of clean towels, etc. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Best Listing in Tacoma!

I utilize VRBO and others like it about once a month for work. This has absolutely been the best experience I've had yet. The house was decorated beautifully, was in a great location, was clean, the host, Cathy, was so sweet, and it's by far the best stocked property I've ever stayed in. This will be our go-to property while in the area for sure!!

I love the Northwest lifestyle and spend a lot of time outdoors fishing, snowshoeing, hiking and gardening, but my real passion is restoring old Craftsman homes. I’ve owned and restored 14 of them over the years, but the Cushman house is definitely my favorite. I’ve restored everything from the original wood windows and clawfoot tub to the plaster walls, and I feel like the house is a cherished member of my family. Over the last 20 years I have worked to bring the house back to its original glory, furnishing and decorating it in true period style, and now I want to share it with the world.
Hosting guests here has been a very gratifying experience, I enjoy providing guests with a comfortable and unique stay, and hope that they can come to appreciate the house as much as I do.
