Mel’s Country Cottage

Private detached effeciency apartment in a country setting near WinstonSalem. Pets welcome. Local restaurant & convenient store 1 min. away. Close to many tourist destinations- Hanging Rock, Winston Salem, Pilot Mt. Belews Creek power station. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Our place has of the feel of "getting away", but being in close proximity to town/city life. We are located on Town Fork Creek and it is a beautiful place to just hang out & get your feet wet, or nature watch. Queen bed, kitchenette with sink and essentials, sofa, smart TV, full bath, covered porch. Relax by the creek or enjoy nature walks. Watch the occasional deer & other wildlife. Use the grill or fire pit at your leisure.

I stayed three weeks and felt very much at home in Mel's Country Cottage. I was welcomed and was frequently greeted as I came and went, visiting family in the area. I can't think of any detail for comfort or convenience that was not available. The cottage is cozy and tastefully decorated. Since this visit was during the worst of winter weather, I didn't get to enjoy all the extras on the property that would be fun during warm, sunny weather, so I look forward to another stay during warm months.

The property was absolutely beautiful as well as the interior of the cottage. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and taking in the sounds of nature. The farm animals were also very friendly as well as the owners. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with a country aesthetic. Will definitely stay here again!

Great property!

Perfect property to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The cottage is nicely equipped for a 2 person stay with newer amenities. My wife looked forward to having a morning cup of coffee with the goats, and we took some time to explore the river frontage which is beautiful.

We had an amazing stay at Cindy’s property. We just wanted to getaway and enjoy nature and Cindy’s property gave us that and more!! We didn’t stay long but we left refreshed and rejuvenated and we would love to come back and stay longer.

Fabulous and Relaxing Place to Stay

Me and my husband just wanted a quick and easy place to get to not far from home and this was perfect. We wanted to go to Old Salem and Mt. Airy and this was a perfect place in between. The space was warm and inviting. There were snacks and fresh eggs to cook, if desired. We loved walking down to the creek and enjoying the beautiful grounds. The owners are super nice!!

Joe & Cindy Scott. We have 10 children & 33 grandchildren. We have retired after 45 years in the drywall business. We enjoy sitting on the porch, grandkids & watching our animals and the nature that surrounds us.
We aren’t totally as chilled as that sounds. We spend a lot of time keeping up our 12 acres. Occasionally we break away and travel. We enjoy canoeing & fishing. We have rented since 2019 & have enjoyed meeting the nicest people.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

Germanton is very quiet and friendly with a lot of farmers and family in the area. Located near Winston Salem & Walnut Cove. Lots of hiking in the area with Hanging Rock just 20 minutes away. Wedding venues are close as well as Belews lake.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The outdoors make us unique with the chickens & goats. On our 12 acres there is a nice creek to explore and plenty of nature surrounding. A great place to bring your dog.
