Welcome to the Cottage On Grand! Take a 3 minute drive to Walker’s Bluff Casino & Resort, or a short bike ride to the local ice cream shop, bakery & antique shop. Southern Illinois University is 7 miles west of the property. Also located nearby are other local vineyards, incredible hiking, and Crab Orchard Lake. If you’d rather stay in, you’ll enjoy the fenced back yard & patio for al fresco dining. Air mattress is available upon request. Linens, towels & body wash all provided.

The space
One bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two twins. The master has a 32" Roku TV. The comfortable living room also has a 50" Roku with the Roku channel and Netflix.

Guest access
There is a dry basement that guests have access too

It is a bit of a busy street so I would recommend backing in to the driveway for an easier time of getting out

Kitchen was not stocked very well no icemaker bin in fridge and extra things like trash bags and paper towels were not provided. Beds were very comfortable and location was very convenient for us. Overall a good place for the price.

We provide chips for treats and several coffee pods for the coffee maker along with creamer and sweetners You're correct, there is no ice maker in the fridge The trash bags are in the bottom of each trash can Paper towels are on the paper towel rack with extra rolls in the cabinet We are not sure how you missed them

Cute as can be and can't beat the location in Carterville. There is a very low doorjamb into the bathroom (I am 5'7" and barely made it) and my husband cracked his head on it pretty hard, twice. I'd like to stay here again but I hope that door opening gets fixed.

Cottage was cute and clean! Owner communication was good. Easy check-in and check-out directions and process.We did notice an older smoke smell in the home. Nothing recent, but seemed to maybe be in the walls from years ago. Something to note if you are sensitive to the smell, as we are. We also booked due to the listing description of being "3 minutes from Walker's Bluff." It is actually about a 15 minute drive. Thankfully, we realized the discrepency prior to our events at Walker's Bluff, so we weren't late. But the location wasn't quite as convenient as we were expecting.

Great Stay great location

We enjoyed our time at the Cottage on Grand. The beds were comfortable and the living area was welcoming and cozy too. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to the local bakery and enjoyed the quick drive to Carbondale.

The cottage is adorable and tastefully decorated. Clean throughout. Bed and bathroom linens clean and fresh. Living room comfortable and a nice space for gathering and playing the memory card game (a few games on the TV cabinet!) Kitchen well stocked with utensils, cups, etc, including a basket of chips, k-cups for the Keurig, cream and sugar. (Very much appreciate the coffee!!!!) No ice maker and appreciated the bag of ice in the freezer. Location just a few blocks from downtown Carterville with an ice cream shop and two coffee shops. Neighborhood quiet at night. Lovely deck with patio furniture (we did not have time to use but would've sat out there for evening cocktails...) Photos and description of cottage are accurate. Plenty of towel in kitchen and bathroom. Bathroom with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Kitchen with hand soap, dishwashing soap, dishwasher soap pods and paper towels. Owners ask that you not wear shoes in house, so remember slippers. No hairdryer. Bathroom with excellent water pressure and hot water. Basement with additional bed, but given it's a traditional old midwestern basement, probably not practical to plan on someone sleeping there. We had plenty of room on the main floor for 4 of us and could easily have had someone on the couch if needed. Enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book. We did go to a restaurant called "Asian Fusion" close to 57. Food was prompt, delicious and generous serving sizes. Would recommend!

Comfy cottage

This was a nice spot to stay while visiting family nearby. It was easy to check in and out, clean, and there were plenty of extras provided (blankets, towels, snacks/coffee, and an info book about the area). The host was very helpful when I needed something! Recommended spot!

Short Stay at Cottage on Grand

I stayed at Cottage on Grand with my sister and three children. We checked in late Wednesday night and left Friday morning. The home was clean, and the neighborhood was quiet. The host was responsive to messages. We would definitely stay again!
