Located on two secluded acres in the Shawnee National Forest, Adventure's Rest offers a peaceful setting for your getaway. From girl's weekends to hunting and fishing trips, Adventure's Rest offers something for everyone. The Rest offers breathtaking views of nature you'll enjoy from the large deck with a Hot Tub, or while grilling on the adjacent stone patio. For those cool evenings, warm up around the large custom fire pit after a fun day on the wine trail. Only a few miles from Blue Sky, Owl Creek, StarView and Feather Hills Vineyard & Winery, less than a mile from Devil's Kitchen Lake (the only lake in Illinois with rainbow trout) the Rest is just off Rocky Comfort Road, ½ mile from the River to River hiking trail right in the heart of Southern Illinois hunting, fishing, and Wine Country.

We stayed here for my birthday with friends/couples trip. So close to the wineries and the property exceeded our expectations. Immaculately clean. Tons of space to cook and hang out. The property outside is gorgeous and well kept. We used the grill and Blackstone and the hot tub. We will be back!

Excellent location right in the heart of Southern Illinois Rock climbing, so it was a perfect retreat for our family climbing adventure. Large Common areas meant that we were never on top of one another. Owner was incredibly responsive. Couldn't recommend this spot more for those looking to stay in Southern Illinois!

Great cabin in the woods

Me and my friends had a great time staying at the house while we boated on little grassy! The house and property were clean and had everything we needed. The host Bob was very helpful and quick To respond!

Perfect stay!

We loved our stay and will definitely stay here in the future on return trips. Communication with Bob for minor issues (key code, etc...) was quick and easy. The house and surrounding area is beautiful. It's probably the best stocked vrbo house I've rented. Lots of extra blankets, pillows, towels/washcloths, etc...

Fall Girls Trip

I was very impressed with our stay and communication. We were given lots of suggestions on dinner, lunches, and more. We loved the house and the relaxed vibe it had. The area was beautiful and it made our stay very comfortable. The property was amazing and I look forward to hopefully coming back with family and friends.

Great place!

This house was perfect for myself and friends. Located in a wooded area and close walk to the lake. The view was perfect. House was clean and had plenty of room for all of us. We used the hot tub every night! Best part, there are 2 bathrooms! So plenty of time for 7 ladies to get ready. Would highly recommend this property for any trip!

Girls Trip

If you’re looking for a large, clean and comfortable home close to hiking and the wine trail, this is the home for you! Very friendly host, plenty of space (4 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, lots of space for eating together). The outside area is just as great with deck, patio table, hot tub, fire pit and gas grill. We had deer visiting every morning and night! If relaxation is what you are looking for, book this home!

Relaxing Adult Weekend

This home was the perfect place for us as a group of 7. The outdoor table was used the whole trip. We ate out there every meal. We used the hot tub MANY times (a huge selling point for us when we were booking). The entire home was clean. All linens were nice and clean as well. It was one of the most stocked homes I’ve ever rented (tons of kitchen necessities, ziplocks, laundry detergent, etc.). It was a good location as far as proximity to wineries, lakes, etc! Communication with the host was great as well. We’d definitely stay here again, and recommend it as well.

Looking for a great experience? You can't go wrong

My family enjoyed a four day stay at this clean, comfortable home We enjoyed and utilized the well equipped kitchen as well as the top of line grill for our cook outs. Many of our meals were enjoyed on the nice deck before the family took advantage of the large family size hot tub. My two grandkids loved the yard and the nice walk to the lake behind the house and the near by trails. Bob, our host was most helpful, he even provided us with some mushroom to go with the steaks enjoying grilling. He let us go into the house before 4 pm after we arrived early which was greatly appreciated. If you are looking for a nice quiet place for a family outing you will not do better than this lovely home. Thanks again Bob for a great experience!!!

Beautiful home with amazing outdoor spaces

We immediately fell in love with this property. This is definitely a 5 star property. The outdoor space filled all of our needs. The outdoor furniture, hot tub and gas grill were exceptionally clean. Firewood was also provided. The home itself was amazing. Traveling with four teenagers we appreciated its size which allowed everyone their own space. The kitchen was well equipped and had an amazing set of cookware. A more than ample amount of towels and linens were provided, even extra blankets for getting cozy and watching movies. The cleanliness of the home was very impressive. The only regret that we had with this home was that we didn’t book a longer stay. Thank you Bob for making our stay so enjoyable.
